Murphy's is a local bar down on Bristol Emilie Road, Levittown, PA. For a small dive bar it has some really good things going for it. Along with an interesting clientele who seem to all know each other, it possesses a beautiful classic wood shuffleboard along one wall, similarly well appointed bar runners whose friendly manner and fun loving personalities make them entertainers as much as mixologists, as they dance to the jukebox 'zak. Although the kitchen was slammed when I ordered a cheeseburger off their limited menu and I had a bit of a wait until it reached me, it was well worth the delay. Served by the cook himself taking a walk from the grill to clear his head, it was the best half pounder I've had for quite a while. It was a perfect medium finish as requested. With lettuce, fat tomato slice and thin fresh red onion ringlets, the juicy flavor/texture was a masticating joy. Quality brioche roll, too. Crisp fries showed the small details were not taken for granted. But for the fact that smoking is allowed, Murphy's was five star all the way. A terrific local bar! A great crowd with an amazing staff! On this night we had wings....and they were perfect! The chef on duty, Alfredo makes them nice and crisp with a perfect amount of sauce. I also had a great roast beef sandwich! Lots of great beers and canned drinks to choose from! An absolute must for a night out to kick back with some drinks! Highly recommend! read more

Ive been frequenting this bar off and on for the past year. This is the first time im very disapointed. I love the roast beef here. But i have come in every night this week and still out of roast beef. All week? Really! I order stuffed mushrooms from the menu, and was told thats discontinued. I order tacos and the prices have changed..ok this place needs to update their menus. Thankfully the cook last night saved the day! Probably the best local "hidden" bar in the area. Drink specials and prices are pretty average for the bars in the area with the food being probably the best thing there. Bartenders were very quick with the drink orders and knew some not so common drink recipes which really surprised me. Great crowd and definitely a sports bar with TV's all around playing just about any football, baseball, hockey, soccer, etc.. and many bar games from touchtunes tap game things to pool, darts and shuffle board. Since I moved away from center city, I've been looking for a home base bar that is neither filled to bursting with douchy white baseballs hats nor crammed with the over fifty crowd. What I want from a bar is a place where I can drink more than just the American standards, have a decent conversation, and not get hit on by old men. Murphy's provides all of these things with the added bonus of having pretty decent food too. You won't find anything fancy here, just a nice bar with a few pool tables, a few TV's and some video games, but that is really all I need to be happy. This is a true Levittown bar through and through. I've been here hundreds of times. Place is always full of interesting characters. Most would label it a dive bar I consider it to be a local bar. Bartenders and managers have always been cool. Prices for food and drinks are really reasonable. Food menu consists of standard bar fare well priced and prepared. read more

This place gets pretty ratchet at times, but it is always a fun time. They have awesome wings, two pool tables, and poker on Friday nights. Smoking inside, s some people like it some don't, drinks aren't that bad price though, and food was spuriously great for a dive. read more

What happens at Murphy's stays at Murphy's. I don't expect to ever go back. Normally this place is shoulder to shoulder. It's a major pickup bar for Levittown people between the ages of 21 to mid 30s. Can be dificult to get a beer here and the. Music is terrible if they have a DJ for the night. Great pool tables, large bar, very loud and not a good place to make conversations. read more

I've stopped here 1/2 a dozen times in the last 3 months hoping to run into an old friend and have lunch. Food decent, service, good for that sort of place but haven't found my friend. been gone a long time a lifetime in fact, so I asked about her up there, on facebook, in the paper and recieved one response, from there at Murphys, a friend huh, shoot I doubt it.The person who said that don't know me, where I'm from or where I "ve been. Always filled with an interesting and diverse crowd. It's the kind of bar you can walk into without anybody and have a good time. They have some video games, pool tables, darts, shuffle board, the place anytime after 11 is usually filled up. The food is 7.5-8/10. beer prices are the typical Levittown prices (It's all the same unless you go to Bensalem, Penndel, or The Bull Tavern in Croydon then it gets a bit cheaper.) , It's location is good just off of 5 Points a bit. Parking can be troublesome during a scheduled event. But the thing that makes this place stand out is what I said at the forefront. You don't need to have friends accompany you to have a good time. You can be perfectly fine and have just as much fun by yourself here. Although driving home can be dangerous; have a DD just in case. I never really seen any big fights happen here. I seen arguments, and half a dozen people bounced here in my lifetime. Levittowners (Falls, Middle, and Bristol) Croydon locals, Langhorne locals, Bensalem locals, they all find their way here.
