The food was good, the coffee was good. The cafe was a bit cramped, incredibly crowded and found a small black corner table. Service was good, just wasn't the most comfortable place to grab some food and relax.

Quick note: The original shop is currently under renovations so they moved about 5 min walk from the original location. Check pics for the address. Review: Came here to grab a quick brunch and was really happy with our decision. Looks like a typical hipster coffee shop but the food and staff are amazing. Staff were friendly and polite and we received our food fairly quickly even though they were swamped. We ordered their red velvet latte, iced coconut latte, B.L.A.T, and their avocado toast with smoked salmon and omelette. All of it was delicious. The bread was toasted perfectly and very fresh. The toast and sandwich were both super light and packed full of flavor and they were pretty good size portions as well. Coffee was so good we had to get it to go as well! Would highly recommend!

Overall my experience at Hanso cafe was okay. The prices were high compared to surrounding cafes. The service was okay and they initially made my oat milk matcha with cows milk, but corrected the mistake when asked. I would recommend trying the hazelnut ducha avocado toast! There is plenty of seating and the ambiance was quiet and chill.

The ambiance of this cafe was amazing, it was cozy yet modern and had an open area for seating. We instantly were able to find a table in the corner. The menu had interesting Korean inspired Brunch options, it was really fun reading about the different fusion dishes. The Kimchi and Bacon Sandwich kept me full and had thick cut toasted bread with a melted layer of cheese over the bacon and kimchi. Each bite was both sweet and sour from the kimchi and was something I've never tried before. I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk which tasted like a typical matcha where the oatmilk overpowered the matcha. My friend ordered the Smoked Salmon & Soba Noodles which looked super hearty and refreshing. My other friend also ordered a Kimchi and Bacon Sandwich however, her order was lost and we spoke with a staff. Her order came out shortly after that but it did take a while to find an available employee in that moment. Overall, it was a great experience and I've never been to a Korean fusion brunch spot.

the food is delicious! and the drinks are so good and there are many interesting options. only issues are it's a little expensive, and the seating is uncomfortable. I love this place though and have gone 4 times after living in madrid for a couple months. my favorite food item is the peanut butter banana french toast!

This is a cute fast casual breakfast place. It opened at 10 and it is new to get there when it opens as a line forms quickly. Our two choices of the croissant waffle and the bikini were amazing !!! The bikini is large and I couldn't finish it but we wanted something savory and sweet for the best breakfast yet in Madrid!!!

Came right when they opened and there was no line, but boy, half an hour later the line was out the door and there was no room to sit. Menus are QR codes on the table. The coffee and bakery menus are behind the counter. Got the red velvet and matcha lattes and both were really tasty. The latte art was so cute! We got the brioche sandwich with the turkey ham option and I wish I got the bacon, because I felt the turkey ham was just average. Bacon would've added an extra crunch to it. We also got a matcha waffle which was gigantic. Fruit on top were fresh. Everything was very photogenic and the whole cafe is aesthetically pleasing. They also have great music. Saw a couple pups in the cafe while we were there, which was nice of them to allow because I heard a lot of places that sell food/drinks don't allow pets inside. Overall had a great experience here and def a great stop for coffee and brunch!

Service and price it's outside of Madrid city center so prices are more reasonable and quality of food is great . It's like the American food diners back home highly recommended

**EAT HERE** WOW!! This restaurant has fresh, delicious food. Chewy, crunchy artisan bread. Perfectly cooked eggs. Staff is incredibly nice and patient. So many options to choose from too! We were so impressed. Coffee and Match was tasty. There are also sweet treats.

This place is legit. Conveniently located super close to our rental but we'd prob make the trek even if we were further away. We got the kimchi and bacon Sammy, two avo toasts and frutas oatmeal. All amazing, 10/10!! Highly recommend. Place was packed and apparently they get lines out the door. V cozy, v euro, certainly worth a visit. Gracias!

You have to try the Cilbir Turkish Eggs with that sour dough bread! It hit my flavor palate like it was christmas and all the lights were shining. Everything we had here was prepared with love. Compliments to the chef. There was a wait, but i was happy both times to taste this fusion.

Options of multiple pour over. Kimchi jamon was well worth 10 min wait. Busy busy spot!

white matcha and iberian ham + arugula avocado toast! YUM

This cute cafe made me feel like I was back in California! I came here with a big group of friends and we were able to snatch a table in the back! However, it can definitely get crowded, so plan in advance. I got the white matcha and the cup was huge! It tasted not too sweet and was perfectly comforting. There's a wide selection of toasts and bagels and I opted for the Iberian ham and arugula avocado toast with sesame oil. I never buy avocado toast out as I think it's a waste but this one was pretty satisfying. The service here was good and prompt. The bathroom was clean. Overall, no complaints!

Excellent avocado toast and cappuccinos in an intimate setting. One star less for slow food service.

A pair of classics in their respective cities (2 of 2)…read more - - - - - I'm not surprised there are a lot of reviews. Then, I've had this bookmarked for an eternity based on the reviews of a Yelp friend (acquaintance) from the Yelp Talk chapter who did quite a bit of traveling. I had seen Chocolateria San Gines before but did not go in. I don't know why. This time, I did go in. They have two salons across the street from each other. I prefer the one on the east side of the street, which has the taller ceilings and more glass and mirrors. There will be a line around the side, but it will move quickly. I knew they had chocolate based on their name, but I didn't understand how they factored it into the equation. I sort of assumed that one could get chocolate churros. After all, there are now chocolate cannoli shells and, in some cases, cannoli can also have chocolate filling. The lady at the counter very quickly gave me an education. One gets the standard churros, but they come with a chocolate sauce that you dip them into. This all made for an interesting snack. This is not a place intended for a meal. The churro have a nice bland sort of crunchiness and the chocolate sauce is one heck of a counterpoint. The combination is great. I also had a hot drink. Upon asking, they immediately provided me with a small glass of cold water - seen at many adjacent tables - probably to counter the effects of the richness of this snack. Be it at the counter or at the table, the staff was very well mannered and helpful, which was commendable for how busy they were. The interior is very clean and has a lot of history on its wall. The pricing was to my liking, so coming to Chocolateria San Gines is a "no brainer." Everything is there and the intersection of its history and visitors from the world over take this one to 5 stars. A friend of mine who once lived in Madrid laughed upon learning it was on my list. I mentioned I had already been to Mallorquina, which is a few blocks away on Plaza del Sol. The story was that Mallorquina is where Madrid's version of chatty magpies might go to do the dessert and coffee thing with their friends in the afternoon. It closes in the evening. Instead, Chocolateria San Gines is open all the time and might be the last stop of the evening or night before Madrilenos turn in from a night on the town. It is also very easy to reach, only a few blocks from either the Sol or Opera Metro stations, from which you can also take in fascinating nearby Plaza Mayor.

The churros here are a must try in Madrid, Spain…read more The chocolate sauce is divine and great for dipping the churros. There's a dining area to sit inside and outside. The service is relatively quick. The churros are crispy and not oily. If you're in Madrid go here!
