Stumbled on this place with a friend and was so impressed by how good the bagels were, though it comes at a really high price all things considered. I got the uncle Dave which had a delicious mix of lox with a a lemon citrus flavor. I also loved the pickled cucumbers that came on top. The bagel was so fresh and sooo messy to eat so beware it's prob best eaten outdoors. I can't say the atmosphere was particularly friendly when we ordered but it was made quite fast and packaged nicely in a bag. While the bagel sandwich was nearly $20 and a hefty price to pay for a bagel with shmear and lox, I left really impressed at how good it tasted.

5* Food 4.5* Service 4* Ambiance 3* Value Designer bagels at designer cost; you really do get what you pay for in taste, but not in portions, as it is minimal. I enjoyed each bite of my Deanna Michelle. Crunchy sesame crust, excellent bagel chew, crispy and delicious Persian cucumber, lemon vinaigrette, housemade garlic chili oil with miso scallion and cream cheese. I was looking at everyone's bagel and it is really an art form. Definitely, I will be back!

Was it good? Yes. Worth the wait? No. There are pretty stingy with their portions compared to other bagel spots. But the same price or even more. So take that with what you will! Other places might taste a bit better too.

I'm still looking for a bagel that matches up to NY's Apollo Bagels and these aren't it. I got the Grampa Sam ($21) which is an everything bagel with plain schmear, nova salmon, fried capers, pickled onions, dill and lemon. The crust was too hard and there wasn't enough chew to the bagel. There wasn't enough schmear, which was too whipped and wet, and I thought that the lox wasn't plentiful enough. Especially for that price. Glad I went during an off time so I didn't have to wait too long.

Super unique bagel spot! My personal favorites were the Deanna Michelle and uncle Dave! The shmear here is really good and the bagels are named after family members which is a cute touch. Bagels themselves are on the thinner side and have a nice crisp. I prefer these to Layla bagels which are more chewy so it's harder to bite.

4.5/5 New favorite bagel spot -- they use 72-hour fermented sourdough to make every bagel. I got the Kathy & Rick: Cantabrian anchovy butter, chives & pickled guindilla peppers served open faced on the freshest available bagel. It is so perfect chewy and crispy (not bready) and not too salty. Mine ended up on an everything bagel but I would love to try the other flavors. No line on a Friday around noon. I parked in the neighborhood side streets about a block behind the restaurant Tip: No substitutions and no "toasters". They are baking bagels all day and serving them fresh!

Right next to my to-go bakery, obv Mustard has come into my attention since few months ago when they first opened their door. The line kinda terrified me though plus some reviews saying they're out of stock pretty early in the day. Besides, the opening window was indeed relatively short. Finally making my way there, the line was actually moving swiftly even on busy weekend. Seats were limited for dining on the spot, but if you came in small group (ideally 2), it's not too bad of a wait. You'd order first, got a number, then they'd deliver your order to your table. We tried Grampa Sam, their open-faced salmon bagel served with schmear and fried capers. My husband loved the fried capers and did find it making this menu unique. I did try it and compared to other salmon bagels in town, my personal preference would fancy the others that featured more components beyond salmon and schmear. Don't get me wrong though, Mustard's pretty good and their everything bagel was yum, being at the right balance of crispy coating yet chewy inside! My fave was my own order of Harry's special, the seasonal sweet option with sesame bagel, miso honey butter, and lemon vanilla mascarpone. Sweet, bit of salty hint, and light airy cream mixed with super fresh strawberries! Personal favorite now and I hope they stay longer.

Quality, fresh bagels with unique fresh toppings. They don't dethrone Courage Bagels, but they're in second place for me. The male employee who took our order was kind and had a funny sense of humor. It's a small place that you have to line-up to place your order and pay. There were available seating at one of their sidewalk tables, so we enjoyed our bagels and drip black coffee (no sugar or creamer available at this place--which is fine by me because I drink my coffee black, but I'm not sure how that's going for others?). They give you an order number and they bring your bagels to your table. Grab some napkins, they're messy but tasty! Street parking available near and around Mustard's Bagels. Go give 'em a try!

This bagel pop-up is really good. The bagels are a good consistency. A little chewy, but not too much. With fresh, creative ingredients in the toppings, each bagel is a work of art. For now they are only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but that may change in a few months.

The Glanville Boys can touch anything and make it the best! If they got into...well anything, it would be excellent, exceptional, amazing. This is not exaggeration. Kyle changed the LA Coffee Scene back in 2011 when he introduced G&B Coffee not just riding 3rd wave coffee but slaying 3rd wave coffee! Introducing Mustard's Bagels. What's the big deal? The Glanvilles...that's the big deal. Not just a bagel, but if Michelin had stars for bagels, this would be a 3 star bagel. This is not your Bobbe's bagel, this is something altogether different and amazing. Service definitely is top notch, given to the complete experience that The Glanville Boys have a reputation for. Ambiance is lively with outside seating and music bumping. If you think that it's just bagels, you have something more interesting coming to you. Mustard's is another great business model by The Glanville Boys!

