    Drink menu - April 2022

This was my first stop for a drink since it was close to my airbnb. I love the location here because the tables are set out and there are gorgeous views to take in whilst enjoying your pastry or drink! I got to try their red wine sangria and Portuguese tart and both were delicious! All the drinks were very well priced and I would definitely revisit again :)

Beautiful cafe/bar at the heart of Lisbon, overlooking the river. Ideal for a stop on the way from walking around the castle, or just hanging out and people watching. There is something there for every: a good wine list, salads and sandwiches, tea and coffee and other snacks. I love the inside and outside decor - tables and chairs, couches, circular beds, beanbags and carpets, there is something for everyone. Service is very (very) slow, but who is in a hurry in Lisbon?

Great food and service. The view was worth it 100%. We got the cheese board, meat croquettes, eggs Benedict, and roast beef sandwhich. All of it was AWESOME! Highly recommend checking this place out

We came here for drinks and ended up ordering dinner. We should've just stuck with drinks. The sandwiches we ordered were just okay and served with potato chips. Our drinks, on the other hand, were great. I loved my sangria and my husband loved the mixed drinks he tried. Come here for the drinks and the gorgeous view of Lisbon. The view is lovely, and it's a romantic spot to just relax and enjoy the city.

What a great view!! This place automatically gets 5 stars just for the priceless location overlooking Alfama neighborhood and Rio Tejo. Coming from busy NYC, hanging out in the terrace for hours on a sunny day without being harassed to leave was such a refreshing experience! The price of the food and drinks was surprisingly decent ( cappuccino was around €3, most food was around 10€) , I thought I'd get charged more based on the location alone. The food quality was just average, nothing special. I liked their fresh mint tea, very refreshing! Atmosphere: A++ Service:A- Food: B Value: A-

The food is nothing special here, but the view sure is! Portas do Sol is perched on a hillside, overlooking the Tagus River and all the pretty rooftops of Lisbon. Drinks are very reasonably priced considering the prime location, and the big patio offers both shaded and full-sun seating, on bean bag chairs, lounge couches, or tables, depending on your mood. Their drink menu has 5 versions of Caipirinha and other basic cocktails and beer-tails (they like to mix beer with flavored syrups 'round here). I had the mojito, a big refreshing glass for 6 euros. We also tried the "pintxos", basically bruscetta with various toppings. Way overpriced for what you get! Skip the food. If the view looks too classy for your budget, think again. Decent drink prices and an incredible view await!

Yay! I'm a fan. This place is really cool, it offers a superb view over Alfama and the Tagus. It's very close to the pitoresque 28 tram line and it's easily combinable with a visit to the castle. The price here is expensive for Portugal but CHEAP for the venue. If you see their location with the view they're offering this really is quite good value for money. We ordered sangria and for 20 euro's you get a, excuse my french, shitload of sangria. We choose the one with cava instead of white wine and it was really good! We didn't try the food but it looked decent. Definitely a place I'll come back to to show my friends!

View is wonderful, they have plenty of seating for small groups or couples. Prices are much lower than I would expect. Food is so so. Service I thought was great. Free wifi that works great on the patio. I think you get way more than you pay for but I wish they had some more food options

It is kind of funny, for how incredibly otherwise interesting Lisbon is as a city, foodie-wise,…read morethat it definitely doesn't have much of a craft *cocktail* scene, and what it does have, is hidden in plain sight, whether as a pizza shop (the other surprisingly good actually-a-cocktail-bar I found), or in this case more literally, as a brothel turned tourist trap-looking bar that actually does have quite good cocktails. Admittedly - it was clearly designed so that it could function at night, when my hunch is that it's more likely to be an absolute madhouse, and it probably a bit feels more like a nightclub. Good thing for me, then, that they're open, and I visited, at 2 PM on a Friday, when they only had a few customers, my favorite sort of vibe for a bar. Yes, they do have extremely suggestively murals up all over the place, because they're committed to the bit (committed enough that if it turned out they were actually also a secret brothel to this day, I'd be like... yeah, that'd track. To my knowledge they are in fact just a bar, though.) But at least when they aren't busy, it is *also* one of the small number of proper craft cocktail bars I found in Lisbon while I was there. Their cocktails were 12-14 euro as of when I was there a few months ago - which a couple years ago would've felt a little pricey, but now feels pretty par for the course. The menu cocktails were mostly all prebatched, but have clearly been prebatched freshly and with *purpose*, as the two cocktails I tried here were *quite* good. One with gin, roobois, ancho reyes and yellow pepper, and one, I was excited to finally see, using Beirao in something more interesting than just tonics or spritzes, with pisco, Beirao, pineaple and eucalyptus. Great presentation, great drinks, and again at least as of when they were least busy, quick service (as you would expect, given that, again, it is mostly prebatched.) That said, if like me, you only speak English, ymmv - the one bartender when I was there spoke English like a native English speaker. Great bartender, too. Then he left and another bartender took over, who spoke zero English whatsoever. As it turns out, you also don't need to speak the same language to order a drink off a menu and then pay for it, though, but it is still *nice* speaking the same language as the bartender.

However, we eventually grew tired of this and wanted to enjoy a cocktail or two with the locals. After doing some shopping, we stumbled upon The Bar. Unlike some of the other bars, The Bar does not have outdoor seating. Therefore, you have to keep your eyes peeled for the entrance. Upon entering the dimly lit intimate bar, we were warmly greeted by a bartender named Joao. We took in the romantic ambiance (they have a Louis Vuitton Virgil Abloh collector's book!) as we found seating on one of their cozy + comfy couches. My wife ordered the Porn Star Martini (you gotta love an establishment that has a little fun with the name of their drinks) and I ordered the Long Island Iced Tea (this used to be my go-to back in my clubbing days). I knew the drinks would be delicious when I saw Joao carefully crafting the drinks as if he was bathing a newborn. Six minutes later we were sipping on our delectable drinks. In fact, the drinks were so delectable that we slowly sipped them to not finish them too quickly. We made repeated visits to The Bar during our stay in Lisbon, specifically for their Happy Hour that takes place from 5pm to 8pm. With the exception of the signature cocktails, all cocktails are $7 during Happy Hour. If you're looking to consume an adult beverage in a comfortable, cozy, and non-touristy environment...I highly recommend The Bar!

This server was very kind and brought us our drink that we drank rather fast so that he could get home as soon as possible. Both of our drinks were expertly made and the ambiance only added to the experience.
