Darren and the other guy were SO HELPFUL!! I had an old drum set that was probably 50 years old. It was given to me for my 21st birthday. My rack was old and falling apart and it was so disorganized and my cymbals weren't that professional and my drum heads needed to be changed. Darren helped me with all of it. He replaced the heads, tuned them, helped me with getting better symbols setting up my Tom Tom mounts on my bass drum so I could have all my drums in a smaller configuration. It is amazing. Those guys are the best. I highly highly recommend them. They were extremely helpful and very attentive. Very, very kind and nice and professional. I found Dubs Drum Basement by making a wrong turn one day, but stopped in because my son had been asking about drums for a while. I was pleased to learn that Dubs offers drum lessons and signed him up. It started as a trial thing but my son enjoyed his lessons as everyone at Dubs was kind and welcoming. As it became obvious that my son enjoys drums, I purchased a practice pad and eventually moved on to buy a drum kit at Dubs. They installed "silent" heads on the kit and my son practices all the time in his room. It doesn't even bother the rest of us as they really do t make too much noise. A nice hole in the wall music store that's actually all drum stuff! My friend recommended me to go there whenever in the Dublin area, so I checked it out the other day. Super friendly dude was working the counter, I got there 15 mins before closing and I stayed a little over trying out new sticks and he was fine with it. Good prices, nice selection of types of drum sets/percussion and sticks (they have a good selection of marching sticks, including IP), and the dude working said that they have monthly clinics. I have been in and out of here a number of times recently and have had a number of exchanges with the owner Darren and feel it's more than appropriate to write a review! What a bad ass shop, Darren has been incredible with me taking the time to answer all my noob questions (I'm a guitar player..... Who also plays drums..). I have received a personal touch there that is so lacking in the business these days, I couldn't imagine spending my drum dollars anywhere else. I live in San Francisco so it's a hike but the knowledge within the shop is priceless and the advice I've been given has been excellent and on top of it all the prices are fair and competitive. Every time I'm in the shop pro drummers from the bay area are in there shooting the shit and talking shop. I live three blocks from guitar Center in San Francisco but I will continue to drive my ass out to Dublin.
