The outside is a nice atmosphere but the flys were pretty annoying landing on myself or on the table. They do have these fans to deter the flys but they only help so much. We were welcome by a waitress who brought us to a table. I ordered a "WELL DONE" Angus burger but was brought a MEDIUM RARE, so I was pretty disappointed by that. What chef doesn't know how to prepare WELL DONE BURGER! The only good thing that I enjoyed was the taste of the beef despite having blood dripping out of my buns. This restaurant has so many inconsistencies that I didn't know who my waiter was. Mind you they were not that busy yet the didn't have the decency to come out of the restaurant to ask us "how are food was going" or if we needed our water cups to be refilled! Our food took almost an hour to get it out of the kitchen!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO WATCH "HELLS KITCHEN" TO LEARN HOW TO RUN A GOOD SUCCESSFUL RESTAURANT! WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL!

TLDR. Awesome food and even better on a Tuesday on the patio with your dog and family…read more Recently went to Grounds for a late lunch this week. Even though it was late on a Tuesday the patio was still busy. We got a nice table outside because it was a beautiful day and we had our GSD with us. Shared the beet salad and the chicken burrito and also a kids hamburger with fries for the pup ( fries were for us). PROTIP: We took the option to split each dish by the kitchen and although it cost a couple bucks more, you get a little more of everything! Beet salad was solid with perfect allocations of all ingredients. I would say it was a bit heavy on the dressing but I like minimal dressing and my partner said it was perfect so there you go. The burrito was "wet" and delicious! Lots of flavor fresh ingredients and very saucy. Only thing it lacked was a little heat. Ask for tapatio if you like a little spice. The hamburger by the way, was larger than a normal hamburger you get on the kiddie menu. And the fries were piping hot and fresh. Our dog loved the burger as he should and we downed all the fries. Highly recommend and will be back!

When the dish was placed before me the bread slid to the other side of the white dish that had no other accompanying garnish like a piece of lettuce or parsley. It was one, maybe a 2" x 5" very thin piece of sourdough toast. Hardly a snack. Bacon was obviously cooked hours before and very overcooked. This dish was hardly appetizing as it was covered by three slices of very crispy bacon which fell to the side, revealing about four microscopic chips of tomato and 4 of avocado. The avocado was over ripe and black and I could barely see the yellow tomato. I was very disappointed in the visual appearance of this dish, to say the least! And the ingredients were barely present to illicit any flavor. I was given silverware, but upon trying to cut the toast the whole thing fell apart. I pieced it together and used my hands. Now, I know fresh food items are expensive, but this item in no way warranted the price of $16.75! I do not recommend this very busy, seemingly popular eatery.

Their carbonara was so good I forgot to snap a photo! They make it with local guanciale aged for six months, and local duck egg yoke. Amazingly fresh and similar to what I had in Rome. Their burger also beat the one I had at the steakhouse and many other places. The smoked ribs were top notch as well. They change their menu frequently, so you gotta be sure to check their website. If you're looking for a beautiful patio space near the creek and you care for good food but not the fancy stuff, go no further. They serve in paper plates. You order at the counter and pickup your food when it's ready. Enjoy!

My issue is more with educating the staff. I was not told that I needed to grab my own plates, napkins, fork....everything. We were sitting up in the loft. The pizza was brought up, dropped off on the table. We had nothing but our drinks on our table. The lady at the counter didn't say anything. The server could have at least given us a heads up. When I mentioned it down stair near the counter, the lady that had rang us up said "can't please everyone" to another customer. What bothers me the most is that I tipped before this experience. Therefore, I was not given an opportunity to monetarily respond. With all of our boys... I took at least 20%. I tipped 20% and I'm disappointed.

Wouldn't come here, I'm wondering if they are rude to people from out of town on purpose. Next time I would just put a sign up that visitors will not be welcomed and treated poorly. The girls working were so unbelievably rude. After the snarky "what do you want" at the start of the night, that should have been our sign to leave. The service was very slow, they were busy but met with attitude every time we got another round. At the end of the night we got our bill and luckily someone in our group caught that we were charged $25 for a trucker hat which none of us requested to purchase. We brought this to the girl's attention and her response was "well that's why I told you to check the bill." In a sarcastic and rude voice. I strongly believe based on this interaction that they charge unsuspecting out of town visitors for their merch and hope that people won't notice and then they just pocket the money? We then asked for a receipt which we never received.... Shady. I really cannot get over how rude the staff was and can't wait to try other places in Murphy's and never return to this establishment. Pretzel was yummy though. So they get two stars just for the pretzel.

Then our salami and meat tray came out with meat that was gray and discolored. It looked disgusting and was must definitely spoiled. We'd lost our appetites and didn't feel comfortable eating anything at that point. The waitress told us the owner plates and inspects everything before it goes out. She brought the tray back, we could hear him yelling. He said the meat looked that way because it was cured and he told her to tell us we weren't welcome back (don't worry sir that won't be an issue). Our waitress was lovely, but she was put in a terrible position. What should have been a nice dinner for three friends became awkward and unpleasant. We won't be back.
