Cons: It bugs me when the schools are cutting corners. It's shocking that they use a demolished site as a recital spot. it's financial savvy of them to have their own recital venue that increase their margin. BUT if the independent piano teacher or tiny schools can pull out a decent recital experiences for students, How can this massive school use a pre-demolished site for recital. It will not get better even if they remodeled as it's just a sad space among all their future classrooms.

We left when the CHILDREN started introducing the songs politically and the parents likely weren't in agreement (only one person in the packed out audience clapped). That ruined it. This was supposed to be a celebration of San Ramon's kid's achievements. Politics??? Really? Politics weren't what these parents were here for. More importantly politics are not appropriate when the kids are too young to have strong discernment between what their teachers are telling them to say and what they are seeking to understand and cultivate for themselves. Because they're kids and they're getting a cool opportunity to perform, they might even be too intimidated to refuse to say it ...which is straight up exploitation. School of Rock: please don't manipulate our kids that way, stay in your lane. Parents: be advised that you will not be your child's only moral influence when you send them to this music school. They don't just grow talent. They tell them what to believe and you might not agree.

We learned of Donna…read moreby folks in our neighborhood through the Nextdoor App. Lucky for us, she is located very close to home. Donna is very patient and has a passion for teaching piano. Our daughter adores her and has learned so much since starting lessons a year ago. Donna rewards her students with stickers each week, and after a certain amount of stickers they get to choose a small prize. This is a good incentive to complete their piano homework. We also really enjoyed being able to see our daughter participate in the recent spring recital, and see all of the other students performances, too! Recently, our daughter complained of being "bored" with some of the songs in her practice books, and Donna gave her a fun, Disney themed book to practice with. These are "fun" songs she can practice, along with her regular homework book. After one year, our only criticism is that we feel there has been little communication from Donna to us parents about how our daughter is progressing, what she is learning, whether she is having to repeat any lessons, etc. We've expressed our concern and Donna will be providing a quarterly progress report for us.
