Beyond Awful Not…read moreeven sure where to begin. We purchased materials and Marcelus from Beyond Floors came to provide the estimate. I guess I should have been wary when he was in and out in (literally) less than five minutes. The installers came, as planned and noted that, because of something that was missed on the estimate (a pocket door), we'd have to pay an additional $350! Just FYI, I did not have the pocket door installed between the time of the estimate and the date of the planned installation. So yeah - it was definitely missed. Not just my words, but we spoke directly to the estimator, Marcelus, who said (repeatedly) "Yes, I missed the door" and "This was my mistake." But he refused to absorb any of the cost. While we felt it was still unfair, we wanted the floor installed so we offered to split the difference. And in the same breath as he indicated it was his mistake, he still felt it was our responsibility to pay for it in its entirety. In a nutshell: "Yes, I messed up, but you will have to pay for my mistake." In addition, while on the phone with us, they must have instructed the installation team to quietly pack up and leave, which is what they did!!!! I couldn't believe it - we went out to speak with them and they were gone - had undone what they had started and quietly slunk away without a word to us. (Note: We do not feel the installation team was at fault here - just the owner/estimator). I cannot think of a more underhanded and unethical way of conducting business. It would be so nice if the business owner would simply take responsibility for their error and behave in an honest and reasonable manner. Please use caution if you are considering using this company. Beyond Floors (not to be confused with Beyond Flooring).

I…read moredefinitely underestimated how slow water damage is until what I thought was a very small leak from my upstairs neighbor grew from a 1/4-centimeter gap to over 3 inches. I remembered how much I liked Adrian when he fixed our screen door locks and painted our exterior doors, but I didn't think Lookswell Painting did any kind of mounting or cabinet repairs. After an exhausting amount of estimates and insurance calls, I finally contacted them thinking, "The worst they can tell me is 'no.'" To my delight, they agreed to investigate my cabinet sagging and the water damage. (As luck would have it, my over-the-range microwave survived and had no damage at all.) Instead of Adrian, Guillermo showed up, who was friendly, informative and easy to work with. We did have a hiccup with the microwave, which ended up being broken during the remount. That is the only reason I'm not giving this a five-star review. For consumers, I STRONGLY recommend filming and showing your electronic appliances work BEFORE any contractor arrives. It's difficult to prove that an appliance used to work (especially during a water damage repair) when it stops working mid-job. Couple other critiques were that the microwave doors were out of alignment and one set of cabinet doors was put in upside down. Although Jim (the owner) is absolutely NOT a people person and could've made a bad situation much much much worse, I respect that Guillermo was reasonably cool and Anthony (office manager) was professional and polite too. To Jim's credit, he did offer a happy medium with the microwave that my insurance would cover. I was relieved when Guillermo returned with Angel because this was a two-person job in the first place and over-the-range microwaves are heavy. Although it was obvious that Guillermo was not nearly as enthused be there the second time around, he and Angel did the job that needed to be done. He also tested and photographed the microwave remount and made sure I did too. I've walked past my kitchen and smile every time I see that the cabinet and microwave are fixed. Family came over for my birthday and also complimented the work this week. Even through the hiccups, I would still say this is a job well done and would continue to recommend them to others since 2020. While I wish it could've been a smooth repair the way the other one was, life happens. I still respect this company's work.

It's a good sign when they have a waiting list.   The attention to detail that Lenny's sister has while painting and caulking- it shows they take true pride in their work. When she would leave at the end of the day, she would wrap all her stuff up and leave the kitchen as nice as she could (all things considered). She understood we have 3 small kids (2yo,3yo,4yo) so we needed the kitchen accessible when they left. She made sure we could use it after they were gone for the day. The end product (as you can see from the photos) is beautiful. It looks even better in person! None of that got done. Called Mark, who dispatched same two guys - who came in with a cavalier attitude. Said my painters were in their way as why they missed windows. Then, when I pointed out dirty fingerprints on screen frames, untouched window housing, he said, oh, we don't do that part. It would have been easier for them to do the entire window rather than avoiding the parts they DON'T do. Simply ridiculous. Despite not completing the work and doing a very sloppy job on the work they did do, they still managed to send a $405 bill! Lost a very good customer.