Small bagel shop where you order upfront (or online order) with outdoor seating. I ordered the Grampa Sam (lox) and Andy's special (peach/nectarine). The bagels are fermented with sourdough and you can definitely taste it which I really enjoyed. The Andy's special was definitely on the sweeter side as they add some granola on top. Would go back!

The place is super tiny with no indoor seating space but some outdoor tables. The server was super friendly and gave us a free orange cake slice which was delicious. The cucumber one with the miso spread was my absolute favorite. For a reasonable price you get such a fresh bite of the cucumber over a toasty bagel and some amazing miso spread to wrap it all together in such a magnificent combination. The chili oil also adds a nice hint of spice. My favorite by far. The salmon one was also really good. The everything bagel is also fantastic, crispy and freshly baked. The pickled onion goes super well and the cream cheese and capers make it a great classic. Not as iconic but it won't disappoint. Salmon was super fresh. Banana hazelnut bagel was not for me. There was a slight bitter taste and with the lack of sweetness it just wasn't what I was expecting for a little dessert bite. I appreciate it is not meant to be as sweet as Nutella but there was just a certain bitterness to it that I didn't love. There is limited coffee options and a few beverages offered but the flavor composition of these bagels make it a perfect choice to not feel too full after a meal and get your bagel cravings more than satisfied. Excited to try some of the other unique bagel flavors.

FIRSTLY, you must divorce the notion of what you are eating and your expectation for what a bagel should taste like, and then your experience will be completely different! The internet feels compelled to pit Courage and Mustard's against one another for the spot of LA's best bagel, but I think Mustard's wins only with regard to their line (the lack thereof) and their lox. The lox is perfectly salty with no fishiness or stringiness and it's truly a perfect buttery bite. The other toppings are also great, with the unique take on fried capers and bright, punchy pickled onions. However!!!!! The crunch to chew ratio is insane, to the point where this sht is more of a CRACKER than a bagel. I genuinely thought my front filling was going to come out with how crunchy it was. That being said, it was delicious, just not what I expected. Also -- if you're there in the winter, I'd probably get it to go even if there's seating outside, because it's on the stretch of Washington where you can feel every single breeze like the Big Bad Wolf is trying to take down Culver City.

Sometimes the assembly was sloppier than other times, sometimes the bagels weren't consistently baked well, but for the most part, it's a bunch of nice friendly guys who make the food really well and they easily got 1-2 visits out of me weekly. Things have slowly been doing downhill for the last year or so. First, there was the temporary egg surcharge that quietly stuck around after the shortage ended. But things have taken a much sharper turn downhill since the longtime owner handed it off to a pair of local "entrepreneurs." These clowns think they've preserved the vibe of the place but they have done a LOT of brand damage in a very short amount of time and it turned me off big-time. Straight away there was an across-the-board price increase in addition to the preserved egg shortage surcharge. My $9.80 breakfast combo has almost doubled in price to just under $17. That is no longer a good deal; it's the same unaffordable ripoff that every other place has had to do. But the real vibe killer has been the shift around the new owner's prerogatives. One of the new owners claims to be a professional designer, but one of the first things she did was slap a tacky AI generated slop logo all over every square inch of the place. That alone is enough to make me say goodbye. They also claim to be bakers by specialty, but all the bakery goods are dry and bland now - much worse than they used to be. The tackiest decision has been to replace things that weren't broken - the signage - with shittily formatted, constantly slideshowing digital layouts with bad line breaks; believe me when I say the whole thing is a formatting nightmare. If you're a designer, is this your best work? Is this how you attract clients? Because the UX is dogshit and I would prefer you just print a new laminated sign. The main agenda of that though is to play a 3 minute loop on repeat pushing the "baker"'s recipe book. NYBD has always had a lot of weird stuff that gets introduced for a bit and then cycled out, just based on the owner having relationships with other folks or whatever. Someone's hot sauce, maybe a church pamphlet, stuff like that. But the heavy-handed agenda shift towards the brand of this entrepreneurial couple WITH BAD TASTE is blocking out the sun. Combine that with the prices going up 200% and I'm out. I love the boys that work there but unfortunately they're not gonna be seeing me anymore. I'm actively looking for a replacement - if anyone has a local bagel haunt they like to get their breakfast at, please let me know. Thanks!

I asked him "excuse me, do you know where the restroom is?". He knew I was waiting there right in front of him the whole time and knew that he was ignoring me. And he outright yelled and said "what's the magic word??" With this angry and annoyed look on his face... I was shaken up and said "where is the restroom please?"
