I was a bit nervous about taking my guitar to have repaired here due to unfortunately bad experience at another location years ago, but I have to tell you from the first conversation with Andrew the guitar wizard I was put to ease. From the moment he answered the phone I knew that I had found the right place. Andrew kept me in the loop through the entire process and he was very nice and helpful. This location has been around for a very long time! As a matter of fact, I believe this was the location where I purchased my first (acoustic) guitar...and that was a couple of decades ago. Compared to some other locations, I don't think this particular store has a huge footprint, but it seems like there is still a great selection of many types of instruments. We came here to pick up a cord for my nephew since he just got a new amp. So we didn't need a lot of help on this visit, but for the limited interaction we did have, the folks here were super friendly and helpful. I'm guessing the parking lot was a little more busy than usual since it was around the holidays, but there is a devoted lot to the stores in this area and parking was pretty easy. read more

The selection and customer service was on point. I've been coming to this store since I was a kid with my parents. It's nice being able to take my kids here. This past summer, I got a 30 minute free guitar lesson. I picked up a guitar and some other stuff. I purchased more lessons and I'm still working at it and having fun. Henry over the summer wanted to try a 30 minute free drum lesson. Really liked it and it was excited to show his mom what he learned when he got home. At the store yesterday, Henry mentioned that he wanted to look for his guitar and his drumsticks at his mom's house. Bennett specifically asked to come back to the store yesterday. He wanted to try a free 30 minute keyboarding lessons. He is very, very excited. He is 7. The store was very busy yesterday the weekend before Christmas. We were able to get a 30 minute free lesson for Bennett, for today. This is a great store with great staff and great selection a staple for the community. read more

Ivan was amazing! He helped me with an EVH iconic amp header for my son. There was a pricing issue on the used gear and it was not much less than a new one. Unfortunately I didn't realize that until after the purchase. I then returned the used one and had them order me a new one. The manager, Lauren came to the rescue! She processed return and facilitating the ordering and shipping of the new one. She expedited the shipping and didn't charge me for it to make up for the pricing issue and receding a lot of time there. Lauren and Ivan turned what could've been a not so pleasant experience into a great one! Music equipment isn't cheap so when you're dropping $1,400.00 or so on it, the service and troubleshooting of the staff really makes a huge difference. I'm glad to see GC monitors their complaints. However, resolving them doesn't seem as important. I did finally receive an email back from GC, stating they would implement new policies to prevent further complaints. They also asked how they could keep me as a valued customer, which I commented. This was on Oct 9, and I never received a response back. This saddens me, as I've been a customer for over 30+ yrs. However, I just built another studio and had no issues using Sweetwater. read more

I've tried to give this Guitar Center location multiple chances, but after my most recent experience, I'm done. Over the past few visits, the quality of service has consistently fallen short. I've purchased a bass that turned out to be broken and a 7-string guitar that wasn't properly set up. That's on me for not checking more thoroughly at the time, but still--these are basic expectations for a music store. My last visit was the final straw. I was only there to buy an instrument cable. While waiting in line, I watched a customer ahead of me get full, enthusiastic service from a staff member--walking them through multiple purchases, offering tips, the whole deal. As soon as it was my turn, that same employee got on the phone and acted like I didn't exist. I even placed the cable in front of him and waited patiently. Ten minutes passed before I asked to check out, and suddenly he tells me, "Oh, I'm not a sales rep." You weren't a sales rep five minutes ago when you sold a guitar, amp, and accessories with a smile? Eventually, someone else helped me, and the energy across the entire store was cold and uncomfortable. There were only three customers inside--if that's considered "crazy" or "busy" by their standards, that's a whole different problem. Bottom line: I didn't feel welcomed, and I didn't feel respected. I'm a professional musician and a paying customer. I should never feel like an inconvenience, especially not in a store that claims to support artists. Do better, Guitar Center. read more

