There is a good guarantee, and the people who work there actually know about the plants they are taking care of. They are super helpful! We could tell they were making way for Christmas Trees. Thinking we couldn't accomplish this, and getting ready to leave, all of a sudden, their employee Stephanie appeared. Without a hitch, she asked us what we needed. We then received extensive information on what was available. Not only was she educating us on varieties of lilac bushes, but she was also going to go into was already put away into storage for the spring to bring us what we asked for. Wow! Talk about going above and beyond. She actually brought out 4 bushes so we could choose wisely. We chose our two, and with Stephanie's advice purchased the fertilizer to go with it in planting. I checked out the hot house, and Platt Hill employees were all over the place preparing for Christmas. Everyone employee greeted me and kept working at the same time. I would say the store will be ready for Christmas in a couple of days. I believe they are having an open house this weekend. Thank you, Stephanie for such an uplift on an ordinary buying experience. Next step is buying the Christmas tree. Can't wait to feel the true spirit.

I can't get myself to go in the opposite direction from my main errand, even if the total distance covered ends up being longer. Needed parts, specifically garage door hinges. It's a huge Menards, with very large signs attached from the ceiling indicating which was what. We went to the same area where they sell garage door openers, hoping to find someone to help us. But nope, the hanging display had steel hinges. I was afraid that they would only sell them in complete sets, but they sold them individually . There wasn't a huge variety or brands, but the piece we wanted was there and for a low price (same as what Amazon was selling a hinge for). So we got a couple of different ones, a set of rollers in case the existing ones could be replaced. It wasn't too busy, but they had enough registers open so the wait was minimal (one person in front of us). Menards has the payment register all the way at the end of the shopping belt, so as soon as it's your turn, you are encouraged to move there so you can bag your own purchases while paying for it. it does mean that you can't verify the scanned price is what you think it is. We paid and were on our way...need to make sure that our 11% rebate forms are filled out and submitted.

Reader, he remembered us from a month ago--the only other time I've been in this store. I know he wasn't just saying that because he cooed over my baby and specifically remarked about the fact that she was awake this time instead of sleeping through the shopping trip (which was true). This is what makes shopping at local businesses so much fun; you get to established a rapport with someone who lives what they do, lives their neighbors, and wants to make sure that you enjoy shopping with them. Again as I came through I thought about how I wish I could hire an interior designer with Kenneth Ludwig on the shortlist. They didn't disappoint with their Christmas decor. They have lots of ornaments, all beautiful, and other holiday items. I REALLY love the stocking holders they have. They look like those old ceramic Christmas trees that lots of our grandmothers had, and it even lights up. I am almost certainly going to be returning before Christmas to pick up a couple. If you're in the neighborhood, I highly encourage a drop by.

I stopped by Kenneth Ludwig Chicago because I learned he sells CR Laine furniture and that is the brand I had my eye on. Upon arriving, Kenneth was welcoming and listened to what I wanted. He's so knowledgeable about furniture and design, not pushy at all, and patient. I've been in his store a few times and each experience was great. I did end up purchasing a settee from Kenneth and that was about 1.5 years ago. The buying process was simple. The small couch is still in great shape, easy to clean, and looks great in my house. It was on the pricier side of furniture, but I not a shocking price. I will consider going back to Kennth Ludwig Chicago when purchasing my next nice piece of furniture.

Last year, when a few of the plants showed signs of distress just two weeks after purchase, I brought in photos and spoke with the horticulturist. Her response felt dismissive, as though my concerns weren't taken seriously. I experienced the same treatment again today. I was told, "We don't cover any of our perennials. It was a dry winter," with little acknowledgment of my prior concerns or investment. It's incredibly frustrating to feel dismissed twice, especially after spending so much and trying to be proactive. I used to speak very highly of Breezy Hill, but after these experiences, I can no longer do so in good faith.

We go to check out and the pants were the only clearance item we had. They ring up full price, which no big deal, it happens. The associate studies the pants! Checking the DPCI to make sure it matches. Ok, that's fine. She then proceeds to call over a total of 3 people over a 5 minute period while they all study the tag. We say it's fine, if there is an issue we won't buy them. The manager comes and says no, we can't sell you these for the price the tag has on it, I will sell them to you for $24. Huh? So I can't pay what the price tag says? She says it's wrong. I informed her there is a shelf full of them with the same price and asked did the DPCI match? She didn't even know what a DPCI was... the associate confirms the match. She then says they have had a lot of theft by the associates (nothing to do with me) who tag things wrong for their friends. I laugh and say look at our cart and receipt, nothing was clearance but the pants and if that was my plan I would want something of real value! Not pants. She says she isn't accusing us. I check out and say it's ok, we will buy what we have. She walks away to check our story and after she sees there is a whole shelf of pants with the same price she pushes us to buy the pants. Offers us free Starbucks for the trouble. We decline. She keeps talking practically begging us to buy the pants. My husband buys 1 pair because we are simply ready to leave at this point and she lets it be. I don't think it's appropriate to make a staffing issue with theft, the customers issue. Especially when it's something as cheap as pants. I would think they would do multiple items and items of value! If Target has this issue, they should track and manage it internally, not harass/ slightly accuse the customers.

If you notice the vehicles in the parking lot you'll see the customer base they now need to serve. This store is always out of popular items as they try and force you into purchasing other products. Like, who wants Target brand food? There's a reason why the stock is down $50.00 for the year or 38%. Corporate decision makers are asleep at the wheel, buyers are not paying attention to product selection, and local management for this store are just bodies with no added value or skill. The average spend of a Target customer is $49.00 per visit and an average of just 21 visits per year.
