I would love to give these old hippies a high five, but I can't. Since I bought my guitar I have…read morehad challenges with the electronics and each time I called support I hit a brick wall. I'm now stuck with a guitar that I love to play, sounds fantastic and can't trust. I'm "stuck on the stage, giving a concert" when the sound goes out. Ugggg... Support can be challenging, especially when the product is not longer under warranty, because I purchased it second hand. But some advice would be really helpful dudes.

Breedlove is now part of the "Two Old Hippies" guitar family, along with a couple other builders…read more These guys build some of the best high end USA made Production level guitar around. Maybe not beating Martin or Taylor, but better than Gibson in my opinion and I own all of them plus a few more. The expensive Breedlove guitars are 5 stars for sure! They play beautiful, have great wood and sound lively and clear. They come with great cases and the electronics are non intrusive to the guitar. You don't even know they are there. Super cool ! Customer service ? you're kinda on your own and when you have troubles the service is shitty. The customer service lady Anne was terrible, she could not explain the repair process at all, she said she had no local repairs and I had to mail it just to look at it, with me paying both ways, then when I complained she suddenly had a semi local guy about an hour away. She had attitude and was not knowledgable about the guitar I was calling about and treated me with a condescending attitude. And when I proved she was wrong, she got even more attitude and made the whole experience uncomfortable when I was just trying to talk about the guitar. Very defensive for customer service. I will probably not buy a Breedlove since customer service is kinda nil. Taylor and Martin have much better service and local repair masters. WHY 2 stars then???? I paid $3,500 for a guitar, that is not working cause of how it was built, this is the third time I had issue with the warrantee, (they fixed one, I fixed one issue) and now I'm being really nice and not getting mad yet I'm treated shitty on the phone and email. People need to know this before buying.

I'm continually blown away by Butch's craftsmanship and service…read more -He's fixed a broken headstock on my Gibson Les Paul Standard flawlessly. He faithfully restored my father's 1961 Gretsch Tennessean to daily player status. He's done numerous setups for me on all my quality guitars, and they're always spot-on! I make the trek all the way up from Los Angeles to SLO because he does the best work I've seen. -So when my grandmother asked me if I knew anyone who could repair the guitar she bought as a 25th wedding anniversary gift for my now-departed grandfather, I was excited to see how Butch could turn the family heirloom around and restore it to its original smooth playable glory. -The vintage 1966 Martin D18 needed quite a bit of work (neck reset, re-fret, bridge repair, pickguard/finish repair). It was used (and abused) for years in my grandparents' bluegrass band. Thankfully Grandma was the original purchaser, and Butch was happy to put in the leg-work to make sure her guitar was covered under its 43-year-old original factory warranty (even though the factory's reimbursement rates aren't quite comparable to what he could have made on the project if he'd charged out-of-pocket). What a guy! -I picked the guitar up on Tuesday after a couple weeks' turnaround time, and it's an understatement to say my confidence in Butch has been reaffirmed! The Martin plays like a new guitar, only with the same full vintage tone and priceless history. -Butch has already followed up via email to make sure we're fully satisfied. He actually cares! The only way the family could be more pleased would be if Grandpa was still here to pick a little "Turkey in the Straw" on it himself. -He's also got a fine selection of consignment guitars hanging in his shop at perfectly reasonable prices as well. And if Butch is vouching for them, you know they're quality instruments. -Do yourselves a favor: Trust Butch.
