I know this sounds really weird but Museum Station is probably my favourite railway station in all of Australia, simply because it just has heaps of character. Okay, there are lots of pretty cool looking older stations around Sydney and Melbourne, however what sets Museum Station apart is not only is it underground, but it still has the old 1920s charm about it. In fact if you wander along the platforms they still have a bunch of really old advertising posters of the wall - they haven't upgraded to the new modern advertisements. In fact you won't even see any of those new video screens either. Okay, they seem to be refurbishing the outside, which is a bit of a shame because the entrance at Hyde Park looks really cool as well. Apparently, until the airport line was opened, it was the only underground station where the platform wasn't an island. I have to say that I love this place. read more
