I hired this company to move me in December 2022. I had several items broken and contacted the manager who gave me the claims email. I have called various times. Text and emailed. No one from this company has ever contacted me about this. They were not cheap items that we broken. Do not use this company unless you are willing for it to cost you in broken items. We have used this company 3 times over the last 3 years. The first move was perfect, great guys, very professional. Nothing dammaged. The second time they got in a hurry at the end and broke 2 things. We just repaired them ourselves and did not file a claim. The 3 move last August, there were so many thing damaged, that this time we did file a claim. They agreed to the amount, we signed the papers, they strung us along for months and we never saw the money. Their crews are just not always trained well or maybe not at all. Excellent service - we packed most of our items but on the day the team wrapped everything else really well and before they moved anything that was already scratched they pointed the issue out to us. A few dings in the wall for some of the larger items were honestly admitted to - the dings were worse when the items were originally delivered. At the destination they were efficient and reassembled everything that needed to be disassembled for the move. This was the worst moving experience I've ever had. Clay's customer service was excellent however the move wasn't even satisfactory. I requested a 3 man crew to move me at 11am. Instead 2 men showed up at 1pm with 1/3rds of shrink wrap and a truck. To no surprise the move took 7 1/2 hours for a 2 bedroom apartment. The belongings consisted of only one adult and one child. I have never in my life been so disappointed from a service. They packed my storage completely wrong and I can already see from the outside I will have damaged belongings. Not only did they pack the storage incorrectly they couldn't unload the truck in its entirety resulting to having to storage more items in a separate location. At the end of the service I was left with a bunch of apologies and only 1 hour discounted from my total. The driver even asked if I would like to book them for the move out, this must be a joke. No effort was given to even move me efficiently so why would the move out be any different? I was also quoted and charged two different amounts per hour. 0/10 would not recommend I wish I could give negative star rating. read more

Just had to update my review. Still 5 star service. As long as I live in Texas I will only use Murray moving. I've never had movers do their job so quick and delicately as they do. They show up and get straight to work. They know that time is valuable and so are your things. This is my second time using them and I plan on using them again in a couple months. The three guys that helped me move this time were Marcus, Tavares, and Eduardo. I will definitely be requesting them in my next move. Great job. Great service. WORST COMPANY EVER. DO NOT USE!! The manager, Derrick, YELLED at me. I had a move scheduled for New Years Eve at 8am. At 8:15 I called the office because my movers hadn't showed. I called multiple times and no one answered. At 8:45 someone called me back and said they were 35 minutes away due to their boss not being prepared. They showed up around 9:30, an hour and a half late. My husband and I left to go close on our house. Around 12:45 they told my dad that they were going for a lunch break. 45 minutes later they were not back yet so I called, they had gone to the NEW house. THEY LEFT FURNITURE AT OUR OLD HOUSE. There was zero communication between the movers and my dad. They left a 1/3 of our furniture at our old house knowing we had to be completely out by 11:30. Once we finally got started at the new location, they scuffed our drive way, put holes in the wall going up our stairs, a huge gouge in our office and multiple scratches on our floor. They claim they will have someone come out and fix everything. Their boss, Derick, said to give us 45 minutes off of our total for the miscommunication. We still ended up paying $900 for the move. To top it all off, I called the manager, Derrick, a week later to discuss when someone would come make the repairs. He and I got into a very heated discussion over my moving experience. He claimed all I wanted to do was complain and that my incidences were just miscommunication. Be miscommunication or not, he had no right to raise his voice and be disrespectful. After 2 weeks and multiple contacting attempts I received an email claiming their workers told us the furniture was too heavy and they weren't comfortable moving it upstairs. That is FALSE information. They are refusing to fix the holes in the walls that their inexperienced guys put there. I am VERY disappointed with this company and will NEVER use them again. read more

