Great store and an even greater staff. Nice selection and very fair prices too. Recommending to stop by and check them out.

Chris, without any notice or discussion with us, decided to dismiss my son from the school this morning, because I responded to a SoR customer survey that he didn't like. My concern and issue was mainly with the new ownership who I believe has changed the 'School of Rock Farmington' from a music loving family culture to a money focused operation that takes advantage of the love we have for our kids. Shortly after Chris took over the Farmington location, my first conversation with him consisted with him telling me how poorly the school used to be run by the prior management and how he was going to make everything bigger and better. Soon after the ownership change, Eric, the former GM, along with many other staff members that we loved, were gone. While I really didn't like the changes that I was seeing, I eventually decided to ignore it because my son was so in love with drumming. And most recently, I had an "interaction" with Chris over paying cover for two young kids that we had in our group from this past Sunday's mid-season concert. When I asked him why our 6 yr old daughter and her 6 yr old cousin needed to pay for cover (because little kids didn't need to pay before), Chris immediately got defensive and angrily told me that since he became the owner at Farmington everyone needed to pay no matter how young. Then he went onto tell me how expensive it was for him to run the shows and called me "petty" for even bringing this up. My son really loved the school and all of his teachers and friends he made so far at SoR Farmington. He really fell in love with drumming and really fell in love with music, which I credit the prior SoR management, and all former and current teachers and staff members for. My son and my family loved the program and would like to thank everyone at 'School of Rock Farmington' that looked after him. He's currently heart broken, but I'm hopeful that he will find a better school that looks out more for the kids than their own ego and bottom line. P.S. My brother-in-law emailed Chris this morning (without me knowing) because our whole family is heartbroken right now. Chris responded back saying that he will have my son back in his school as long as I changed my review score to an 8. I have no intentions of making any compromises and don't need to have my son back at his money/review hungry institution. I hope Chris well too and wish him luck as he tries to make a ton of money off the kids that just wants to love music.

I ended up calling just before closing and Scott picked up to answer my questions. He was very patient and did not rush me at all. I was indifferent about ordering an expensive guitar out of state that I hadn't seen or played. To confirm the appearance of the website photos, Scott also sent photos from his own phone. We agreed on a competitive price including shipping. Before shipping, I also spoke to the guitar tech, Dave. We discussed the setup and action. He changed strings, polished the frets, treated the fingerboard and lowered the action. Both Scott and Dave were very friendly and professional throughout the sales process. The guitar showed up a day early, well packed and in perfect condition. Not a single scratch or blemish. It's a beautiful instrument and exactly as described on the RCMC site. Incredibly build quality. Next level compared to my Gibson SG Standard '61. It plays great and sounds fantastic. It's definitely a keeper and a perfect compliment to my Gibson. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Scott and Dave again. They support an honest shop of high integrity. I'd definitely recommend checking them out. Cheers! \m/ \m/

I'm especially impressed by Martin in Guitars. As a fledgling guitarist, he was extremely patient and knowledgeable in helping me select an instrument (several actually) over multiple store visits. This week's episode was no exception. Enter Alex in guitar repair: a man who doesn't just fix guitars -- he communes with them. Friendly, professional, and grinning like someone who's already lived three lives on stage, he's the sort of tech who could restring your instrument while telling war stories from the road and still have time to hand you a piece of rock' n' roll wisdom you didn't know you needed. He took our son's 12-string Breedlove and not only gave it new strings and perfect intonation but also injected it with some intangible mojo. Advice flowed like bourbon in a backstage greenroom -- tips he picked up when he was starting, plus the sort of tricks you only earn from years in the trenches. And then there's Martin, Executive Sales & Training Manager, a stalwart presence in these hallowed halls of gear. A handshake from Martin is like plugging into a well-worn amp -- warm, familiar, and humming with the promise of something great about to happen. From the moment we walked in, it was instant service, no fuss -- the kind of attention you usually have to beg for in this cold, transactional world. Instead, we were treated like returning royalty, which, after nearly thirty years of loyalty, feels exactly right. P.S. If you want to find the real players -- the road-tested pros who've ridden the highs and lows of the circuit -- you come here. These are the salt-of-the-earth musicians, the ones who've seen the lights go up and down a thousand times and are still here, passing the torch to the next generation.
