I came across Jordan Music on Yelp and gave John a call. He explained how he would work the damage with Superglue in layers and go from there. It wasn't a sales pitch, it was like he was running the process through his mind, recollecting how he would do it. John works out of his garage, so don't be put off if you're expecting a showroom. I was a little worried when I left the guitar with him but that went away when I picked up the finished work. I could not be happier with the results! We ended up going with Walnut Creek Music Exchange for a number of reasons. First of all, their price is highly competitive. We purchased a used piano. The price offered was very good for a super well maintained used piano (they certified it before putting it on the floor). They also have a 10 year trade up program that we may apply every dollar that we spent on this piano to trade up for a different piano within the next 10 years, as long as the second piano is at least 2 times the price of the first piano. Their moving cost is super affordable, about 25% the price compared to other piano moving companies. Secondly, customer service is excellent. Store manager Carson blocked out one hour to spend with our family and patiently explained each piano to us. He even played songs on a few pianos that we were interested in so we could hear difference of the sounds from each piano brand. Lastly, their professionalism is unbeatable. The piano came within 2 days after purchase, tuned! They also gave us a free voucher to have the piano tuned again whenever we like within one year! We highly recommend Music Exchange Walnut Creek!

Salesman Buddy showed us several affordable options and he truthfully told us the one we fell in love with was badly out of tune and offered to have it tuned for free before we made a final decision. As I was writing down my contact information for him, my husband and daughter fell out of love with the old piano and in love with a brand new digital piano which was priced $ 3,000 below retail price!!! No, Buddy didn't tell me this price difference we knew it as it was the new version of the old digital we just sold and did our homework lol The piano was delivered with white glove service to our house in less than 24 hours after purchase and now my house is filled with beautiful music again.

He was also close by and I wanted to support a local luthier. Took a Martin 00 18 I had just gotten off of reverb for a set up and k&k install. Also brought a Yamaha fs5 for him to fix a loose jack from a previous k&k install. Right away he seemed really insistent that the Yamaha needed a set up too. I have played 100 gigs with that guitar with zero problems but I against my better judgement was curious what he would do. All he ended up doing was lowering the action so low that it buzzes when I strum chords on it. It had never buzzed even once before he touched it. With the Martin I'm not even sure he even did anything with the setup as the playability is as bad as it was when I gave it to him and he is the only tech I have ever had install a k&k pure mini where it was done incorrectly. You have to crank up the amp so loud to get any volume out of it that the hum from the amp cranked up will be louder than the sound from the guitar itself. A lot of bad work for charging me $325. I didn't want to react right away and let some time pass to see if things would change. They have not. I asked him for a refund and he said he won't consider a refund until he has a chance to fix the guitars he already fucked up. He simply doesn't care. He should have never said the guitars were ready for pickup and asked me to give him $325 if he didn't think the guitars were ready. Now he wants a chance to fuck the guitars up past the point of a better luthier to repair. Seriously disappointing experience. He seemed like a nice guy, but do not under any circumstances let him mess up your acoustic guitars.
