Avocado Raw
Nadia A.

We stopped into La Rollerie to get some breakfast after walking around Madrid. Even though they had just opened, it was pretty crowded. We waited a good minute before they were able to seat us. There is upstairs seating that you can see when you come in, but there is a whole downstairs section that has great additional seating for larger parties. They seemed a bit understaffed, but you could tell they were hustling. The Noric Brunch was my favorite. The eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise sauce is unique and the potatoes were really good. The Copenhagen is essentially the same without the Avocado tartar, potatoes and fruit/yogurt cup. The Noric full Brunch is pretty filling, so it's probably big enough to share. The Avocado Raw was also good. I was almost thrown off by the beets, but it wasn't too earthy. Coffee was delicious as well. Fun fact: They have an english version of the menu online in case you cannot read/speak Spanish.

For our last meal in Madrid, we needed a substantial breakfast to tie us over hours of travel. So glad we came to La Rollerie! The space is decorated to make you feel like you are sitting in a courtyard outside a quaint house having your meal. Very cute. We shared La Rollerie breakfast for two (16Eur) which came with two OJ, two hot drinks, two breads, emulsified tomato puree and four pastries. Plenty of food for two people and both sweet and savory choices! Also, our server was so cheerful and friendly, he really seemed to enjoy his work which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Chain restaurant offering a pretty side variety of brunch/lunch options! Stopped in on a Sunday around noon and were seated immediately. The dishes were very pretty and Instagram worthy. My club sandwich was very yummy and the fries that came with it were perfectly cooked. The avocado toast was a bit lacking in flavor, although they give you SO MUCH avocado in Spain! Like literally a full avocado on a single serving! But still a bit flavorless. Prices are a tad higher than you'd see elsewhere but it's a chain and very trendy it seems so that's to be expected. Not a bad option for a meal!

Fantastic breakfast! We stayed at a hotel nearby and walked right in. Marko made some fantastic recommendations on juice- tea and breakfast. We enjoyed everything. The grilled eggs and pancakes are some do the best I've had. Marko was very attentive and everything came out extremely quickly.

I stopped in on a Monday afternoon for a cappuccino. They were fairly busy for a Monday! I was able to snag a comfy chair by the window. The servers were working hard and were nice even though it was busy! I had my cappuccino w soy milk. It came with cacao sprinkled on top. It was fairly big and totally worth 2.5€. The inside is cute and I didn't look too deeply into the menu, but the food I saw people order looked pretty decent.

I walked 20 minutes in the rain super drenched over the planet display housing and it shows that it's open waste of time

As a business you should update when you are open and closed so idiots like me don't walk 25 minutes in the rain in order to be over closed

La Rollerie is a great place for breakfast and a snack and it has a wonderful menu for breakfast with incredible prices. The food was amazing with interesting flavorus and delicious egg benedicts! We tried the Copenhague and the Avocado raw. The copenhague was more traditional! the texture of the egg and the level. of cooking was just right, the temperature of the plate was also fantastic and tasteful. When it comes to the Avocado Raw, it was very fresh. If you like lighter dishes, I will go with the Avocado Raw because its less heavy and with the same amount of flavor. They do have pastries as well, we had the cinnabons dipped in flavors and they were all delicious. I loved each of them and i dont tend to be much of a sweet tooth. Should you want a delicious and affordable meal in the artistic district of downtown Madrid, look no further and visit La Rollerie! PS: Please dont forget to order the fresh orange juice, it tastes like itd just off the tree!!!!

A nice spot for an early morning breakfast and a coffee. Made our way here before a tour at the Royal Palace. The coffee Americano was good, and the girls like their tea choices. We had a nice basket of fresh breads and a small fruit platter for sharing. Breads seemed fresh with a decent variety of styles to choose from. My daughters were served a dish a slightly spicy tomato sauce for dipping bread in...it was quite good! I had never had such a thing at a breakfast meal, but it really hit the spot and I would definitely order it again. My wife and I shared an order of eggs benedict; it was perfect for splitting with runny eggs atop ham and hollandaise sauce. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Would definitely return here if we were in need of another breakfast meal.

Service here was excellent and the coffee was really good. More touristy, but definitely worth popping in for a coffee or quick bite while you are near Plaza Mayor. There was only a minor hiccup with the orders, but nothing a little google translate couldn't help me with! Pop in and have a bite!

