I researched the car I wanted and found it in the colors I wanted at this dealership, Murray Motorworks. Made an appointment with Murray BMW to drive it (all calls to this dealership get routed through Murray BMW). No one was there to greet me, but eventually Jerry, the sales manager, came out and introduced himself. Was a bit of a wait before the car arrived from another dealership. Went for the test drive, and I loved it. Didn't argue about the price, which was a fair one. Thought I could be in and out in a couple hours. Nope.
Lots of waiting around. Vince did the initial presentation of the finance paperwork and attempted to sell me all the extra stuff that I didn't want. He took two calls while sitting across the desk from me.
More waiting around. Financing rate was OK, not great, but I didn't argue. Thought the paperwork would be forthcoming quickly. Then the finance guy, J.D. (who had to be asked to introduce himself), said they could get me a much lower rate if I added on the extended warranty. Sigh. OK, just do the paperwork and let's be done with it. J.D. made a big deal about how my payment wasn't going to change (it actually turned out to be a few bucks higher), that I was getting a great deal, etc. You know the drill.
More waiting around. After asking many questions to figure out where all the numbers were coming from, I signed the paperwork. Had to ask for copies of the signed paperwork, which J.D. did provide via email, after telling me it wasn't their protocol. If I hadn't asked, I would have gotten copies only of the unsigned paperwork.
After I signed, Vince told me there was only one key fob, but the other one should show up at Murray BMW. He said he would follow up. He didn't. I called him a week later. He said he would follow up the next day. He didn't. I called Jerry, the sales manager. He said Vince would follow up. Vince left me a voice mail and sent me an email IN ALL CAPS to say he would follow the next day. He didn't. I called Jerry, again.
In all of these many calls, I was transferred to the wrong voice mail twice, hung up on twice, told there was no voice mail for Jerry once, and told to call back twice.
They finally ordered me a new key fob. Vince called and told me I had to come pick it up. I called Jerry the next day and asked if one of their guys could deliver, because every hour I spend dealing with this issue is time I am not billing out to clients. They did deliver it, but it wasn't programmed, which cost me $80 at a Honda dealer.
I don't recommend them. Others have reported a "laid-back" style here, and I would agree. It's super casual--not what I'm looking for when dropping $20K on a car. read more
