This is right in the middle of a busy city center. Inside is a museum that cost €10. The museum takes 15 to 20 minutes to go through, and at the end you're served a craft beer. A lot of people sit outside and enjoy a craft beer as well as a codfish cake. The codfish cake is €6.50. The beer is enjoyable. I can't say I love the codfish cake. Kind of dry. The staff members are nice, but it is pretty busy so service is slacking. read more

The best thing about this place are the beautiful decorative concepts, the beautiful smiling woman making the codfish cakes and the other men that were drawn to this place thinking it was one thing but is not what it's advertised to be. This is a tourist trap and the service was very subpar. I ordered a beer and a codfish cake and had to wait 30 minutes for it. When i got it the cake was too doughy.... Just went for a couple beers, I mean, it should be their wheelhouse, right? Ordered 2 drafts. They brought 2 bottles and opened before we could say something. Oh well, roll with it. Came here last week for the Portugal vs Ghana World Cup match and the locals totally mobbed this outdoor beer garden area. Giant boots full of beers was terrific and delicious. It was a wait to get a table outside but its understandable as the home team was on the giant TV. The inside drinking area was cool AF, very ornate and kinda reminds me of the shop which every ride drops you off at so you buy the gear. Worth it, and I'll be back. read more

5 Euros for a beer that takes you into the museum. The museum has 9 plaques that you can read on your own as its self guided, and a bunch of beers on display. The last room has a weird monk at a table. You can also sit at one of the tables to enjoy your drink. 5 Euros for the cod cakes with potatoes and cheese, which are lukewarm and not very tasty (the cheese tastes fake). The space is massive and very empty so the atmosphere is off. read more

AMAZING! My mom and I had dinner and drinks here our first night in Lisbon. This is more of a come and go stop point for small bites and brew; however, we were down for the full meal! I kind of wanting to just drink some local beers at The Beer Museum Bar. But my Yelp Friend has other plans.... I ended up walking through glasscases displaying the history of the World of Beer of Portuguese Speaking Countries. So this Museum is specific to being a history of beers and breweries. I just wish I can sample a few beers instead of just looking at the bottles. Luckily we were given a sample of unknown beer closed to the end of this self guiding tour. So if you want some real drinking action, I suggest just skip the Museum display part and go straight to the bar area and just order a sample flight! read more

It feels like a hard rock cafe 100%. I was enticed by the giant posted of what looked like a football shaped potato deep fried with oozing cheese. It was good but I wish it was crispy or crunchy. If they deep fry it, it needs to have a coating of pinko so it keeps its crispy ness. The cheese oozing is good. I think it's their classic goat cheese that is very mild and really good. This beer museum was a fun stop and was really interesting, and the only thing that disappointed me was that it wasnt a little bit bigger. For just a few euro you can walk around the upper floor and check out the history of beer in Portugal. You even get a small glass of beer to sample while you read about different beers and when they were first introduced. Downstairs is a restaurant with lots of beautifully set tables and several more beer options if you have time to sample more than the one they start you with. We were unfortunately in a rush to get back to our "hop on/off" bus tour, which has a drop off/pick up about a block away, but really enjoyed our short time here. read more

This is a wonderful location with wonderful food and wonderful staff. We spent hours here drinking beer and eating delicious Specialty's and it was only 44 euros. This is in the corner of the historic Square which overlooks the ocean there is sunshine and a cool breeze we appreciate the perfect day, not that the restaurant arrange that but we can thank them for it. I do think the beer and food might be on a more expensive side since you are in the heart of touristy sight seeings. Beer Museum does also educate you on how they make the beer, so its also great to learn the history! Eh! This place was overrated in my opinion. It's five euros a person for the tour and basically your paying for the beer they give you. The tour itself wasn't very good. You look at beer bottles over the years. The only decent part of it was a replica of how they used to make beer in the Middle Ages. Great place for beer and amazingly fresh seafood. Love the views from the plaza to the ocean. Restaurant offers an al fresco non smoking section which was nice. Ordered the shrimp pasta which was very delicious, but was served as a cold pasta salad. Wished that it would of been warned instead. My friend ordered the baked octopus which she loved. Maybe it's bc I've been around craft beer for a while now, but I left this tourist trap underwhelmed. As a restaurant, this is a clean and comfortable spot to have an (overpriced) meal, but as a 'Beer Museum', there is much to be desired. Even the beer menu itself, which should be robust, is straight basic. There are maybe 20 brews on the menu, with no descriptions other than where in Portugal they're from. So this beer is from Lagos... and? Why do I care? Beers on the menu can also be found at many local pubs/cafes in the area, so, again, why am I here? Save the 17eur you're about to drop on a Caesar salad and head a few blocks down the way to a local watering hole. The scenery is just as magical, you'll learn just as much about beer (see: zero) and you won't feel used on the way out. Protip: do check out a cod cake. Best part of this spot! read more

Admission comes with a beer so it totally works out. It's a bar, restaurant, taproom, and museum. It's in a totally cute and hip part of the Lisbon area right in front of the water. You'll get your option of one of four beers and they are served in the most gorgeous glassware that is also conveniently for sale. Boheme is a delicious craft beer served prominently throughout Portugal & I went for the Porter. It was a very instagram-worthy spot with the whole history of beers in Portugal dating back to the beginning of brewing. Downstairs is an opulent and glimmering golden dining room with a background of endless glasses stacked in a medieval pattern. The food looked amazing and the had the cured ham legs demonstrated in the rear. You can't miss it when in the area- it doesn't take long and it's definitely worth your time. read more

Not knowing what Portugal and Beer have in common, I was further intrigued why this place had a high volume foot traffic spot at the touristy Praça Do Comercio. We went ahead and the host caught up shortly to hand us a small sample of beer. There was a lot more than I would have expected to see. It was well organized and displayed and to find out there are so many brands of beer not seen in my local beer stores. While on the second floor, you can see the overall landscape of the place which is features a bar near the entrance and an area for dining. Right in the square next to the water, this place is very easy to access. They are famously known for their fish cakes, which has cheese spin side of them. The fish cakes are very good, although it's a bit saltier than I would have liked. They are also a bit bigger than I would have liked. At €3.50 a pop, it's a bit expensive, but it's worth trying! I also ate lunch here and ordered the bacalhau, which is famous in Lisbon. It's codfish, and the way this restaurant cooks it, it tastes alright. It's basically garlic and olive oil, matched with potatoes and some green vegetable. Very oily. Also, I'm not sure whether cod is just not tender or whether this cod wasn't fresh, but the fish was not tender and bordering crunchy. I did not really enjoy it, and it was €18 for the plate. This is a tough one. With a name like "The Museum of Beer" one may feel compelled to visit if one fashions oneself as a beer lover (as this one does). Really though, it's just an expensive tourist trap in an amazing location. That is not to at it is not worth the price or an expensive beer to sit on the Praca da Commerce and people-watch to one's heart's content.