This guitar center is so small and narrow that it feels so cramped. The amps are in the middle and it feels hard to play with it's so cramped and everyone squished together. They have a lot of guitar inventory however I never find one I like. Much much smaller location than others for sure and it feels cramped with all the stuff and people inside. read more

My daughter has taken a new interest in guitars and I have no knowledge of guitars whatsoever. We talked to Antonius and he gave us a great tip that the bundle was great for beginners and included everything you needed- electric guitar, amp, cables, picks, strap, and gig bag. They didn't have the color my daughter wanted at the store so we ordered it online and received in about 5 days. When we got it, one of the guitar strings was broken so we took it to the store and Caleb fixed it for us without any issues. He took his time to find the right string and also showed my daughter how to replace the string of her new guitar. He was very knowledgeable and was patient explaining all the steps. I Had not been to a Guitar Center Store before, I have 2 Vintage Fender Guitars I wanted to sell. (In nearly mint condition). When I arrived at the Concord location, I waited a long time (20 mins) standing in line while the employees helped someone ahead of me. What I saw was two employees dedicating all their attention to the customer until whatever the issue was, was solved. After watching this I was expecting the same treatment. Especially since I had two beautiful vintage Fender Instruments to sell. I was approached by a different employee who offered help me. after a brief conversation about my gear and pulling out the first guitar, the employee informed me that I would have to wait at least an hour if not longer for the vintage team to get back to him with a possible offer. Ok, like I said I have never been in this store and I have never tried to sell an instrument before. I had to take the employees word and trust he knew what he was talking about. After a little over an hour I returned to check the status, but I had to wait again for a while because the employee was on a break. already it was going on 2 hours and the only thing that was done was some pictures and an email. When the employee returned and checked the status, there was an email from the vintage team with an offer. I accepted the offer. I was expecting the next step to be a bit of paperwork and a sale with the employee dedicating his time and attention to me like the other employees. I was then put on an indefinite hold while the employee helped other customers, putting them ahead of me. While a second employee was standing next to him not doing anything. I took my grievance to a different employee up front, that employee was snarky and condescending , so I went back to gather my gear and leave the store. I did ask to speak with the manager, however the manger never came out. The employee was holding my gear pawing all over it joking and laughing with the second employee. I grabbed my gear and let them know they are not the sharpest tools in the shed. Of course after experiencing this level of unprofessionalism I have no desire to ever return to this store. read more

I was really excited about this sale and, at about 1pm today (election day), after my physical therapy in Concord, CA, walked across the street to Guitar Center to spend some money on a set of e-drums. The gent behind the counter welcomed me in, but was more focused on his phone. Three other store techs were talking to one customer. One of them may have said hello as i walked to the drum room. As I entered the room, another tech walked out of the room and said nothing to me. I sat down and tested the feel of the bass drum pedal on four sets. No one bothered to ask me if I needed help for about 5 minutes. There may have been 1-2 other customers in the store, but the techs definitely outnumbered customers. As i walked out, the guy behind the counter was still focused on his phone. I commented about not being asked if I needed help. He put his phone down and picked up a ukulele and said he was "setting it up." He did apologize for no one asking me if I needed help. I thanked him and walked out of the store. I bought my last edrum set at the GC in San Francisco, but you've lost my business. This is why consumers use Amazon... I hate to do that which is why i came to the brick and mortar. If you want ro stay in business, you've got to try to make a difference with better personal service. read more

