My kids have been taking piano lessons with Mrs. Satoko for about 10 years. She knows how to work with my kids' practice habits. She has many many kids who go through CM certifications. Mine chose not to but that doesn't mean she stopped pushing them. She is very clear on her expectations on practice habits and time commitment to reach the levels the kids want to achieve. There are no shortcuts. The kids really enjoyed having her as their teacher. Since covid we chose to do online classes. And they still do now. I like the option of being able to continue online classes. Understandably this worked for us since the kids have been with her for years. So I like the flexibility. We have 2 recitals per year. And they are always fun to watch how much the kids have grown after 6 months . read more

We love our daughter's piano teacher! Before coming to Harmony, she was ready to quit piano. But thank goodness we found this school and Ms. Satoko. Not only is she very knowledgeable in music with many years of teaching experience, but she is also motivating and kind, and always easy to communicate with. The school itself is also very organized and has a very user-friendly online system for billing and payment, notifications, make-up rescheduling, etc. I also appreciate how clean and calming the physical space is. My daughter has been going here for about 5 months now. She's learned so much! Her teacher is Mrs. Sulamite and my daughter absolutely loves her! Mrs. Sulamite is amazing! Not only when playing the piano but with my daughter as well. She is patient, encouraging, and friendly. I highly recommend Mrs Sulamite! As far as administration we haven't had any issues at all. Leslie replies within a day and is very pleasant. I get it that clients get frustrated when they are charged for having to cancel a class the day off due to last minute illness but the teacher still needs to be paid for her time just like going to a salon and canceling the day of. read more

Ms. Shulamite Chung is a fantastic piano teacher at Harmony Music School! Our son (12yo) loves having her as a teacher. He likes that she is actually engaged with him during his lessons, providing many useful techniques on his form and teaching him piano theory. Her enthusiasm is what helps keep my son motivated to practice and get better. Leslie, on the admin side, is also great. She responds in a timely manner and is super helpful when we need to make schedule changes. Highly recommend this music school! My son has been learning piano for two years and one year with Ms. Shulamite. In that time with her, he has really improved under her guidance. She is an amazing teacher. Instead of going through the next song in the book, she knows when to adjust lessons to work on skills like counting, rhythm, or sight reading. Also, Leslie Chen is great on the customer service front. She is very quick to respond to questions and make adjustments to schedules. We also love the location. Our child started Harmony School last year with Ms Ludmila and everything was going great. Leslie Chen who calls herself one of the board of directors she started treating us badly to the point we had to stop the classes. In Decemher last month we paid $200 for whole month and were told by Leslie Chen that the make up sessions are valid till next year and for few classes his teacher was traveling so we thought let's take the lessons once she is back. Now, sometime this month or last month I got this email saying they are increase their prices from $40 to $46 per class. it's not even a year but still we were like our kid is learning so we didn't mind. After that I told her to schedule the make up sessions and she told me that the sub teacher can't take the sessions and Ms Ludmila is also not available as she is old. She gave her 2 options which were like you take the money and stop with us. I asked for my money and told her I will stop but Leslie Chen lied and told a very different story. She didn't refund me the full amount. I wanted to escalate but she didn't even let me talk to anyone else from the company. LESLIE CHEN should be fired or someone else should take care of customer care. We didn't wan to stop but this lady didn't listen. read more

Ms. Satoko Fogarty has been an absolutely amazing piano teacher for my girls. They have been with her for more than 7 years and have learned so much as to music theory and playing piano. They have participated in MTAC and the scores are always extremely high due to Ms. Satoko's dedication. She truly loves teaching and it shows in the girls progress and proficiency. This review is strictly for the administration. We've been very good clients of this school. Recently, my daughter was ill on a day she had a music lesson. For as long as she has been a student of Harmony Music School, she's never been sick. As soon as I realized my daughter was sick, I immediately informed her teacher that we could not make it to class and inquired about scheduling a make-up for a later date, we were informed that because of the school's policy, we could not re-schedule because it was not at least 24 hours in advance. I was advised to email the school as they might help and was disappointed to say the least with the customer service rep, Chris. This person simply relayed the school policy to me and claimed other schools require 48 - 72 hrs notice of cancellation, which is not entirely true. My issue is how can we know in advance when our child is going to be sick. Secondly, I understand why policies are in place --- but in a case like this, wouldn't it make sense to go back into a client's record or even ask the teacher "has this student/parent been delinquent or problematic?" Chris stated that I was trying to change the school's policies. That is not what I had tried to do. I had only asked for an exception in this case as my daughter is a good student who never missed a class and we have never had to ask the school for any specific request before. We found another school for our daughter. They allow two make-ups each trimester because they understand that in life, things can happen. Also, they were curious as to why we would leave Harmony Music School if we love our teacher at Harmony so much. We described our situation with the customer service rep and even then, this other school said that if a student of theirs were sick, they would make accommodations to help the family. Also, my youngest child attends a different music school. He gets sick pretty often and that school accommodates make-up sessions for him. When a music school has actual staff working onsite, it is very clear that customer service would be far more superior. The customer service rep and owner of Harmony Music School lack empathy. The school's policies are rigid & inflexible. There is ZERO admin staff onsite. I've never seen the owner or the customer service rep. Because our teacher at Harmony is excellent, we had put up with the quirks of a "faceless" organization. The first review on Yelp is very accurate. There is no one to greet you or address any questions face to face at this school. Correspondence is mainly by email. One time I had dropped by to pay the tuition fees but the doors were locked even though it was during open business hours. Since I had other errands to do, I figured I would swing by again after and try dropping if off then. Frustratingly, the door was still locked. This has happened more than once! When I meet other parents in the hall, we have all agreed that the non-existent staff and lack of customer service is the worst part of Harmony Music School. Our daughter is very sad to have to leave her wonderful teacher and her teacher is sad too. Our piano teacher at Harmony had plans for my daughter - Certificate of Merit training and even a contest lined up to participate in. Sadly, since the school does not value good clients like us, we have no choice but to leave. Fortunately, we were able to find another school that meets our needs! read more

This school was impossible to do business with. They don't contact people by phone and there doesn't seem to be any one acting as an administrator. From what little I could find out the owner is very rigid and sets inflexible policies for parents and students. This school doesn't care about people, it must be all about the bottom line here because there is no joy or even basic friendliness. Our attempts to connect with this school were more and more frustrating. We stopped in one day to speak to a person and there was no one who could answer or even care about our questions. We've just moved to Dublin from Peninsula, and our son has started taking piano lessons here. Hard to say how it goes yet but so far we've been very pleased. I've checked out a couple other music studios in the area - facility and customer service wise nothing compares. The owner seems to be very passionate about what she does, and she's been extremely patient and accomodating trying to match us with the right teacher. We have two busy kids and it's been hard to fit more lessons in - I kept pestering her with emails, requesting trials and going back and forth, and she was always prompt to reply, even on weekends. It might be hard to reach them by calling but email or text work really fast. Would totally recommend this school. read more
