Doing a small move of a few large items from one end of the Woodlands to another. Got several estimates from movers and most wanted a minimum of two hours, fuel change etc. Woodlands Moving and Storage agreed they would do it with two folks and in an hour. Needed to reschedule a few days before and that was no problem. On the day of the move, the movers were on time, polite and helpful. Although it was raining, they accomplished the move quickly and safely and as promised. They were willing to wait if necessary until the rain stopped, but for our few items it was not a problem. This company was not transparent with their rates. Additional guys showed up without my knowledge, an additional moving truck showed up, again without my consent, & without even my knowledge until I noticed 2 trucks arrive at my new house. There was no estimate offered or maximum charge for the move, as (I discovered later) they're required to provide. There was no communication surrounding the moving supplies, their cost, no itemized list of supplies provided, only an arbitrary "supplies - $350" written on the invoice, nor even provided after the fact upon request. One of the company's partners, Scott, was unwilling to provide answers to my billing questions, it was difficult to complete a sentence without him interrupting me & making legal threats. The movers also destroyed my $5k mattress. When brought to Scott's attention, he blamed me for not inquiring about, nor purchasing, additional insurance coverage. The information, he claimed, was provided to me - it was not. There's a line to initial on the contract, to acknowledge receipt (which is blank), & that I was expected to flip through & read everything on the clipboard. I was expected to rummage through someone else's clipboard without any reference of its existence. Regarding the destroyed mattress, they offered me $150 for it. When it became clear that communicating with Scott would be unproductive, I requested to speak with someone else from the company but it remained unacknowledged until Scott suddenly ended the call. I've unfortunately had to consult with legal counsel to determine how to best further pursue it. This matter currently remains unresolved. read more

Woodlands Moving and Storage moved us as downsized. They moved three bedrooms worth of furniture along with the major living areas. Everything was handled perfectly with no damage. They were efficient and made good on all their promises. The only problem (minor) was they missed a couple of boxes, which I found after everything was set up in the new home. ZERO STARS: Working with Woodlands Moving and Storage was the worst moving experience we have ever had. We had an agreement with the main office concerning how our home and our storage unit contents would be moved. On the day of the move, I talked to "Ed" the lead mover and he told me it was not going to go that way. Ed was offended that I would "tell them how to do their job". Ed continued to speak in a derogatory manor to me throughout the day. We were told by the main office that the few things we didn't already have packed up were no problem as the crew would help us box those up. When at our house though, nope - not the case. "We don't take shoes", we were told we couldn't bring them loose things to load up (backyard playground pieces - one was a plastic basketball hoop), and they wouldn't work with us on the loose stuff in our garage. Ed was downright offensive at times directly to me - I WAS PAYING $200 PER HOUR for this! I asked him if he got paid hourly or by the job. He wouldn't answer telling me that was not important. At the end of the day, after not being able to fit all of our things in the trucks, he offered for us to hire him on the side to finish it up. When I didn't respond that we would hire him, he told me "I don't work for you or for them" [meaning Woodlands Moving and Storage], as he's a contractor for them apparently. We called the office the next working day to complain about the downright offensive service and were told Ed was just tired as he'd been working too much and "gets grumpy" and "probably just needs a day off". The person in the office also told us this was not the first complaint they'd had. I will never, ever hire this company again and will suggest to anyone - avoid them like the plague. read more

I wish I could give this company no stars. Whatever you do, do not use them. They are beyond horrible. When I posted about my experience on my neighborhood Facebook page, many people had similar experiences. I read stories about broken things and stolen items. First off, one of the guys commented about how spoiled my kids are bc of the amount of toys they have in the house. Next, they didn't finish the job. The top of my daughters bed is not put together and the screws are no where to be found. My front door is damaged, things are not put together, door on dresser had to be fixed, etc. They also claimed they ran out of room in their truck and didn't take all the items. Lastly, they asked for a tip. How rude. I could go on but I need to finish unpacking. Trust me, stay far away from this company! Oh and I tried to call and the owner is taking awhile to get back to me. No customer service!!! read more

