Walked in after some shopping for a respite from the early afternoon heat...... wonderfully air conditioned room, perfect for coffee on s hot day. Had this place bookmarked - was pleasantly surprised this little cafe inside the opera house is now run by celebrity chef Jose Avillez - for a specific desert: Pudim Abade de Priscos (Portuguese Bacon Pudding). The pudding is essentially a egg custard based flan but the underlying fat is lard ("bacon"), instead of the more familiar butter used in it's French cousin. Also on the menu, was the other notorious Portuguese "bacon" based dessert: Toucinho do Céu (Bacon from Heaven). A dense almond cake with that unmistakable tinge of porky caramel......

The beef croquettes with tomato rice is very good! The cod confit was okay a bit fishy. The truffle butter started with bread was also memorable.

The food here is amazing. Highly recommended. Will be back my next time in Lisbon! Good taste, cooked well, amazing service, good wine. Not even that expensive!! Mmm

Quality food into a nice location ! Located into the 'Teatro Nacional de São Carlos', Café Lisboa is a restaurant of José Avillez, famous portuguese chef. I was actually going to 'Cantinho do Avillez', another of his restaurant without reservation and I couldn't get a table so the waiter referred me to 'Café Lisboa' who turns out to be a great suggestion. Was seated outside on the terrasse, friendly waiter, good service, food was so good and delicious, wine too. I really enjoy the food and as well the beautiful location in Old Lisbon. With friends or with your partner, you will have a great time + good food.

The food is amazing and at a great value. I had the bras style cod and my wife had the octopus with potatoes. The exploding olives are worth the stop alone. The pastel de nata here is better than Pastel de Belem. The staff is very friendly and full of great recommendations. The wine selection is one of the better ones I have seen in Lisbon.

A funky rooftop restaurant with extraordinary views and a vibrant feel…read more This place ended up costing us the most on our whole trip. The entrees were on the pricier side, which is something we didn't realize until the end of the trip - when we've had better food, better experience for a more feasible price. The entrees were smaller and less flavorful than we expected. Our bill was also a big one cause of drinks. We ordered: Crispy polenta and cheese balls Razor clams and new potatoes salad with greek yogurt, roasted peppers and cucumbers Game corn dogs with wild-berries fresh sauce and mustard leaves Entrees: we ordered duck, codfish, octopus and a steak dish where no one really enjoyed it... sidenote: I know Codfish is a very popular dish in Portugal - if you don't like that fishy/seawater/fresh-out-of-the-sea taste, you might not like it in Lisbon My friends didn't like the fish and the duck. Gin Fizz was good, as well as the Rosé (we probably ordered like 8 Gin Fizzes - they were that good) -takes CC, Wifi, great view What I recommend - go there for a drink and apps. I think their entrees were disappointing but apps and drinks were great

Before coming to Lisbon, I did a little research on where to find views of the 25 de Abril bridge…read more Rio Maravilha happened to show up as one of the top places for the best views. An experience that I was hoping to capture was unexpectedly shut down. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the rooftop was closed to the public. Still an order of cocktails were placed with the attentive server. Shortly thereafter, the tequila based cocktail and a chocolate cocktail were brought to the table. Both drinks were good with two different flavor profiles. The chocolate cocktail with a subtle hint of coffee reminded me of a dessert which could be ideal as a digestif. It also came with a chocolate twig which made the drink a little extra fun. As for the other cocktail, well I'm sure you know how it goes with tequila :) Both drinks cost about $27 USD which was a wee bit more than I anticipated to spend. However, if you could enjoy the views from the rooftop while sipping away a cocktail or two, it will be worth it. Finding this place was also a little tricky. I had to ask the locals to help locate this place. If you're having trouble getting here, be sure to ask the locals.
