A must when visiting Madrid. A casual bar setting to enjoy a beer or cafe con leche and "bocadillo de Jamón" (cured ham sandwich) as called in Spain. There are several locations but this one is our family favorite. Soo much that it has become a tradition to visit on every trip. Impressive to see the deli where all the variety of cured hams are exhibited. Definitely recommend to visit in the mornings where lots of locals drop by for a quick cup of coffee or a pint of beer. Enjoy!!

We were looking for a snack to bring with us on our flight to Porto and found this place scattered throughout the city. We decided to give it a chance. We didn't get any Jamon as we were looking for a snack to bring on a flight so this may not be a helpful review. We got a pasty filled with meat and it was okay. The pastry wasn't flaky enough and there wasn't enough filling. Service at the counter was really nice and friendly. The price was also really cheap for the amount of food we got. I would come and try other things to give this place a more well rounded review.

Perfect stop to have some cañas and Iberia ham. Plus you can bye great hams. Good prices.

We were here 8 years ago and in our opinion, still a great option for amazing food at great prices. The ambience is always bustling and the service is great. Would recommend!

Can you even say you went to Spain without eating jamon for breakfast? Do as the locals do right? But a couple euros for a breakfast meal is not bad at all. Pro tip: There is an upstairs eating area if you want more room.

Food is fairly decent and inexpensive although amount of ham given is very little, especially given that I ordered a chef recommended dish

Over priced. Over rated. Paid for two sandwiches (bocadillo con jamón) and two beers (cerveza) for almost $20.00. When my husband was trying to order in Spanish, the waiter waved us away. Very rude to foreigners. Think we got charged double what locals pay. It'd be rude of me to think they're hustling with foreigners. There's plenty of other shops along the streets for the same meat and sandwiches for less.

A terrific spot on our food tour, note that there is a downstairs with a very small seating area. At 8pm on a weeknight, both the tour and I were surprised that there was no one else here when we arrived. A couple of beers, some sliced meats and then a big plate of iberico with sliced manchego. The meats and cheeses were very good, though machine sliced and not as perfectly thin as I might see elsewhere. Still delicious though. [Review 12524 overall, 2314 of 2019.]

Museo del Jamón is on our to do list in Madrid when we planned our travel but it was an unpleasant experience. It was not that crowded and busy but no waiters tried to clean up tables for next group. You would see people just moved all leftovers from other customers to another tables and it was really disgusting that there were some tables full with leftovers and non-cleaning dishes. We ended up eating by the bar. They served a huge variety of Jamón like a museum and it was difficult to make decisions since we were not professional with Jamon. We ordered the Jamón Iberico de Bellota which was recommended by the staff with highest price among all selection. It was decent but not outstandingly different from Jamón we tried in other place.

Touristy little place, you can get decent jamones. I ordered some cheese and ham plates and coffee afterward. More like an in and out bar.

An absurd amount of Euros later, and I was well fitted with some fancy Jamón Ibérico and one smile.

When we left at 12:45 PM, every table was filled with a few patrons waiting to sit/stand. When you get in, have some people grab a seat while one person goes to the front to order. Their tortillas are sold by the piece, which is one sixth of a giant circular frittata. They also sell croquettes in pairs and there's a discount for getting 8. Most patrons got the original, which is egg + potato. We tried the Brie, which was a crowd pleaser. Cheesy and eggy, with bites of cooked potato for texture. Also, got a goat cheese + caramelized onion one that was more goat cheese than onion. Would sub this one out if I come back. Got 4 jamon and 4 carrilerra (cheeks) croquettes. I thought they were medium sized based on the other Madrid croquettes we had. All croquettes we had on this trip were great, and these were certainly on par. I can see why Pez Tortilla is so popular with many locations. It's a hearty meal at a very affordable price.

Service is very quick and staff is friendly. It is a local fav spot cos we saw many friends just hanging out enjoying their tortillas beer and having a good time. A fantastic place to try the spanish tortillas. Highly recommend.