Best breakfast we had in Madrid. Reason? The coffee was bomb! Also had the cinnamon roll and Spanish omelette. E cinnamon roll was essentially a fluffy bread with Nutella. NoT like we have in the states but great if you like Nutella! Come for the coffee!!

Brunch Nordico

My boyfriend and I went here for breakfast as it was recommended by our hotel and was a short walk away. Despite being quite busy, we got seated relatively quickly. I ordered the brunch Ibérico and he ordered the brunch Nórdico. At first, we were a bit surprised by the seemingly expensive prices (when compared to other breakfast places in the area). However, when considering that the brunch included coffee, orange juice, the main meal, and a sweet side, it seemed like a good deal! Overall an enjoyable experience and a great way to end our time in Madrid before catching the train.

I have to recommend this place! We went based on the reviews here and they were right. We had a fantastic pre-Christmasy breakfast. We ordered a few things. I specifically remember the Mexican eggs and the pita dips were really good. Don't hesitate!

Based on the definitive opinions of travel vloggers, this appeared to be the place to get the fabled chocolate con churros. Jamie W and I made our way here through the labyrinth of streets near Puerta del Sol. It was early evening so no surprise there was a queue, but it moved quickly because this historic place was a model of efficiency. It's the type of place where you need to be ready to order the moment you're in front of the hostess. Luckily, we had made mental notes of what to order from one particular vlogger, so we were ready. It only took a minute to secure one of their marble cafe tables. Our order arrived fairly quickly. It consisted of a 2,5€ plate of Churros, six long sticks of chewy, delicious dough. Unlike the Mexican version, it wasn't dusted with sugar because the 3,7€ cup of Hot Chocolate was more than enough (Photo 8). Incredibly rich and only lightly sweetened. The churros might've been enough for a neophyte, but we double-downed with a 2,5€ order of two Porros (Photo 7). Porras are a thicker, doughier version of churros, so of course, they were our favorites because they really held the chocolate with assurance. Even though we went through two cups of hot chocolate, we still had 2,4€ cups of Cafes con Leche to wash it all down (Photo 10). It was an ideal dessert experience because who doesn't love awesome doughnuts? Definitely a must-gorge when in Madrid. FOOD - 5 stars...the motherlode when it comes to chocolate con churros...get the porros AMBIANCE - 4 stars...crowded but historically atmospheric with enough elbow room SERVICE - 4 stars...speedy TOTAL - 5 stars...pretty essential Madrid experience RELATED - Exploring Madrid? Stepping into the alley feels like you're entering a vintage postcard. The workers were nice and I had a very pleasant time enjoying my churros and admiring the history and decor inside.

I'm not normally a breakfast person, but, well, a lot changes when I'm on vacation, especially in cities so known for their food, and more specifically, their coffee and pastries. They do have a slightly confusing system for ordering - at least when I was there, the pastries are in the front and ordered individually from there, like a bakery, but if you're getting drinks to drink there, you have to sit down and wait for a waiter, then if you're getting both, get up again to buy pastries, which they will then put on your open tab. Thankfully, everyone spoke perfect English, so it was an easy enough explanation and process - still a bit weird though. And we still got our coffee orders in like 3 minutes. Coffee-wise, we tried their fancy "Dubai matcha latte", which was... very good, super flavorful, just slightly sweet (it came with a sugar packet if you wanted it sweeter, which it definitely didn't need to be.) Not sure it justified, to me personally, being so much more expensive than all the extremely affordable, less "specialty" drinks, but it was very good. Also a "bombon", a drink word I also learned that day, and then was sad when I didn't see it on the menus at any of the other coffee shops I stopped at, because it was quite good, and, again, also quite cheap. *Super* sweet, obviously, but great. (I was amused that that one *also* came with a sugar packet, which it *definitely* didn't need.) I also tried their chocolate croissant, which, yeah, wonderful. Their pastries are a bit pricier than the coffee drinks, but the croissant melts in your mouth, great chocolate, tons of it, and not, as is often the case with otherwise good chocolate croissants, only in the center. Chocolate actually everywhere. A great croissant. Would definitely be back here often, if I weren't thousands of miles away, normally.

Where they really shine is their baked goods. I highly recommend the chocolate croissant with a coffee! I should've went here every day on my vacation. My only regret is not going early on my trip so I can go there everyday!
