I have used this company twice before and been very happy. The day after my move this time I noticed damage that was covered up. A table leg broken that had a screw attaching it and table with broken leg hidden against wall. The cord on a power chair ripped put of chair and hidden in arm. If I could give a MINUS rating I would. By the name of the company I thought off-duty firemen were trying to earn extra money. I was told the company is owned by firemen. The crew they sent had one person that knew what he was doing and 3 young, inexperienced, and not too strong guys. My husband and I are experienced with moving companies have moved across country 4 times in 18 years. We scheduled Firefighting's Finest to move our belongings from our storage unit to our new home and the next day us out of our apartment. They arrived promptly both days. We paid $150 for extra insurance. The movers broke the frame and beveled mirror to our triple dresser. It was handmade in the USA years ago and the furniture manufacturer is out of business. They also broke the frame and glass out of an over-sized map. They also broke the frame and glass out of a large landscape print we've had for years. We CAREFULLY packed 4 wardrobe boxes of all of our hanging clothes we didn't want wrinkled. The boxes we turned on their sides and heavy boxes stacked on top bending the rods and the clothes were in a pile at the bottom of the box. I told them to disassemble a large, round, tiered bookcase and they would not listen to me so when they got to the front door it didn't fit through it. They tried and ended up banging the edges and nicking the shelves. Finally, they realized it had to be disassembled! Several other pieces of wood furniture were nicked and scratched. We even had to pay OVERTIME because they didn't finish in the time they thought they would. The deductible for the insurance is $500. In discussing how they would repair the items damaged we realized it would not to the original condition. No beveled mirror. The repairs they would do would be cheaply done so there cost to make the repairs would about the same or less than the deductible. I really didn't trust them to touch our belongings again. Rather than having them do the repairs I asked for our insurance payment to be refunded. Lance Potter was surprised at that offer and accepted it. To date, nearly 3 months later, we have not received the $150 we paid for extra insurance and we have paid for the repairs ourselves. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! read more

Moving is the worst but I had a wonderful experience with Ebraham, Brandon and Layne. They were professional and contentious. They wrapped my furniture really well. They were careful with items identified as fragile. They were so much more polite than I deserved when I was still packing and moving things out of the way. I had a three hour process to pick up my moving truck and I was still packing when they got here. Unlike the last movers I used...my furniture will not be scratched or ruined. Best of all they were very careful about staying within the time frame. I have used less expensive movers but they really damaged my furniture when I did. And I had one company hold my furniture hostage until I paid them a lot extra. These three guys and Rick who scheduled my move were very helpful. I highly recommend them. My daughter's bed frame was damaged beyond repair. I specifically asked for it to be taken apart and loaded into a pod; they missed screws or tried loading it without taking it all apart and the wood panels are destroyed where screws stayed attached and panels broken off (purchased 2022, practicallyin new condition). My treadmill (bowflex, purchased 2023 also practically in new condition) and wooden TV cabinet ( a couple of years old, minor worn condition) were cosmetically damaged. I understand some damage can happen to heavier large items, but I chose a company I thought would have honest workers. The workers tried hiding the damages by putting a piece of paper on the bed panels. I waited for the claim process prior to writing about my experience to see how the company would handle this mishap. I received a check for $140 due to the weight of the bed and treadmill. This is a $2200 bed frame from Pottery Barn that can't be touched up or repaired. The total "weight" is irrelevant as the panels should have been properly taken apart by removing all of the screws. The weight of an individual panel is not that much, I can move them by myself without a dolly. I needed help taking the bed apart and loaded due to having a baby and a toddler with me. Besides the damaged bed frame and cosmetically damaged treadmill and tv cabinet, I would still not recommend. They did not load the pods properly. They left a lot of open space at the top as if they weren't sure how to stack properly meaning I had to rent an extra pod since I had 2 pods loaded half way instead of to the top. Also, my large tv and art boxes were loaded in on their sides. I don't understand this when the boxes were clearly marked with arrows and tv pictures on them. I didn't need the extra stress of wondering if they got damaged until we were able to unpack them. Nice guys, I guess, but totally clueless on moving stuff and taking furniture apart read more