After traveling for four days straight, the last thing we wanted to do was unload all of my things that had been shipped to Houston a month prior. These men were patient, quick, and professional. Used them for my hour away move. It's worth it to note that the movers are contracted. They arrived on time and were very quick to pack and unpack my items from the truck. They also were significantly cheaper than any other company that quoted me on Yelp. They only took 2 hours in total, including the 1 hour drive. I used Woodlands Moving & Storage in April and I had a horrible experience. The crew was over an hour late. They broke my bed frame and it took them 4 hrs to move a 1 bedroom with 3 guys locally. After they left i noticed they even put the mattress upside down. How stupid can you be to put a pillow-top upside down. The crew was unprofessional and had the balls to ask me if i would be tipping them in cash or on the check. I told them " Don't play in traffic"... that's your tip !!! . Keep away from this company. I would put a 0 star on this review if there is an option. Since we are residing oversea, I had a friend help supervise the whole moving process and sign the contract etc during the moving day. However, before the move, we phoned the company and reserve the time and discussed the details of the contents. We had a hot tub to move from our garage to the first floor storage unit. The office was aware of this and assure us that they will bring a trailer to load the hot tub. On the moving day, they arrived without the trailer and thus can only move 3/4 of our contents to the storage unit and was at the storage earlier before the office opened. They had to wait for half an hour before the storage opened and also had to do the second trip to go back to get the trailer and then to move the rest of the stuff from the house to the storage. All these minutes were charged to my payment. When the guys finished the job at the storage site, he called me to ask for the payment. He charged me 4.5 hours for their clock time and I had to argue for the time they wasted. At the end the guy agreed to lower the time to 3.5 hours. So I gave him the credit card information. However, they charged 4.5 hours on my credit card despite the agreement of 3.5 hours. After we called the office to clarify the charge, the office did not do anything. We dispute the charge of 1 hour through the credit card company. Unfortunately, the credit card company only looked at the contract listing of 4.5 hours and not the explanation of the verbal agreement. With the situation like this, we called the office again and had very bad experience with their attitude and unwilling to solve the problem. I was on the phone with the manager and my conclusion is "I will never use Woodlands Moving and Storage" again in my life. The workers were not honest (over charged the amount after getting our credit card information), not professional (showed up earlier than agreed upon time, and show up without the right equipment), not accountable for their fault (would not take the responsibility of making above mistakes), and the awful customer service (the conversation on the phone with the manager was horrible). I have learned a lesson from this company and hope no one should have to deal with this company like me. read more

This is literally the worst company I have ever dealt with! I hired them to pack & move me from Cypress to Spring. It was a 3000 sq ft house to a 3000 sq ft house. The packers were more than 2 hours late for the appointment. And only showed up after 3 phone calls from me! I should've known then... but I figured it was too late and I should let them complete my move. The packers packed what they felt like packing and left. And by packed I mean literally dumping stuff into boxes and not labeling those boxes. Then the movers came the next morning, over an hour late. They complained that not everything was packed. Yeah well, your company's bad. I was promised 5 guys and 2 trucks. I got 4 guys and 2 trucks. And of course, my stuff didn't fit in those 2 trucks. So they tell me that's my problem. And just left whatever they couldn't fit---which included my patio set, an entire garage & attic of trunks and boxes, and several other misc items. When we arrived at the new house, they just put stuff wherever they wanted. Didn't ask me anything. Built my bed with the wrong boards. Didn't fully build my entertainment center. Scratched walls, lost the handles to my safe (they put them in "one of the boxes" according to the office personnel---took me 4 days to find them!) By the end of the move, one guy decided it would be appropriate to take off his shirt... Wow, talk about unprofessional! What a disaster of a company. I was 7 months pregnant with twins at the time of the move. I would've been better off moving all my stuff myself bc I had to make an additional 15 trips w a couple friends and pickup trucks to move what was left anyway. Please save yourself the money & hassle and hire ANY OTHER MOVING COMPANY or ask some high school kids to help you... they'd do a better job than this company. read more

Used Woodlands Moving & Storage to move from my 3rd floor apartment to another apartment within the same complex on the second floor. (Walking distance) Spoke with Steven who suggested a 3 man crew, which I was perfectly fine with. Any way to save me money. As Texas weather goes, it's pouring down raining the morning of the scheduled move. The moving company calls me to reschedule for the next day. (Which I totally understood.) Next day comes and only 2 guys show up. Unaware I was on the third floor, they called the office and spoke with Jason about needing another guy to help. Jason informed them that I originally wanted 2 people so HE made the call to only send out 2 people. (I wanted 3 movers, that's what the quote was for from Steven) 2 guys weren't going to be able to do the job fully within the 2 hours that they originally quoted which would cause me to fork out more money. I then called Jason and he apologized and said he would honor the price of the quote if it ends up taking longer. All in all, the 2 movers were great. They got right to moving things, did not lollygag and basically said they would move all the heavy boxes and furniture to save me money. They moved a queen bedroom set (bed, dresser and nightstand), kitchen table, 2 couches, coffee table and a few boxes and set up the furniture in 1 hour and 45 minutes. I ended up moving everything else myself. If you want a partial job done, book this company. read more

Moved about 20 miles in February. Somehow, in that short distance, they lost my dining room table. I have the leaf and chairs, but no table. Very disappointed with this company. We've used them to move seven times. Recommended them to two family and friends who also used them. We had an appointment at 2pm this afternoon for them to come load up our furniture. Everything is wrapped and ready to go. 2:15pm rolls around and still no one. We called several times and left messages. Finally get a text back, not even a call, to call another number for someone else to come because he couldn't wait until 2pm. It is now 3pm. My girlfriend took charge of moving me out of one place and into another due to me working overseas. Bless her heart it was a big job for one to take on. She decided to use The woodlands movers and storage and i was a huge mistake. First off the guys were late then while they were moving all the stuff she found the guys ( jeremy and kieth) were goimg through my stuff and playing with different things. She had to get onto the guys about staying out of my boxes and to quit lookimg thru stuff. These guys were very unprofessional and took advantage of a woman. They asked questions like " where's your man?" Freaked her out to the point that she called me over-seas and discussed it with me. Well 3 weeks later and i am finally home and starting to lut things away and BAM! Missing items.... I contacted the office and they told us to becarful about accusing their guys of that. Well it don't take sherlock to figure out that if things go missimg from poimt A to B and the woodlands movers amd storage we the guys moving us then it has to me them. STAY AWAY from these guys.
