We got the chance to meet two of the family members, and they were just lovely! Very kind; my family and I felt welcomed. The pumpkins were very reasonably priced, and we bought way more than we would have normally because we didn't feel price gouged. Just be aware there is no "lunch" food. My family and I had intended on eating lunch during our trip there, we should have looked on the website to check ahead! But there were lots of delicious dessert foods that we enjoyed, I particularly liked the pumpkin donut with the cold cider.

They're from Wisconsin, been supplying us down here with trees for some time now…read more Great customer service, nice guys, will cut & deliver. Prices are fair; even though there is a shortage this year of full-,size trees they are still charging the same as last year from what I can tell. Great service and perfect Fraser Christmas trees!…read more I wanted a full-bodied tree, all the way up to the top, and was assisted by the crew to find one. It took two minutes to select our tree, because each tree was just so full and perfect. I have had Costco, Menard's, and Home Depot trees in the past (in Chicago), and wanted to buy one from an independent vendor this year. On site, you can drive up through the alley (near private driveways) and wait to have the crew wrap and tie the tree to your car. It took the man less than 2 minutes to wrap and tie the 8' tree. Well, I don't think I (personally) have…read moreever purchased one until this past weekend...mostly because most 7 year olds don't literally buy Christmas trees. All that being said, we were on the hunt for a locally-ish sourced Christmas tree and lo and behold a small tree lot could be found just a few miles from our house. L & M tree farm had a small but solid selection of trees (from 5'-10' my best guess) - balsam, fraser fir, white pine, natural balsam, and a small selection of fresh wreaths. Pricing range from $40-$100 for most trees. The free smells were nice, but the service was on point too. Linda had plenty of tree knowledge to bestow on us and she was very patient with our two little girls who were constantly shuffling along in the fallen tree needles. After we selected our freshly cut and bagged tree, the gentleman (Dennis?) secured our new purchase to our roof and we were on our merry way. *Pro tip: They only take cash or checks.

I had one of the worst customer service experiences at Steinhafels (Schaumburg/Norridge locations)…read more I purchased two chairs on a Sunday from Schaumburg store and scheduled delivery for the following Wednesday. On Monday, the very next day, I decided to cancel after finding a better option. I made multiple attempts to cancel beforehand -- I called the store, was redirected to customer service, spoke to Bill, who told me he was off today and was told I had to speak to my salesperson, who I couldn't reach as well. Since I couldn't get help over the phone, I drove to the Norridge store in person (closer to me). At that point, I was told it was "too late" because the chairs were already on a delivery truck -- nearly 48 hours before the scheduled delivery. I was also told I would be charged a $100 delivery fee for items I never received. Customer service representative named Nate (no last name given) was completely unhelpful and inflexible, repeating policy without any effort to resolve the situation or acknowledge the circumstances. Was very dismissive and didn't acknowledge the situation at all. After over an hour of frustration -- including calling my bank to initiate a dispute -- the manager in training (forgot his name) in the Norridge store was finally able to cancel the order without the fee. This proves the situation could have been handled properly from the start. After over an hour of frustration -- including calling my financing provider to initiate a dispute -- an assistant manager in the store was able to fully cancel the order without penalty. This review would have been one star, but I'm giving an extra star solely because of that effort, even though they still agreed with the policy itself. The lack of communication, rigid policies, and unwillingness to assist customers is unacceptable. I will not be shopping here again and would strongly caution others before making a purchase.
