I have never seen a company stand behind their products quite like this. My daughter purchased all of her DJ equipment at Guitar Center. During a recent restaurant gig, her speakers blew out suddenly and unexpectedly. She was embarrassed and devastated. The next day, we phoned the speaker manufacturer and they told us to go to Guitar Center to have them replaced at no cost, as they were still within the warranty period. We figured there was no way it could be that simple, but it was. When we got to Guitar Center, Sidney (the manager) swapped out the old speakers for brand new ones, no questions asked. I can't tell you how reassuring this was for me and my daughter. We are so glad we purchased her equipment at Guitar Center. This store gets an A+ in my book. Thank you, Guitar Center. read more

We recently had a guitar restrung. All went as expected and it sounds great. Price was reasonable too. No brainer.

Dropped off an electric guitar to have the output jack looked at and a restring. Friday morning, repair guy says it will be ready Saturday or Sunday and he would call. No call and no one answered the phone so I went in Sunday afternoon to get it. It was sitting in a store room untouched. The front desk said the repair guy is not in again until Tuesday but promised me a call with an update. Again NO CALL and no answer when trying to avoid a 20 min drive to the store just to check in. Why can't anyone answer the phone?! Day 5 of them having the guitar, Drove in again Tuesday night to check on the guitar. Jack was still loose, worse than before and totally unplayable now and no evidence of it getting restrung. Took my guitar and left. What a joke, what do you pay your repair guy to actually do? Guitar is now in worse shape than when I took it in since he loosened the jack even more to inspect it. Thanks for damaging my guitar. I would call and report this to a manager but again, no one answers the phone. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more

Went in to look at a column array I have been researching (JBL Eon One Mk2). The floor model to the one was not working at all and Corey helped me out with testing a brand new one before considering buying it. He left me to play around with it privately and not bother me. I bought a great Martin Cut away Acoustic guitar from this store in Dubin in 2024.... and while I wanted to really learn to play it... I saw it as a big hurdle to overcome. Unfortunately, because of my mindset, I let it sit in the corner of my home office all that time. I finally started Guitar lessons back in January of this year with Chris Dunleavy, my teacher once every week for 30 minute sessions. WOW.......This has been the greatest thing in the world I did to get this new skill heading in the right direction. Learning to play the guitar doesn't happen over night, just like anything else we learn that is worthwhile. Chris helped me to make progress week by week, step by step, skill by skill. He is an accomplished musician, just like ALL of the instructors in that store. I now know for a fact, that I will accomplish, together with Chris exactly where I want to go. Im seeing it come alive week by week ane Im so happy with the results,. I started with zero Guitar skills. I am actually playing songs now. The entire staff in this store all amazing!! Its like a fun place to be for learning and support - super cool family culture and they all love music. Shout out to Sid the store manager for creating a great culture, Cathryn Price - the manager of the instructors and lessons department - truly a "PRICE"less personality; and of course to Chris my personal instructor!! Attentive and helpful staff! More helpful at this site than the San Jose location. Last time I went to the SJ store, I waited about 25 minutes until a staff member approached me. I normally check out speakers and lighting whenever I'm at GC. This time, I was in the market for a new 88-key digital piano. Initially, I ordered a brand new Roland from them during a holiday sale, to be delivered to my house. But the one that was delivered was obviously used or a floor model, not in original box with no power adaptor and manual. So I returned it to this store and reordered a brand new Roland keyboard, in box! Staff was very helpful and understanding in this process. These pianos at the time were back-ordered, so I had no problem waiting for it. I opted for the keyboard to be sent to the store instead of my house, just to be sure it's exactly what I wanted. Almost 3 months later, staff notified me that my (unopened) piano finally arrived. I was appreciative that they were still apologetic about the earlier mishap. Thanks to the Dublin team for following up with me, honoring the initial holiday sale price (from months ago), and loading the piano in my car! read more

I hadn't been here in awhile (or any of my other favorite stores) thanks to Covid. It could be because of the fact I stopped in on Christmas Eve (wasn't busy at all by the way) after a few day rush, or maybe another reason but I was surprised how dirty the store actually was. Tags, pieces of cardboard, plastic bits, and stuff tracked in on people's shoes was all over the floor. Many of the shelves had a thick layer of dust on them too. My first response was possible Covid cut backs on staff, but there seemed to be quite a few associates standing around and available. With that said, I had atleast 3 people ask me if I needed assistance, and everyone was super helpful, knowledgeable about the product offerings, and helped me pick out the gift I needed. I'll try not to wait as long for my next visit, and look forward to updating my review at that time. read more

