Way way way overpriced for what you get. Extremely tacky server asking me "how much are you going…read moreto tip me" at the end of my meal. You don't tip in Portugal and this is a prime example of TAKING ADVANTAGE OF TOURISM. The food wasn't bad, but can't justify giving a 5 star rating for this place. Would not recommend nor would I return.

We were visiting Lisbon from Los Angeles for Christmas and ended up vomiting for the last days of our very expensive trip!!!!! We know it was the oysters because it was the only food all 3 of ate that day and it didn't hit us until Christmas night. When we got there we were told to hurry up and order because the kitchen was closing in an hour, then they served me sour wine which I returned and the oysters soaked in salt water!!!!!!!! I didn't want to complain again because of fear they would spit in our meal so we ate one oyster each. I believe they were also racist and didn't want to serve brown and black people. The head waiter was rude and the other girl was a short and nasty to us. We spent the last 3 days in an expensive hotel vomiting with fever!! I made this reservation weeks before we arrived after googling the reviews. I am disputing the $160 charge and got no response from them when I called. Not only that but the 3 entrees we ordered we did not finish because the food was slop!!!! Vela Latina looks nice in person but look out! They are racist and serve spoiled food to tourists!!!!

For lunch they have a set menu to cater to the crowd which isn't bad. They also have a cheese and meat spread which they bring at the beginning of the meal...we made the mistake thinking it was complimentary, little did we know it cost more than our dishes so be careful of that. They have a good selection of wines, the white wine I had was OK but given its big selection I want to give it the benefit of doubt. The service staff is attentive, but sometimes a little too attentive (if you know what I mean) which isn't always appreciated especially when you are there on a business lunch. We also stopped by here after the congress for a drink and there were quite a few more people but easy to get a spot.

We noticed the nice, clean outdoor seating and the sign for WiFi and chose to stop in for a beverage and the do our Uber business. Husband had two Sagres for happy hour price and I had a chocolate shot of some sort with a Sagres beer and our Uber came shortly after.

A funky rooftop restaurant with extraordinary views and a vibrant feel…read more This place ended up costing us the most on our whole trip. The entrees were on the pricier side, which is something we didn't realize until the end of the trip - when we've had better food, better experience for a more feasible price. The entrees were smaller and less flavorful than we expected. Our bill was also a big one cause of drinks. We ordered: Crispy polenta and cheese balls Razor clams and new potatoes salad with greek yogurt, roasted peppers and cucumbers Game corn dogs with wild-berries fresh sauce and mustard leaves Entrees: we ordered duck, codfish, octopus and a steak dish where no one really enjoyed it... sidenote: I know Codfish is a very popular dish in Portugal - if you don't like that fishy/seawater/fresh-out-of-the-sea taste, you might not like it in Lisbon My friends didn't like the fish and the duck. Gin Fizz was good, as well as the Rosé (we probably ordered like 8 Gin Fizzes - they were that good) -takes CC, Wifi, great view What I recommend - go there for a drink and apps. I think their entrees were disappointing but apps and drinks were great

An experience that I was hoping to capture was unexpectedly shut down. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the rooftop was closed to the public. Still an order of cocktails were placed with the attentive server. Shortly thereafter, the tequila based cocktail and a chocolate cocktail were brought to the table. Both drinks were good with two different flavor profiles. The chocolate cocktail with a subtle hint of coffee reminded me of a dessert which could be ideal as a digestif. It also came with a chocolate twig which made the drink a little extra fun. As for the other cocktail, well I'm sure you know how it goes with tequila :) Both drinks cost about $27 USD which was a wee bit more than I anticipated to spend. However, if you could enjoy the views from the rooftop while sipping away a cocktail or two, it will be worth it. Finding this place was also a little tricky. I had to ask the locals to help locate this place. If you're having trouble getting here, be sure to ask the locals.
