hallf the sandwich and my drink!

Monroe Place has become one of my favorite Culver spots. I dream of the WLF and highly recommend pairing it with the mini cookies from Lei'd and an Olipop. Soooooo so so good anytime I have guests over, I take them here.

My first visit, I thought the WLF sandwich was very okay and overly saucy. I have a theory that places that put a lot of sauce are covering up the fact that the food itself is not very good. But after expressing my concerns, Monroe Place was quick to reach out and recommend me another sandwich (Jamón & The Giant Peach) which I enjoyed a lot more! The ingredients were fresh and the ratio of everything was perfect. Although I didn't have the greatest first experience, I love that they did everything they could to make it right.

My neighbor has wanted to come here for awhile and we were not disappointed! The ambiance is chill, you can sit (high stool) or stand at the counter and eat inside. There were also a few low tops outside. Staff was patient and informative. Will definitely be back. It's in a cute little strip of shops on Washington. Plenty of free 2-hour parking in the neighborhood.

Culver City doesn't lack outstanding food and drink options - you just have to ask around, turn to your neighbors and friends, and of course, to those foodies on Yelp who helped me discover Monroe Place. Simple format, solid sandwiches. I stopped by here on a weekday after the lunch rush to check out the latest food offerings. A friendly team member welcomed and informed me that they sold out of ciabatta bread for the day but that everything else was available. After looking over the colorful wall menu, I decided to tap into my hunger (as well as my love for Seinfeld) and go with The Morty. The Morty comes with Pistachio Pesto, Mortadella, Burrata, Cracked Black Pepper, Arugula, Balsamic Glaze normally on Ciabatta but this time, I went with Focaccia. I sat at one of the half dozen bar seats inside and within 5 minutes my order was called. The packaging was your traditional white paper bundle, wrapped and sealed with yellow tape, anxiously awaiting me to tear it open. I conceded my temptations and was delighted to see a wonderfully colorful and inviting sandwich on my plate. The Morty was quite tasty. First of all, the bread was soft, fresh and phenomenal. The Mortadella and Burrata cheese were spectacular. Top notch quality and very rich and satisfying. The Black Pepper added a nice little kick, while the Arugula, Pesto and Balsamic Glaze perfectly complemented the rest of the sandwich with unique flavors and textures. It was a pretty good sized sandwich and priced on average with other competitive shops in the area. A few seats outside, a stocked and clean restroom for customers in the back. Parking is pretty open all along Washington Blvd. with plenty of 2-hour options on any of the side residential streets. The bread is the star here, with a simple menu that delights the senses without breaking the bank. Get there early before they sell out of the bread of your choice and enjoy a tasty Monroe Place sando.

Tried out Monroe Place recently and overall, it was a decent experience. We had the Italian Spaniard, Big Bambino, and the Morty--while the first two were fine, nothing really stood out flavor-wise. The Morty was the strongest of the bunch with a good balance and seasoning, but still not quite enough to make a lasting impression. The vibes were nice and the service was solid, but with so many great sandwich spots around, I'm not sure this one makes the repeat list for me. Glad we tried it, but probably won't be rushing back.

What I ordered: - "The giving tree" sandwich A friend of mine highly recommended this place and it did not disappoint! He said to get "the giving tree" sandwich which consists of herb turkey, gruyère cheese, granny smith apple, arugula, and a spicy sauce (consisting of hot sauce and kewpie mayo) on focaccia bread. The focaccia bread was cold, soft, and airy. The textures of this sandwich were magnificent, with the softness of the turkey and cheese with the crunch of the granny smith apples was a nice contrast. The balance of flavors were also impressive. The bitter arugula with savory turkey/gruyère, sweet apple, and subtle spice of the spread (consisting of hot sauce and kewpie mayo) created a delightful bite!

Just okay. Very small snack size sandwiches and advertised to use bub and grandmas bread, but it was only used for a small selection of their sandwiches. I was expecting a filling meal but my big bambino sandwich was really small with not a lot of filling either. The bread was also very hard. Not quite worth the price for me but I'm glad to have tried it.

Friend eating *Matador's Wife* with avocado

Food was really great! I ate the WLF which is their most popular sandwich, and it is for a reason... it's just so solid, love it. Friend had the matadors wife with avocado and it looked amazing!! Nice people working here and the vibes inside are chill, not too many spots to sit down but good for a quick bite.

After refusing to stand in line for the opening of Helm's Bakery, we walked a few minutes down the street to find this smallish sandwich shop that already had a line forming around noon on Saturday. Parking available all over Washington so no issue there. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We decided to split the Italian Spaniard. Compared to many of the newer sandwich shops opening lately, $14 didn't seem all that bad and it was a good size. If I was nitpicking, I would say it needed a tomato or roasted red pepper but we ate the whole thing. Will definitely come back to try others - and especially to try that awesome smelling focacia!

The sandwiches are really good! Generous portion and the ingredients are super fresh and healthy. I ordered the Dilly Dally, which had chicken, lemon, pesto, dill, greek yogurt, and lots more. It was really refreshing with the herbs. Only con for me was the focaccia bread was a bit more burnt than what I would have liked, but that's a minor detail overall. I still really enjoed the sandwich. Also got a cucumber mint limeade and turned it into an arnold palmer, it was perfect! The store is more set up for a grab and go, not many places to sit and eat your food. Would definitely come back for a quick bite.

There are a number of reasons why the Culver City location was so much better, but perhaps the main drawback at this LA location is the fact that the former had a real sense of ambiance, and uniqueness, particularly when it came to its cozy little cafe section. Now the "cafe" is pretty much just a space within a space. Another real draw to the Culver City location was the fact that they actually had a separate section where "Guest Chefs" could come in and teach entire classes via cooking classes that sometimes you have to sign up for in advance, and other times you could just kind of walk in on it. That was dope! And while the staff was friendly enough, and again ( don't get me wrong it's still a place that I will be back to to purchase much needed product), it's just an unfortunate reality that sometimes no....you can't duplicate the past.

We have always made her food fresh every day, but one day she decided, this steak is not for me, burger, shove it. She even refused chicken.