Absolutely despicable service and experience from the Dublin Guitar Center. We made a $2k purchase online for store pickup in Dublin because they said they had it in stock. We received the confirmation that it was ready to pickup the same day. The next day we drove 40 miles to pick it up and it all went downhill fast. We arrived at the store and parked in their designated pickup spots to check in. We waited over 30 minutes and saw people who came after us leave before us with their equipment. Someone finally comes out, says we're all good good to go and puts our setup in the backseat. The item did not come in a box and was loose so we assumed it was just the floor model, no biggie. The associate says it wasn't in the right place and that's why it took so long. We head out to grab lunch before driving back home and as we go to move it to the trunk so it won't get stolen we notice that nothing was included, no cables, no manual, no power supply at all. We call the store and say that we just picked up an order and they didn't give us any of the accessories it comes with. The first person doesn't say anything about the situation and just asks "from who?" I'm supposed to remember someone's name when they don't introduce themselves and the interaction last 2 minutes. Luckily we remembered seeing 2 letters and ultimately figured out the person. The first person hands off the phone to the person that gave us the equipment and didn't explain anything so we had to go over the same speech that they didn't give us anything and the first things they say is "oh shit", asks what kind of cord is missing (how the hell should I know if you don't give a cord or a manual) and says he will put us on hold and check the back. We never received an apology. We were on hold for 20 minutes and someone else picks up and asks "who are you holding for?" then they put us back on hold. Finally the person that originally helped up gets back on the lines and says they can't find it and has to try calling the Ops Manager, and would call us back when they found it. We share that we need it resolved now because we need to get back home since we have plans after lunch and a 40 mile trip each way is not tenable. The person then gets an attitude when it's not our fault. Your store said it was ready the day before, to find out it wasn't ready or even in the right spot. Again, no apology through the entire exchange. We grab lunch and drive back to the store. There were at least 5 employees walking around the store, not including the person that looks like they are stationed at lessons. Multiple pass by and say they'll help us in a minute but none of them ever came back. Finally after a man finishes a sale, he starts messing with inventory while we were literally standing there while he finished the previous transaction and pulled items from the back. Finally he asks "have you been helped" and we go over the same song and dance of explaining and he hands us some generic cords and a computer printed and stapled packet and says "here you go". No box, no apology, no explanation. We ask if these are official cords from the manufacturer that come with the setup and he says "what?" we ask again and he says "it's just a standard XX cord" in the worst attitude. We ask well what happens if it's not working or causes an issue. "Bring it back" that's it end of conversation. This was by far the worst experience we've had in a long time at any store and not one apology when the issues were all caused by this store. Again, their store said it was in stock, their store said it was ready for pickup the day before, their store put it in the wrong place, their store didn't give us any of the cords or manuals, their store NEVER apologized. Like saying sorry and reassuring that the cords would work and saying that if anything goes wrong we could bring it back could have conveyed the exact same message but left us with a better experience overall. The only positive goes to the dude at the lessons table that came up with the HunterxHunter shirt on who was friendly. read more

Saw online they had a used PRS SE electric guitar that I was interested in. I like to try out guitars before buying. I am so happy that Guitar Center sells used instruments and that there are physical stores where we can check them out. The salesman Mik helped me out. He was great. He was very nice and very knowledgeable. He told me he has owned PRS guitars and he gave me a lot of helpful information. I did end up getting the guitar and Mik made the buying experience a nice one. read more

I usually try to shop from my local small businesses, but when looking for a banjo for Xmas gift giving, my local music store didn't have one. Guitar Center had them in stock, and since the closest one is 45 min away from me, I ordered for online for store pickup, to avoid the lines. It took the store a full day to have my banjo ready for pickup...when ready, I made the drive. When going in the store, I saw two long lines at the cash register but was relieved to see a small line at the pickup desk. I waited about 15 min until my turn.... Then the employee told me I had to wait in the long line with everyone else. What? He saw me waiting there.... At the desk that said Customer Service and Pick-ups!?!? I voiced my frustration and the went to the back of the line. Finally when I made my way back to the front, I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to find my order! He finally came back with my banjo in a box. When I got home, I saw the banjo had not been prepared with the bridge - and there were no instructions!!!!! I am so thankful for my local music store, Main Street Music in downtown Tracy. I took the banjo to them - they installed the bridge and tuned the instrument for me - something any neighborhood store would do for you when you buy an instrument. Can't say enough about Nathan at your Dublin location. I drove an hour from Modesto for good customer service and I'm so glad I did. I came in not knowing a single thing about drums and he took the time and walked me through about 5 different drum sets, amps, pedals, chairs etc until we found the perfect setup. I'm a DM for a sales company, and you guys should feel lucky to have him. I would have recruited him in a heartbeat if I didn't believe he was going to do big things in the music industry. Its nice to be able to try a new guitar, but I like new guitars not ones hung up on the wall and "Tested" for months. The guitar hangers can be problematic and damage the headstock. I just returned a "new" Les Paul" b/c of that issue. It was in reality actually open box and damaged. GC needs to protect the "new" guitars from pocket keys, coins, belt buckles, studs etc. Attentive employees are needed to watch rookies from messing up guitars. Better hangers are required. read more