Every time I stop in this GC location I'm given a friendly welcome when enter. The staff are so nice here! I'm always asked if I need assistance, and I always say yes. Antonius is awesome; very knowledgeable and helpful. Matthew, Richard and Tahid are great too! It's nice to have such wonderful staff members in different departments of the store. I typically come in to get gifts or gift cards for other people, since I don't play any instruments, but I always enjoy walking around and looking in all their different rooms; and it's easy to get help when I need it. I went into this store, curious what it had to offer, but expecting a monopoly experience (overpriced product with sub-par service) because music stores are few and far between these days. Well, I'll state that I am more than happy I took the time to check it out in person! Jose and the team there are more than kind and do an outstanding job at performing top-notch customer service. Retailers would do good to take notes from how this store is ran. The service was so good, I excitedly revisited the next day with my wife and kids so they can see how a real music store is. The staff welcomed them with open arms, inviting the kids to check out various instruments and learn about the instruments that are used to make the music that they love. My purchase was a very comfortable one. No pressure at all. 10/10 recommend to anyone and everyone who is shopping for anything music related, to check out this store! The staff here is truly amazing and have made me feel extremely valued on every visit. I'm going to revise this review on my next visit as I don't recall the names of the two gentleman that assisted me however they went above and beyond. The exceptional customer service deserved the recognition and I won't feel good until I'm able to praise them by name. This was not my first experience of exceptional treatment therefore it is necessary to give this store and the staff the highest praise. I will never again even think about ordering online or going elsewhere to purchase anything guitar center supplies or can order. You have earned a life long customer and I appreciate the top tier service. You just don't receive the level of customer service I've received here. Came into Guitar Center in Concord to buy an electric guitar for our son and had a price match from another music store. Guitar Center's price match guarantee was honored, however, the specific guitar they had to sell was just the floor model, so we chose to go with the original store and had it shipped instead. The guy that helped us was friendly and helpful, it just didn't work out. On another note, when we arrived-there were 2 police cars in front of Guitar Center and a worker from the neighboring Hobby Lobby store was giving what we assumed was her statement, it looked like she might've been mugged, as she was visibly shaken and upset. I highly suggest anyone who shops in this center be on high alert as it is not a safe area being located near the freeway and riverbed/trail. Something to think about during the Holidays. I ordered an electric guitar starter set and a tuner. Both times Curbside pickup was a problem. So far I am on trip #2 and still can't complete the order. I checked in for curbside. Waited 10 minutes. Decided to call the store. A representative which I won't mentioned here said. I will be right out. I waited another 15 minutes and went inside. I explained I have been waiting for a while and asked where my curbside order was and he said. We aren't doing curbside today. We don't have enough staff. I was like I'm inside the store. Awwww, man! Went by today to replace a brand new 5th (A) classical guitar string that busted during restringing. I didn't have a receipt as the service rep that I had bought them from 3-4 days ago asked if I had wanted one, so I just said no. Today their customer service rep without a receipt ( all I had with me was the busted new string and the package the set had come in) made an executive decision and gave a whole new set! Damn did not expect that, my friends! I was just ready and willing to buy a new string but since they came in a set and he had no individuals, he just comped me the set! Yeah, they only cost me $11.00 bucks initially, but the way I was treated was way beyond my expectation! I feel bad as I didn't even ask the guy his name, but his a tall gentleman (6 ft.?), thin, early to mid 30 's, long wavy hair, pulled back into a pony tail. Thanks, man! I recently had to come to the guitar center with my son to look for a mic and guitar pic. I'm giving the guitar center five stars for their social distancing practices and taking care of their employees and customers. There are 6 feet guidelines outside their store to maintain social distancing and the employees let customers in one at a time. The store does require customers to wear a facial mask and the employees were facial mask as well. When you walk into the store they do have hand sanitizer for your convenience. The store is set up with painters tape to assure customers do not handle demos and also maintain a 6 feet distance. Wow there I did witness a gentleman outside yelling at the employees to let him in because he did not want to wait outside with everybody else. He felt that because he saw people walking out everyone should be able to walk in. Kudos to the employee who remain calm and explained the situation on how guitar center was handling customers due to Covid. I wish I would have gotten her name because she did an amazing job. I cannot believe that people are so rude to essential workers. No employee should have to deal with rude customers. And by the way this guitar center has everything that you would need for your audio and instrument needs. read more
