Muscle Maker Grill is an example of how food should be prepared. I've been coming to this location for about a year now, and every time I come to this location I am amazed with their product. The staff is friendly, the establishment is great, and your order is ready to pick up without a wait. I recommend the Arizona, Turkey chili, and the Cajun Chicken Penne. We love the food here, and the fact its all high in protein. The staff has always been really nice and helpful - that's important to me. You can tell they appreciate the business, and are likeable people. We always get either takeout or delivery, but I'm sure we'll end up inside someday, the atmosphere is nice and casual. I've seen a couple bad reviews, but I never experienced slow delivery or cold food. They do stop taking delivery orders at 7:30; we learned that at 7:30, and I guess they really stick to it. I've ordered three times, so we've only sampled the menu, but I can say the Rocky Balboa wrap is awesome, and the turkey meatballs are better than any I've ever had. If I'm being honest, I can't think of any muscle-bound behemoths, gearing up for an intense workout, that'd consider the minuscule meals this place serves fitting for their diet. I've been to a couple of MMG and this Lodi location by far is my favorite, the place is always clean and neat, bathroom is always clean, the staff is amazing always smiling and having fun, when I order carry out I always get notified when my food is ready. We placed an order via grub hub. We called to see if we can cancel the cash payment and put it on a card and was told we need to do that through grub hub. 90 minutes later we are still sitting here waiting for our food and the man tells us he cancelled it. WHY???? we did not ask for it to be cancelled we simply asked to change the form of payment! Ordering in person seem to be the best option!! So they're officially closed. I called last week and there was no answer. The following day I was driving past and saw the windows all papered up. There is a sign on the door stating they're undergoing minor renovations and new management. They should not bother having a delivery service here for the following reason. We ordered and did not receive our food for almost an hour and a half. We had to call twice. When the food arrived and we asked why the food was so late, the driver said something to the effect that we shouldn't bother with delivery at that time of the day. That response while honest is not appropriate or even professional. It's bad business. Muscle Maker Grill should not offer delivery service if they can't deliver the food at a reasonable time. The chicken bites we ordered were ice cold and had to be reheated. The food is otherwise well prepared and flavorful. We'll be picking up the food next time. I hope they find a way to remedy late delivery as I'm pulling for a franchise like this to succeed like any small businesses in our area. read more

First of all I'm being very generous by rating this place with one star. here's my FIRST AND LAST experience with ordering from MMG lodi. My friend and i ordered a pick up order on Sunday night around 5:45, we didn't know that they close at six. We ordered the Arizona wrap and a side of turkey meatballs. 1-they gave us the wrong tortilla for the wrap, it's suppose to be the red one but we got the plain one. 2 chicken was way too dry. 3 the rice was hard and cold. 3 missing the Signature sauce. 4 the meatballs barely had any sauce or cheese on them and they were burned from the bottom, i mean like BLACK BURNED on the bottom. For the 2nd order my friend ordered the Arizona entree, For some reason they gave us a small portion, i eat at MMG at all the times, Englewood, Edgewater, even the original one in Colonia, and i'm pretty positive that all MMG packs their entrees to go in a much bigger tin, this one was definitely not MMG standards, back to the entree again, the rice was cold, DRIED chicken and over cooked T. Bacon, it was missing the scallions on top. BUT on top of all was the SMALL PORTION, like are you kidding me?? This entree for $10.70??? Oh, and finally when my friend asked for extra sauce OTS for the Arizona they told him that they were closed already. I mean this is just not the place to order from. Definitely the last time to ever order their again it was a bad experience, their cooks has to be better trained on how to follow the Franchise standards and on how to treat the first customer of the day as the last one of the day and on how to keep serving "FRESH" ingredients, isn't what they claim to have? This was my first time ordering from this location. I usually order from Carlstadt, which unfortunately is closed. I ordered the Italiano salad. The guy had it on its side, so it leaked through the bag and all over my desk. And then I had ordered the BBQ Pop-chips. They substituted another variety and when I called, I was told that since I didn't TELL them not to make any substitutions, they felt free to. What a crock. I made sure they refunded me for the chips. It may sound petty, but first of all Carlstadt always double-bagged their items so nothing would ever leak and they always called me or told me up front if they were out of something. I can't believe this is considered healthy food. Just looking at the menu I knew I wasn't going to get the best quality. It's obviously a fast food place branding themselves as healthy but nothing on that menu is actually good for you. They say their smoothies are made with real fruit but really it's a concentrate that they mix with ice. Says no sugar added but don't confuse that with no sugar. It's concentrated fruit juice so it's packed with sugar. I got one anyway because I'm starving and happened to be in the area but I had to throw it out because it was way too sweet and didn't even taste like mango. I also got a loaded baked potato cuz it was one of the only things on the menu with no meat. I ate a few bites but it was obviously microwaved and had no flavor. Broccoli tasted straight out of a frozen veggie bag. I was disappointed but not surprised. These chain restaurants are obviously given the worst ingredients to work with. The owner of the Lodi branch needs to restaff it with more competent individuals who have experience in the foodservice industry. There is only one guy who runs the counter. When he picks up the phone he never answers by saying "Hi Muscle Maker Grill how can i help you." Instead its a "yeah" and you are not even sure you dialed the right number. They also are short staffed so much that sometimes they a) don't pick up the phone when you call b) refuse delivery. You'd think they are busy, but when you drive by there is nobody in there - even during dinner hours. Once I walked in and that same guy was chatting it up more with one of his friends. Instead of taking care of the customer, he thought it was OK to continue his conversation with one of his friends for a few minutes. Can't believe that this guy actually gets away with this. This is a great franchise and these comments are specific to this store. The guy running the counter should be fired for poor customer service. read more

The food is mediocre to downright bad. I've had a chicken salad of theirs, which was basically some old refrigerated lettuce with small bits of unflavored chicken and a sauce that came out of a bottle. The price for this tiny salad was three times what it should have been. Another time, I had a chicken wrap which was something my three-year-old niece could have made. It was tasteless chicken sloppily put into a wrap with very few other ingredients, which were cheese, a bland sauce, and brown lettuce. The people who work there are nice, but given the price and food quality, I see no reason to ever go there again. read more

For a while I've been driving by a couple different Muscle Maker Grills and finally "indulged" last week. Now I ask myself, what was I waiting for? I had the Godfather. I thought that a dinner that was less than 400 calories would not be filling, boy was I wrong! The huge piece of butterflied chicken that I had was topped with mushrooms, peppers, mozzarella cheese, and balsamic dressing. The perfect combo. All on top of fresh crunchy broccoli. So filling, so tasty. Who needs pasta? However if you do, then order guilt free whole wheat pasta! I would totally go here on the regular.