(This review is for my experience about 2.5 years ago) They have a pretty generous return policy for the guitars. However, the guy seemed a little bit annoyed when I returned the guitar near the end of the return window. If that's the case I think it would probably be better just to make the return window shorter. One thing I wished I'd remembered to do was offered to pay for the strings. They'd been pretty worn out by the time I returned the guitar. What happened was I initially bought the guitar (a $600 Martin) intending to keep it and use it for my song for the short film "Let's Eat". I practiced my butt off. Then a miracle happened and I found a legit guitarist who was not only better than me but owned a much better-sounding guitar. We ended up recording his playing and it saved the song. To decide whether to keep the guitar I then did an A/B comparison between my playing and his. The difference was quite palpable not only in the playing but also in the fundamental sound quality of the guitars themselves. I could not justify keeping this guitar knowing that my standards had risen and I wouldn't even use it in my own songs in the future. If anything, if I wanted to keep a guitar it would have to be better than the one I had bought. So I returned this guitar knowing that in the future I might want to buy and keep a better guitar from Guitar Center. The guy at the counter was also the one who served me on the day I bought the guitar, so he might've assumed I was taking advantage of their return policy. I wanted to set the record straight that absolutely none of the sound produced by that guitar was used in any of my songs/recordings. read more

I have been playing guitar for about five years, self taught. I went down there from where I live which took about half an hour to get there because I wanted to look at some acoustic guitars. that room where they have all the guitars up on the wall that little sound room I started trying out a guitar and a salesman comes in. Keep in mind that I understand sales yada yada yada. I was having a difficult enough time trying to listen to the tone and sound of the guitar and try to remember different songs that I knew and the salesman kept talking to me. It was quite annoying and had he not been there I possibly might've bought a guitar if I could try many of them out. A better approach in being a salesman would be to come in talk to the person momentarily if there's any questions that I can answer my name is blah blah blah here's my business card. If they found a guitar that I wanted to purchase I would go to that salesman and have him bring up the purchase. I will go back there again because they have a lot of other things then guitars sheet music etc. Just don't have high-pressure sales tactics to make a sale I am a senior citizen case you were wondering. read more

Dublin guitar center are pretty friendly and helpful for dad rockers and kids without the usual music snobbery though they are a bit understaffed. I've bought a couple of new pieces of gear and usually they let me apply the 15% off of try there best to get a good deal. Parking is easy to access. They have separate drum room with a kit and nice acoustic guitar room with good selection. Electric guitar and amp selection is good, but not amazing but is you know what you want or can order for pick up and the staff is pretty accommodating. read more

Definitely a talented group asking you if you need help and also letting you browse their vast inventory of musical instruments and equipment. The coolest part is you can try anything out, I mean go ahead make some music or if you're a newbie make some noise. I was there to purchase a guitar amp, asked a couple questions and was surprised at how knowledgeable their staff was of each device. Unfortunately they didn't have the amp I wanted...and I'm sure now I didn't really know what I wanted especially since I was pressed for time. Took my son to Guitar Center today to check out options for getting him an electric guitar. Checked all throughout the store and there are tons of options but I wasn't seeing what I was looking for. I decided to ask the sales rep., Sean for assistance in finding something in the price range I was looking for. Sean was very friendly and took his time learning what I wanted. He looked up options that didn't appear on the shelves and I wouldn't have known I had these options if it weren't for his help. I was able to go thru at least 4 options that I found viable for my son and because he was willing to hunt through their inventory, I found the perfect Epiphone SG for my son. If it weren't for his help I would have likely left the store and tried finding options online or elsewhere. Additionally he spent time looking for cases and showed me around the store for any other accessories we may need. Amazing customer service, I'll definitely be back for any other musical needs we have. I trust these guys. read more

