Robert Morris, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, The Articles of Confederation and the Constitution, left his name to this old river burg, and even had his home, Summerseat, nearby. It was his plan to have the capital of the new United States established right here in Morrisville, PA. He was off target by about 25 miles, as the ultimate vote landed our first national city in Philadelphia. Still, Morris was nothing, if not ambitious for his adopted home town (He was born in England, and arrived here as a teenager). How would he feel about having a tavern named after him? He would probably have enjoyed the notoriety of being associated with a dive bar with smoking privileges, but lacking a kitchen for a meal, and even taps for the beer they serve. Bottles and cans only, folks. Yet, he probably would have supped and indulged his muses elsewhere, as the joint has seen better days, and is now far from its prime. The crowd is friendly, if loud and in its cups. The suds are priced right, and the barkeeps a smiling, tolerate group. My aluminum Bud Light (Philly Philly) edition, was $3. Hard to beat that coinage for a long cold one. Still, I couldn't escape the sensation that old Robert M., for all his wealth and colonial political power, would have only visited this establishment when he didn't want to be seen by anyone who would recognize him. It is easy to understand why.

The crowd was diverse and also welcoming, which in 2025 you can never be too sure, so I appreciated not being the only person of color there. The best part was that the bartenders were incredibly attentive and were giving you a fresh drink as soon as they saw your drink getting empty. Overall I would highly recommend coming here on a weekend, and make sure to get a seat at the bar. Just don't come during the middle of the day. I sadly came the first time in the middle of the day and got the complete wrong impression.

I ordered a half dozen (great quantity that not many places serve). On sight they were mouthwatering and smelled awesome. Taste wise they were fresh, sauced well and delicious. The hot sauce was cut with just the right amount of butter and was lip smacking good. Beer list was limited to all macro beers so you're not going to find anything craft or exotic. Lots of TV's surround the bar, I had a good signal on my phone and the song box had good tunes playing. The crowd was extremely diverse and everyone was friendly. Bathroom was extremely small. I can't believe they fit a urinal, sink and toilet in there! Good times at the MT. May not look like much on the outside, but I felt welcomed. Thanks guys and Miguel for the wing recommendation!

Maybe it was the weather, but it was very cold in the restaurant. Maybe because it was the restored Trenton Iron works factory the place seemed somewhat cold and dark.

Unfortunately, our entire experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. When we entered, we were told that only a limited menu was available because of an "event going on." However, the event had already ended. The limited menu consisted only of pizza and very basic appetizers like mozzarella sticks, calamari, fried shrimp, and chicken wings--there were no actual entrées or meal options available. We arrived at 4:40 PM and, after reviewing the menu, were extremely disappointed. Having driven two hours to dine here, we asked both our waitress and the hostess if any additional meal options would become available. One staff member told us the full menu wouldn't return until 8 PM. Reluctantly, we ordered a couple of appetizers, which unfortunately arrived cold. What made the situation even more frustrating was seeing two tables that were seated around 4:58 PM--almost twenty minutes after us--receive the full menu and order actual meals. We then questioned the inconsistency and unfair treatment. If we were told the full menu would not be available until 8 PM, why were guests seated after us given it? Eventually, a manager came over and was apologetic, which we appreciated. Still, we left feeling disappointed that we never got to experience the food we had originally come for. While the location itself is beautiful--bright and right on the water--the restaurant unfortunately does not seem well maintained. There were noticeable dust and cobwebs around the space, and many surfaces felt sticky. Overall, it did not feel like a particularly clean establishment. After driving two hours with high expectations, this was truly a disappointing experience.