When moving, we priced several movers, and though they were more expensive, we opted to go with this group given their community service role. Two days before our new home close, the lending agency got behind, and our close was bumped a week. We had to be out of our old home a few days before the new close. While Firemen's Finest told us they had storage, they said they could not accommodate us and move our stuff to storage for a few days until our new close date. Next, when we asked about rescheduling our move, they told us they could not accommodate us for three weeks. They told us they could move us early if we could find storage. We called all over and could not find anything available. Firemen's Finest would not give us our down payment back. Though we understand they are busy, we were frustrated we lost several hundred dollars, and they were unsympathetic and did not offer us anything when they recognized they had no options for us. So I'm moving from Dallas to Houston and apparently accidentally called THIS location which is north of Houston instead of the location in Dallas. The sales person I spoke with, Adolfo, literally tried to get me to agree to a moving price that would've included the HOUSTON moving team driving all the way up to Dallas, getting my stuff, and then driving it all the way back down to Houston. How shady. He SHOULD'VE just forwarded me and my information to the Dallas location instead of trying to screw me over and WAY over charge me by $2,000. All he wanted to do was get the sale and f**k me over. I realized this when the Dallas office called me and said they didn't know why the Houston office was trying to handle my move. That, and everywhere else I looked the quotes were from $1,500-2,500 less. Makes a lot of sense considering they were trying to charge me for an extra 4 hours of travel. Unethical. Greedy. Shady. Shady. Shady. **DO NOT RECOMMEND** UPDATE: As you can see from my review, Robert, I spoke with the Dallas office (they called me) and the price to have a truck bring my stuff straight from Dallas was over $1,000 less than the rip off quote y'all gave me. Your own company even said y'all were being shady. So don't say I falsely accused you of being unethical. Because you were. UPDATE #2: And I am loathe to go back and forth with a company attempting to mislead potential future customers. When I said I spoke with Dallas I was referring to Dallas/Fort Worth. Whether that office was in Garland or Fort Worth is a moot point. I did not speak with any other companies before your DFW location contacted me, so your assertion that I interjected anything in regards to the other company is false. FireFightings Finest (FFF) is the best moving company I have used over the years and I have moved a lot! Just in the state of Texas I've moved twice already and have another move coming up. I have used FFF on a move from DFW to Houston area and then back again from HOU to DFW area. Each time their teams showed up when they promised and moved all my items with care. They worked with me on special items I had and made sure to use extra care on them. Albert is the BEST and has Lead the teams I had on BOTH moves (which was just a coincidence), but next move I am going to request he be the Lead guy again. Firefighters finest I chose to move with firefighters finest and pay a premium to move (they were around 40% more than a few other companies I researched) I chose them because they had a clean slate on BBB and good ratings on yelp. This could not be further from the truth in my experience. I have many nice possessions, so I went ahead and purchased replacement insurance for any possessions that might be damaged in the move. Sure enough some damaged occurred due to lance's team not properly packing my bed frame. I have a very nice hand embossed metal bed frame from anthropolgie that I paid $2,200 for. It was damaged in the move. After I submitted this claim to the insurance I received an offer of $600. The bed frame cannot be repaired. I bought a FULL REPLACEMENT warranty and I was offered $600 as a settlement for the damage. I let Lance Potter know that I was not happy with this. The bed is hand embossed and cannot be repaired and replacement parts cannot be purchased. My expectation with the FULL REPLACEMENT WARRANTY that I bought was that it would be replaced, all $2,200 of it. Instead I was offered $600. I told Lance Potter that we had some friends moving with him in a couple weeks and we would tell them to switch companies. He rudely asked for their name and said he'd let them know that they need to switch companies. They didn't stand behind their work and offered an insulting and unacceptable settlement after damaging my expensive bed frame, and he had the nerve to get cute with me and offer to cancel the move with my fiends. This is very different from the professional front they put on when you book with them. I would not recommend moving with Lance Potter's firefighters finest to anyone for those facts above. Don't comment and say you're sorry, Lance. You are a cover up artist with these types of disputes. If you were sorry you wouldn't have copped an attitude and told me you'd tell my friends you're canceling their move. You'd pull out your check book and write, but you haven't. You aren't sorry.