I wouldn't place an online order here ever again. The staff doesn't care about you at all unless they're getting a commission off you. I bought an expensive piece of equipment and they bring it out in the rain with no box. I get sometimes things come off the floor and that's OK, but as I'm driving away I realize they didn't even give me a power cord or manual. I call and they can't find the stuff, no apology. I tell them I'll be back after lunch and they can have found the original cables or I'll return the item. They promise to call me back. I show up, no call back by the way, and they toss some third party cables at me and cope an attitude with me when I ask if they're the original cables telling me this is what they have to give me. I ask what are they going to do if there's an issue and they continue with an attitude that I can just bring it back. Absolutely no apology, no customer service, and acted like I was inconvinencing them by making them address their mistake. I had started doing a lot of business with guitar center and planned on doing a lot more, but not if this is how it's going to be when I go in store. I needed a strap to try a bass but for the first time ever they wouldn't lend me a strap, guy literally said no you have to try the bass without a strap. There's not any point to trying an instrument if you can't play it properly. Don't know if this is some new policy but ya'll are going to have a hard time selling instruments if you can't provide some basics. Mik is awesome!! I called in to see if they had the Gibson Les Paul HP 2018, as well as if the online Cyber-Monday-week discounts applied in store, and I received a no to both questions. I was bummed, but when I mentioned to my wife that I had called other Guitar Centers and they said that both were true, she encouraged me to call again, because perhaps I ran into someone who might not have known what they were talking about. I was so glad I did! This time I got Mik on the phone, and he reassured me that yes, they had the guitar, and yes, the discounts did apply. And beyond that, because this guitar is going out of season in favor of the new model, he was able to offer me an extra 10% off!! I was absolutely stoked, and I had Mik put the guitar on hold for me while my wife and I drove to come pick it up. When I arrived, Mik gave us great care and attention, and was very knowledgeable and helpful while I was asking him questions about how to properly care for the guitar. This is my dream guitar, and he really helped me figure out how to make it last a lifetime! I wouldn't even be sitting here with this beautiful guitar in my lap if it weren't for Mik and the hard work he did for me. You're the best man, I can't thank you enough!! read more

They sold my parents a broken product which I received as a gift so I didn't know until months later when I tried to use it. Went in to get a replacement. I was very friendly and polite yet the guy made "calm down" hand motions and expressions along with his tone which was not pleasant. Maybe because I'm female? Not sure. He didn't even suggest contacting the manufacturer or anything helpful. Basically said not our problem. I've dropped a lot of money there over the years but will shop elsewhere in the future. So this is my updated review for this place. I went to the grand opening and it was really nice. I've had been to this guitar center over 6 times in hopes to have a better experience. This is by far the WORST guitar center I have been to and I have been to many. The customer service here is horrible, not to mention that the employees ignore customers. I asked for help and TWICE I received the same response of help. The first person just pointed to a general location. Then after having trouble finding more of a selection of the item I wanted I asked another employee. He pointed in the general direction as well and did not even stop to talk to me, he talked to me as he was passing and didn't even look at me. Not to mention a few months ago, I was made fun of by one of their employees. He made fun of me and didn't even know I had lost my hearing in one of my ears. The employee literally through a tuner at me like a gesture to say I didn't know how to tune a guitar. I called him on his gesture and explained to him I lost my hearing do to my service overseas in the military. I was not happy about that, I was really offended, but I forgave that person. However, constantly dealing with horrible customer service, I am completely disappointed with this store. Just horrible...please do something about this problem. read more

I never have any problem with guitar center before. just this particular location. First time, I was in the area for work. And they have what I waa looking for according to their website. I rather have it in hand so I stopped by. I was standing there for 30 minutes and nobody even want to acknowledge me. employees were just passing in front of me & helping someone else. At least say hi and tell me they are helping someone else at the moment. but nope. not a single person. Second time. I'm looking for a particular guitar. Again, I rather have it right away. Concord & Dublin both have it. But I decided to do a curveside pickup here since I needed there's a Dick's Sporting Goods next to it. And they have the brace that I was looking for as well. Drove 40 minutes to get to this location. I checked in for curveside pickup. I've been waiting for over 20 minutes. I called the store if they're busy & if I needed to go inside. I was passed around on the phone. Until someone actually came out & ask to see me I.D. They she said ok, I'll be back. I'll grab it for you. I came out of the car so I can up it in trunk. Another person came out. Told him, just put it down & I'll just put it myself. He asked for my I.D. Which I left inside the car. I told I already showed it to the other lady & I need to go. Been waiting here for more than 20 minutes. He replied, well gotta do what we got to do. And started being a smart ass. I waa trying to say something else & he kept talking over & again. Being a smart ass. Been a customer of guitar center for years. I've been to a lot of locations even in Southern California and other state. This is the only location that I encountered rude people.
