Convi is such a cute spot that has a variety of specialty grocery items and offers all day breakfast items. I got their breakfast burrito for $16 and it came with eggs, bacon, pickled jalapeños, and cheese. The guy working was helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the burrito and it came with this delicious chile de arbol salsa. They have some tables outside and their neighboring coffee shop, Jurassic Magic, has seating inside. Parking is minimal, just have to find a spot on the side streets.

Tried the breakfast burrito and it was absolutely delicious! I subbed the bacon in the breakfast burrito for avocado and it was wonderful. The crisp from the tater tots complimented the soft scrambled eggs and the hot sauce is very tasty.

I had never heard of this place before, and don't often venture to Mid-City, but a friend who knows all the trendy spots wanted to take me here to try their sandwiches. It's a cute, off-the-beaten-path venue - a sandwich shop that also feels like a hipster convenience store, kind of a cross between a NOLA and a Japanese-style convenience shop. I was told their breakfast burrito and Italian sandwich are great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They recommended the Italian for a big appetite, and it was indeed filling! The bread was fantastic - either they have great in-house baking skills or source it from a top-notch bakery. While not a classic Italian sub, the one I had with pepperoncini was delicious and satisfying. I'd definitely go back and try the breakfast burrito. However, it is a bit pricey. The Italian sandwich came to over $20, which seemed a bit pricey for the area.

Me and my sister got Soyrizo Burritos and they were SO BOMB I have tried many bfast burritos in LA and this one is genuinely so good I'd go back for it! It's less expensive than the Sobuneh one and tastes better... + the environment is so cute !

This little hidden gem tucked in a neighborhood. Give me nyc bodega vibes but much cooler. Loved all the details of all the items too purchase candy and my favorite chips from Spain. Don't get me started on the food. I always had a hard time deciding one of the owners helped me with ordering the crispy chicken sandwich. Delicious! Sandwiches were delicious and the breakfast burrito is a must try. I also had the Italian sub. Check out their sister location next door for some amazing coffee at jurassic magic.

    breakfast burrito - $14

I'm a big fan of Jurassic Magic (partner coffee shop just next door) but was disappointed by Convi's high prices and food quality. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito which was $14. This was priced a little high for the size and ingredients, but it is LA, so I thought why not. Initially when eating the burrito I thought it tasted okay but the hot sauce really helped add flavor. I then ate the second half of the burrito a couple of hours later and immediately got sick. I don't think it was food poisoning, but my stomach had already been feeling queasy and I believe it was due to the oil/grease in the burrito. I do recognize it was my choice to eat the burrito and it also is my tolerance of greasy foods (I almost never eat fast food) but for the price of the burrito I can't justify the taste and/or quality. Also, someone ordered the veggie sandwich and it was an addition $4 to add turkey which is exhorbitant for this being a corner store. I didn't try anything else but noted a cup of fruit was $5 and small parfait with fruit was $6. I most likely won't be back unless I'm in a pinch. The outdoor setup is beautiful but I recommend the coffee shop Jurassic Magic only.

The non-pretentious, upscale, carefully curated but still nostalgic neighborhood bodega you didn't know you needed. The breakfast egg sandwich (with bacon) was beautifully crafted but with the taste to match. A perfect balance egg to bacon to aioli ratio. With a smackin brioche bun. Then they got the onigiri situation which is just a cheat code to joy for me so... shout out this whole store and the kind people working here. (Also they got the good ass dried mango you be looking for everywhere)

Cool spot. Nice decor inside. The food is fantastic. The Italian sandwich delivers with gusto. Friendly upbeat service.

There was a bit of a wait on a weekend but the breakfast sandwich was super tasty. I would have waited twice as long. No seating inside but there are outside tables and seating at Jurassic magic coffee. Good selection of unique snacks.

Shoutout to the girl working that Saturday who answered all my questions about the different filled mochi flavors. They have a pretty decent assortment of Japanese snacks and candies, but of course come for the freshly made mochi. The texture is soooo soft and chewy unlikely the weird powdery texture of many other store bought mochi. My favorite was definitely the ichigo daifuku, although I do wish it came with a whole strawberry instead of just a small piece because the bite with strawberry was AMAZING. Second favorite is the peanut butter mochi and... I've already gone back just for those. They also sell plain komochi that you can eat fresh the same day or freeze and use later for cooking. When they had penny candy machines, a big taxidermy deer head and the kindest owner. He once gave me and my sibling a big paper lunch bag full of candies! It has such a selection of candy from your childhood, and for kids, random unique gifts to keep them busy. but yesterday...all that flew out the window. I approached the sandwich counter and asked the person working (an angry woman apparently) what her favorite sandwiches are. After she took a minute to complain about how she had been making sandwiches all day and her brain is fried and she didn't really have any recommendations for me (and was seemingly annoyed at me even asking) she looked at the clock and advised that I was 2 minutes too late to order a hot sandwich. literally the 2 minutes she took to complain about her job cost me the sandwich. now, if it was my shop and a nice family came in and asked me my opinion on something and I took a minute or two to say the things that she said I would give them a sandwich and make that sandwich be the last sandwich of the day, but instead apparently my money wasn't green enough for her. She shut it down and two minutes later was out the door. she was rude, and honestly it just seemed that she didn't give an F. Today I called the store to speak with the owner and the person who answered the phone gave me the runaround. it was clear that either the workers didn't want to connect me with the owner or the owner doesn't want to hear the complaint. this place has gone downhill.
