First and form most Absolutely amazing customer service! Entire team needs to shout out. I see no negative qualities at rock and Robbie's Concord. I am a beginner now and learning. I had nothing but ambition. Just like a normal person does when looking into something new, you compare and Contrast all the competitors within the same Business. Rock and Robbie's not only has amazing customer service. They are welcoming. The place is clean. They are very knowledgeable and their pricing is competitive. They are very affordable. Upon when you enter the building you get greeted. The layout of the store is very user friendly. You can see where everything is laid out. If you have any questions, they have gentlemen name Zach at the front, and he is very knowledgeable. Also extremely friendly. Not only I've purchased from that store, but I take a lessons there with an instructor name, Adam. I cannot emphasize enough how good he is at what he does. I've been going there for a couple months, and I went from knowing nothing to playing my own thing and be able to acompany myself with my instrument. Finally, I wanna thank everybody for making me feel so welcome there and if I can recommend this place to anybody definitely shop small. Small businesses really take care of their clientele! read more

My son's first year joining his school's music program and we chose Rockin' Robbie's to rent his snare and bell kit. It is a little scary because they don't offer an accidental insurance with the rental but the owner was really nice and took the time to explain their policy to offer some reassurance. She was very straightforward and professional. She also took some time to show my son the contents of the instrument kit, how to handle the equipment properly, and how the setup worked. Without that short overview I'm sure there would have been more accidents. Highly reliable and knowledgeable staff! We'll likely be back again for future instrument rentals. read more

Robbie is so nice! Great service! The half size violin we got for our grandson is excellent. I know. I'm a violinist. I highly recommend this music store. It's a good one. read more

We visited for the first time and were so happy we did! Robin was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We came in looking for a specific trumpet as a gift, and Robin made sure we left happy with not only the product, but also the price! I love how they're open the two Sundays before Christmas. We look forward to coming here for all our future music needs! read more

Very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Highly recommend their rental service program.

Update - the owner was able to get back to me and now I understand the previous lack of response. I appreciated getting a response and will definitely check this place out again because it's a cool little spot. Definitely check it out if you play instruments or are interested in learning. They also offer lessons. read more

Under promised and over delivered! I bought a saxophone for my son on Facebook marketplace. We brought it to rockin Robbie's to have it inspected and see what we needed to purchase. We left it with them and by the end of the day I had a voicemail with an estimate for $340. It was more than I wanted to spend, but I called them back Monday and gave the OK. The person on the phone said that it would take about a week to make the repairs. But lo and behold by 2:30 that day I got another phone call from them saying it was ready and only cost $225. I asked around afterwards and everyone said that we got a really good deal to get this old vintage saxophone back in running condition. And my son was excited about the quick turnaround. read more

Anytime I want to check out ukulele's up here, Rockin' Robbie's is my first stop. I've been going here for years, Carol is the absolute best. She cares about the customers, whether it be adult or children, she and her staff are always helpful, very knowledgeable and they are NOT sales vultures. They care about the experience you're getting, whether you're shopping for an instrument, or looking to take lessons. They also do repairs there too. Depending on the type of repair, they'll let you know exactly how long, if it can be done in shop, or otherwise. I'd rather spend my money here then a corporate/retail chain. I highly recommend checking this place out, if they don't have something in stock, just ask, they can typically get it for you within a few days or so (depending on the item of course). Cruise in there, pick up an ukulele and strum your worries away, it's the best feeling ever! Mahalo Carol and the entire team at Rockin' Robbie's for keeping music alive! Aloha read more

I ordered a book last minute for my son's band class, and they contacted me to have it ready for pick up same day. When I arrived, Robin was very kind and treated me like a friend. I didn't know about this treasure of a music store, but I will definitely give them my business moving forward. read more

My daughter has been doing saxophone lessons here for almost 2 years now and this place is a pillar of the community! Robin and her staff are always helpful and sweet as can be. If you are looking to rent an instrument for school or personal use, this is the place to check out. They also repaired my beat up guitar for a great price. They don't make stores like this anymore. read more

Love our local music store. Super fun to peruse and we have always received friendly service, especially from the owner Robin. While we want to add more instruments to our home, we aren't quite yet ready for another big purchase. So during a recent day date, we stopped by and picked up a couple egg shakers and a kalimba (thumb piano) to tide us over for now. We will be back when we're ready to add to our collection either temporarily via rental or permanently via purchase. read more

