Eggs, toast with butter/jam, and tea + coffee

I really enjoyed this place. Swift and friendly service. Egg dish, which I feel is unusual here. I just got toast with butter and jam (not ham), and it really hit the spot. Very good bread. The tea and coffee are also delicious. I asked for milk with my tea and it came in an adorable mini bottle. Love it. Also the coffee came with a piece of chocolate and the tea came with a biscuit. God is in the details.

Porridge w/ bananas, nuts and blueberries. Eggs Benedict with bacon in the back.

Just another day eating brunch at Martha Stewart's Madrid home. What is that you say? Martha Stewart doesn't have a home in Madrid? Well by the looks of brunch, I was fooled. Good, hearty breakfast for those wishing a full belly before conquering the city!

    1) Service - This is the main reason why I took one star off. The waitress we had originally was not very kind and seemed upset at us for not knowing what we wanted to order from the start and was not very friendly. Our waitress that came to ask us about desert was wonderful so nice and welcoming but it was hard to forget that first experience. 2) Price - expensive bagels but worth it bc of how much they are stuffed with. Menu of the day for 10 euros got to pick two (salad, soup, wrap/sandwich), a side (got Patatas), and either a coffee/tea/ice cream or other desert was very reasonable! 3) HELADO DE TURRON!! Some of the best ice cream I've ever had drizzled with some chocolate sauce.Tomato soup was incredible. Vegetable wrap was just ok (has feta) Great atmosphere very cozy with calming music.

Great way to start my day in Madrid. Friendly staff helped me through the menu. So helpful! Quiet little cafe that is cozy on the inside (don't let the outside of the building affect your decision). Wonderful breakfast. Great value.

    Carrot cake!

Great menu and friendly staff. I grabbed a seat by the window and the waiter (who's English wasn't that great) helped me (who's Spanish is horrible) figure out what to order. I ended up with a cappuccino, watermelon and cucumber salad, salmon and avocado tartar, watermelon & orange & mint juice and carrot cake. All for under 15€. And everything was delicious! I went for a late lunch and was very satisfied and full when I left!

While I missed a Micky D's trip while I was in Spain, I was able to keep up my Starbucks record...but I was able to check off another tradition - visit a local brewery in every country I visit. Well, I was actually able to visit two while in Spain. YOLO. Came in the Fabrica Maravillas after spotting it on Yelp - since it was a quick (relatively) walk from our hotel. I was on a mission to connect with my good bud - Mr. Yelp Madrid, Lolo R - and this was where we decided to meet up to have a beer and catch up. Super friendly bartender that explained each beer for us and recommended the one I went with - The Dark Ale. It was fantastic. Sweet notes, perfectly carbonated and not too heavy. Their glasses are in 3 sizes - small, medium, large. The Medium is a good size as it is. 2 mediums and a small was only 10€. I also got a bottle that was €4 (50cl). It was hoppy and went PERFECT with a fried seafood plate I had it with when I got back home. Small tap room - as are all places in Spain, but they are brewing up some good stuff! Check them out! Side note - Shout out to the guy in there that was also from Fort Lauderdale and overheard me talking and immediately hollered out "FUNKY BUDDHA!" haha super nice guy, hope you find this review dude. Always nice to know my home team brewery is that well known.