They were able to wrap everything securely, and pack it in the truck with no problem. In summary: I have moved many times for my job. Most of my moves have been corporate moves with major van lines that were paid for by my employer. Based on this, I know what a good move should look like and my experience with Murray Moving was the complete opposite of a good experience. I found the company to be highly unprofessional and the owner demonstrated an extreme lack of integrity, in my case. The entire experience has been a nightmare and the saga continues, as they refuse to take responsibility for reconciling (through repair or replacement) furniture and goods that they damaged or completely ruined during the move. Here are the highlights: Murray packed my belongings last spring and moved them into storage. I suggested they come out and do an assessment of the job prior to moving day. They refused and stated the protocol is to staff the job based on square footage. Of course on the day of the move, the movers showed up without enough packing material. I witnessed the lead literally arguing on the phone with the head office requesting more packing materials, which the office didn't want to send because "[I] used too much already.." The "too much" material of which, I was paying for, by the way. Also, they had to send out additional packers and a second moving truck, which had not initially been contracted. The movers were not trained to pack. They did not protect my furniture properly (the packing job was laughable - really). Due to this negligence, damage was caused to several pieces of furniture and other decorative items. I was informed by the person who books the moves that, per their insurance/warranty policy, if I did not use Murray services to move me out of storage in a few months, they would not be responsible for any potential damage caused, because an additional company would have been introduced into the mix. Knowing that Murray had likely caused damage during the chaos on the front end of the move, I subsequently booked with Murray to move me out of storage (against my better judgement). When they moved me out of storage it was the perfect storm: I had booked six movers. Only five showed up. Of the five, one refused to work. He stood around with ear buds listening to music with his elbows on boxes. When he did "move" something. It was a small item, like the lamp in the photos attached, which should have been boxed anyway; they left furniture uncovered in the rain in the Public Storage parking lot; they dropped one of my couches on top of the other (uncovered) in the wet parking lot; it took five men 6 hours to unload a single 10x30 unit. In the meantime, a company called Square Cow movers came in and unloaded 3 units of the same size in 2 hours (this was confirmed by the Public Storage attendant). Clearly my crew was sluggish in an attempt to rack up more pay by the hour. The day begin at 9:00 a.m. and ended with them leaving my house at 11:00 p.m. They had to come back the following business day to assemble furniture. This time it was a different crew who actually seemed to know what they were doing; however, since the original crew did such a miserable job packing, these guys could not find any of the hardware to assemble my furniture. (They assembled my master bed incorrectly twice and had to come back out to reassemble). When I called the office to complain, the owner , Derek Bouton called me back and yelled "You need to stop complaining. If you don't like our services, you should not have used us. Most of the people who packed your furniture don't even work here anymore ". Yeah, so much for customer service. By the way, three of the guys who packed my furniture last spring were on the crew that moved me out of storage this fall. One of the items they broke is my 55 inch Sony TV. The owner picked it up and said he would take it to the "shop". After about two weeks, I checked on the status and was told they are not responsible because it stopped working due to "years of use" The anticipated shelf life on this TV is 100,000 hours. It would take 9 years of non stop use to meet the shelf life. I have only had the TV 4 years (purchased new) and I have multiple TVs in the house, so clearly the damage is not from years of use. I asked Murray to provide the name and address of the repair shop with their attestation of the diagnosis. To date, they have refused to provide any information and they still have possession of my television. Murray has not yet responded regarding the repair or replacement of the other damaged goods either. Unfortunately, I now have to take additional time out of my hectic schedule to try to resolve this matter through alternative means such as the legal system. Words of advice... if you choose to go with Murray, don't hire them to pack your belongings and if they do have a "good" crew, cross your fingers that they'll send you THAT crew. read more

Local move within Texas Recommendation: Do not use Murray Moving Company. Murray Moving operates in Houston, Tomball, and Austin, Texas. My wife and I used them to move from our home in Cypress, TX (plus a storage unit close by) to Magnolia, TX. Choosing them was based on their website and favorable impression made by their sales contact. The move proceeded fairly well. However, it was discovered after the move that one of the 6-man moving crew stole two expensive watches (anniversary gifts to each other). We filed a theft claim with Murray Moving, and they assigned a claim number and a claims dept. contact, who at first was communicative and seemed to be proactive and supportive. However, the claim has been ignored and the company has since been and continues to be unresponsive, despite multiple (and unreturned) email and voice message communications. I strongly recommend to Texas residents to avoid use of Murray Moving, given their apparent hiring practices and because if you should have a damage or theft claim, they are not likely to resolve the matter to your satisfaction, but will simply avoid it in the hope that you will drop it. There are many moving company options. So, Murray Moving Company need not be an option for you. read more

We unfortunately had a very bad experience with this company. Granted, the guys worked hard, but the job was left unfinished and they were not very sufficient with their time. My husband was having to continually offer suggestions on how to move furniture because they could not figure it out. They took 4.5 hours to do the same job another company done less than a year ago with more furniture and that company completed the job in 2.5 hours. All furniture put together and placed where I wanted it. Our furniture by Murray movers was just placed in pieces in rooms not put together and we were completely ignored when we asked them to put it together. We also had damaged pieces. This was a VERY short distance move! Same neighborhood 4 turns total including driveways! Very unhappy. We unfortunately learned we would have to recommend and choose a larger branded company next time. Sometimes, those extra trip charges or fees save you in the long run!!! ** Yes we were refunded the CHEAPEST amount possible. The company did ask what they could do to make it right, but I feel that, good business practice for the company is to make that decision!