Service is top notch! Love that we have a local music store. Please support small businesses. Had a string replaced and they took the time to teach me how to replace a string on my guitar. Check them out! read more

Friendly staff and very knowledgeable about all the different instruments that you can either buy a rent. We are currently renting a saxophone for my son for middle school, and they were able to find everything we needed to be able to help him out. I definitely recommend this place for any of your instrument needs. Also, surprisingly, they also offer lessons which is really cool. We haven't tried lessons yet, but may in the future, depending on if our son wants to continue with the saxophone past this first year. Prices are also very reasonable in terms of renting. read more

I always go to Robin and Carol for ant musical needs. Carol is a number one instrument tech. Sax, guitar, trumpet i've had them all worked on and all became superior instruments after her work. Robin's crew always gets me what I need, no matter how odd my request. No pressure, just help. read more

I called this store roughly 7 months ago looking for my Stolen Mandolin. The guy told me he would have seen or known if they had purchased any and hadn't in a long time. I got a voicemail from the guy I talked to, he tells me someone from a church donated a Mandolin, he checked the serial number I left him (as a good shop should!! Sure enough, it was a match. This mandolin has been on my mind everyday since it was stolen and searched everyday to see if someone tried to sell it. Well, luckily I had called the right place and he enthusiastically let me know in a voicemail they have my mandolin. I had given up hope, now I'll never go to any store for any equipment/accessories and collection of strings I own. Thank you so much for looking out and letting me know ASAP, I am in tears of joy knowing I finally get my $1300 Mandolin back!! You Rock as your sign says!!! read more

Rockin Robbie's is a great local music store. The owner is usually in the store and very helpful. Robin is the best! My daughter decided to try the oboe for 6th grade. Robin and Rockin Robbie's was the only local shop that was able to provide one as a rental. We had issues with the first two rental instruments but Robin provided great service through it all and made things right. Robin is truly passionate about music and helping people enjoy it. She went above and beyond to provide a working instrument for my daughter. I have a very happy aspiring oboist practicing away as I type this. Five stars! Two thumbs up! Thanks Robin! read more

If your child is playing an instrument, you need Robin and her amazing staff. We have been with them for five years. Our son plays the clarinet and we rented (and bought) from Robin and have taken private lessons. My son has added the saxophone to his repertoire. I wouldn't dream of going anyplace else for a sax rental and lessons. Just an amazing small business to work with. They are like family. read more

Love this local gem! They are so nice and flexible. I used to take guitar lessons here, and they would always reschedule for me. I sadly moved to Alameda and had to stop lessons and didn't pick up my guitar for almost 2 years. I picked it back up and noticed the strings were rusty. I tried to re string myself, but one of the pegs melted into the guitar! It took less than a day to have it fixed! Support small local music stores and get great customer service! read more

Robbie the owner, Demitri and other staff, and music teachers like George, are hands-down incredible and make this place the fun, chill spot it is. A Music lover's delight and overall an oasis in Concord. My son rents his trombone for under $40 a month, and receives music lessons from George. Lessons start at $30 for 30 min. The rental can also be on a rent-to-own basis, meaning if one decides to purchase the instrument instead of renting, the money previously given will be applied towards the purchase price. Robbie always tries to offer the best price for instruments and other supplies. I feel that the owner and her staff legitimately care about us as customers. Great local/family owned place to give your business to. read more

This place is effing rad! I had no idea it was here! Good selection and awesome staff that were super friendly to both me and my 5 year old son that was touching everything! Incredible place. My son has been taking musical lesson with Vince for SEVERAL years now. I say musical, because he started with piano, tried Sax for a short time (that didn't fit!), moved to drums, and is now playing the electric bass. Vince quickly brought him to a level of proficiency in each. However, given that Vince is a very respected electric bass player himself (check out Youtube for Vince Rillera), my son has really taken to the bass. He's truly learning from a master! Vince is great with kids, teens, and adults alike! The staff at Rockin' Robbies is fantastic, many of whom have been with Robin for years. Their prices are very reasonable and Robin usually finds a way of bringing them down even lower! As a music teacher herself, Robin is more interested in getting someone started in music, or enhancing their love of music, than becoming wealthy making a few more dollars off of her customers. She'll be the first to admit that that's probably not the best business model, but that's just who she is! I know this sounds like a sales pitch by Robin! But I can assure you that we are just regular customers that love this place. Robin and her staff have always done well by us and we wouldn't consider going anywhere else. read more

