This is a great spot to get American style kind of breakfast but much much better than that! Everything hear is fresh, tasty, fast, and service is super friendly. I love the vibes here as it is super welcoming and you can tell they have regulars come here weekly. Came in while in Madrid when we were craving a great breakfast to jump start our day. We were seated right away when we walked up and taken to the far end of the restaurant. I was glad we were able to also get on the WiFi here too. One of the best brunch spots in the city! Carmencita specializes is egg benedicts and they do them perfectly. We tried the bacon and ham ones and they were delicious. The hash browns that come with them are some of the crispiest ones I've ever had. This restaurant does get quite busy though, so make a reservation! Visited Carmencita on a gloomy Saturday and it was not too busy so we were seated right away. The dining area was small and intimate very light and clean. The server was sweet and helped up pick drinks (mimosa) and decide between items. I ordered the pancakes which were huge but delicious. Although the doors are bright green/blue color, it took my friends and I a while to locate the restaurant. This is a good place to come if you are missing a nice American-style brunch. They have 1€ mimosas, so if you are looking to drink an afternoon away, this is a good place to start. The restaurant is small and they do get pretty packed so I would recommend making a reservation! What I ordered: I got the mushrooms and goat cheese dish. This comes with a small salad and American-style potatoes. The goat cheese was slightly toasted, which makes it melty and amazing. The meal was good overall and decently priced. The server was pretty attentive and nice (which is rare for Madrid). I don't know if this meal was good enough to where I'll ever come back, but my experience was pleasant overall! read more

We didn't have a reservation (so I recommend doing that before hand if you are able) but she sat my friends and I anyway. Don't do the mistake that I did of only coming in for a michelada. That "friendly service" that everyone claims is immediately out the door. Being jet-lagged, I ordered a michelada. Looking at the menu, due to nausea, I wasn't craving much. When the (ridiculously rude) waitress came to get my order, upon hearing that I only wanted the drink, she rolled her eyes and said that this is not a bar. We came here for Saturday brunch on a recent trip to Madrid. I found Carmencita from the great reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor. When we arrived the restaurant was quite busy but we were seated within about 20 minutes. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. The menu was simple and had some of our favorite breakfast items listed. Mimosas were 1 Euro which is an excellent deal and they were delicious! We ordered French toast, hash browns, mushroom goat cheese scramble, and the American breakfast all of which were delicious. The benedicts looked divine. They were served on bagels.