I recently bought a keyboard and decided to teach myself piano. I bought my husband a harmonica because he wanted to learn for fun. We were looking for some place else and we found this place by accident while walking around. We decided to look around and found some great deals inside. I found some great tutorial books for piano and my husband found one for Harmonica. I definitely plan to return to find more books once we've completed these! They're so reasonably priced! read more

Ok - I understand these guys get good reviews/5 stars from folks who come here looking for either beginner-type instruments, or lessons for their kids. If you want a beginner guitar, this shop is probably fine. However, if you want work done on any instrument that costs more than, say, $100, DO NOT GO HERE. They absolutely screwed up my $2000 guitar! I dropped my guitar off for a simple adjustment since it started buzzing a little. They called me up and said "we just need to adjust the nut and put on new strings." I was 100% ok with that as I have had that type of work done on other guitars. I come, pick up the guitar, go home and realize that they drilled a hole in the neck under the nut to remove it and put what looks like paper underneath to raise it up (see picture). It seriously looks like a kid did the work. I NEVER OK'd them to actually damage my guitar. Any qualified guitar tech knows how to safely and correctly remove a nut w/out damaging the guitar. This place is an absolute JOKE. DO NOT GO HERE for repairs. read more

Rockin' Robbie's - Concord - example of how they screwed up the nut on my expensive Gibson guitar. Do NOT go here for repairs. - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me - Concord, California

The flute player's fairie godmother works here and she works serious miracles on sick sounding flutes. I was desperate, had a gig to play on the same sat evening and the faerie appeared. She was off duty and was leaving but she still came and worked her magic on my flute. Years earlier I had taken the flute to another repairman at another shop and he never was able to address all the wonkie stuff happening with the timing mechanism. While she had my flute in her back room the other woman working in the shop, without my suggestior or request, began looking for a loaner flute on her shelves, "just in case", so I would be able to do my gig that evening. What an awesome, thoughtful person. It was like she actually cared and was ready to go the extra mile for me, a total stranger! Within the hour, my flute was healed and playing better than it has in years. And the charge: I was prepared to shell out the couple hundred I usually pay to the other tech at another shop and all I can say is that her charges were minimal. Musicians, relative and friends of musicians, if you live in this area, visit this area, or are otherwise passing through, give these women your business and support their shop. They are outstanding people who run a musician friendly business. read more

I had $35 in my pocket and I needed a hard case for my daughter. Went to Guitar Center and found nothing. Before trying the world's largest pawnshop (ebay), I decided to try this place. I had passed it countless times but never stopped in. Initially, the guy working there said he didn't have anything but suddenly remembered a case up in the attic height shelf. He told me I could have it for $30. I feel like he went out of his way to help us with what we needed. Next time I think of going to Guitar Center, I'll go here first! read more

Awesome customer service!!! Taking guitar lessons and bought a new guitar and a ukulele for my niece!

Walked in and was immediately greeted and asked how they could help. I told the gal (didn't get her name, but she was super nice!!) that I was looking for a soprano ukulele. She was able to show me what they had, made great recommendations, and even gave me a great deal since I was buying a case as well. Price was extremely reasonable. I'll definitely be back for any music needs in the future! read more

It's been a couple of months since I showed up in a rush on a Sunday, returning from a long trip, to rent a trumpet for my son's school music lessons that were to start sometime that week (undetermined at the time). Robin, the owner, was so gracious and helpful when told her what I needed, and just took care of us. She made sure he'd have an instrument he'd enjoy learning on and caring for, and it was a brand new instrument which could convert from a rental to a purchase. She showed me what he'd need to care of the instrument and provided a card with the website that would show him the basics. Many thanks to Robin for making a stressful situation so much easier and not stressful at all! read more

Picked up a sax lyre - they had it ready to go! This will be my go to place for the odd little music related stuff.

The staff is very approachable and helpful to students and other starting musicians. They have a large variety of instruments to buy, rent, or try. This place is so awesome and the staff and owner Robin, are so very helpful. I have rented a clarinet for three years through their school rental program. I felt the time was right to buy him a Yamaha clarinet. Finally lol. I called Robin and she ordered it for me and gave me a price less than the retail price. Then, after I counted up my savings from renting an instrument, I had a discount of over 50% from the retail price. When I gave it to my son, he was so appreciative, pleased and amazed with the tone. Thank you so much, and thanks for helping him continue his love for music. read more
