we went there because my dog was walking in circle , throwing up and walking very slow like he was in pain. They taken him to another room and a few minute later came back. We never saw them taking vitals and evaluating him. and they said he was walking fine. I told them of what happened and she said they have seen neglected dog like my dog and recommended grooming , They have grooming in their clinic. i felt they are shaming me, i know i am not perfect dog owner but isn't coming to this vet that my dog is not neglected. Emotions aside, this vet clinic didn't perform the necessary checkup needed and if they did with few minutes that they took my dog in another room , they never told us anything. we have taken my dog to another clinic and he was diagnosed with enlarge heart. So just go to another vet clinic and not here. read more

Dr. FORD got caught double charging me on two seperate breedings for services he did not provide! I had to confront him the second time he tried doing this to me.. My experience was horrible, Ford missed 2 breedings in a role for us and we are guessing he wasn't happy with the quoted price so they started adding things to my invoice that they never provided.. for example they charged us for two progesterone tests on the same day multiple times on multiple different breedings.. They attempted to steal from us until we caught them.. I will NEVER go back here again and I'd advise EVERYONE to find an honest vet.. read more

Our favorite doctor left the Murphy location and was not replaced. It seems like things have gone downhill over the years and we've decided to make a change. If you select this vet, my advice would be to also select an after-hours urgent vet because if you need an urgent appointment at 4pm, you'll be referred to an urgent care vet. They can give you a list (if you ask). I don't have a problem with being referred if I had been made aware up front. I didn't have a plan in place and in my haste to get urgent care I ended up at an overly expensive vet hospital. Now I will always ask at any vet I use what to expect. Second, double check what you pay for prescriptions on Chewy. I found I was paying 3x the list price for Rx eye drops. For.many.years. I understand mark up, but this was a $16 eye drop being sold to me for $45. I emailed the office to make them aware - no acknowledgement. I have regularly waited on hold, and one of the last times was 18 minutes on hold. The receptionist does patient intake, answers the phone, schedules vet appointments and grooms, and accepts payments. It's a tough job. Well, actually it's a circus. Some of them do it with grace and patience and others ... not so much. As far as care, Dr. Ford would be the better of the two vets. However, there will not be discharge papers or notes - be sure you take your own. There is a lot of room for misunderstanding and miscommunication. If I ever called to get clarification, the staff were helpful. Recently they instituted a policy to charge a deposit when you schedule anything due to all the no-shows and untimely cancellations. It felt penalizing as a patient who has never no-showed or canceled too late but to now have to spend more time waiting on the phone to schedule and to pay a deposit. Madness! Perhaps their patients don't want to wait 18 minutes on hold to cancel or reschedule and that's why they don't bother calling. I started emailing. They were responsive. However, the new scheduling deposit just adds to the circus at the front desk, so I've decided it's time to find a new provider. I'd call to explain this to them, but I don't want to hold 18 minutes. I visited this hospital this morning with my dog Nemo for a sick pet visit. The staff were really nice and ensured I knew what procedures were involved and how my dog was doing. He needed some meds for an ear infection, and the vet tech asked if I wanted her to show me how to give them. I was great full for that. Everyone working in this office is so nice and helpful. They were really good with my dog, which means a lot. He is a good boy. Recommend them whole-heartedly. read more

How deeply disappointed my family is. When I brought my cat or dog in with a concern, he (always) said I was over reacting. 2 years ago I found a lump on one of my pets. The doctor said, again, I was over reacting. 1& 1/2 years went by because I took his educated advice. He did finally remove the lump, which did turn out to be cancer. He advised after the surgery, that he got it all & no further treatment was needed. He assured me of this. Last Friday (6 months later), she died in my arms. read more

Front desk lady is incredibly rude. She hung up on me and then was rude when I called back again. My fur baby was in need of an emergency visit and she showed no concern or empathy. If you really want the truth about this place then read all the 1 star negative reviews. Been coming to this place a few years now for our 3 babies. This place is all about the Benjamins and nothing about the health or cares of your pets. So went in last year for one of our pet with a lump on his chest. The "Vet/Dr" said it was a lipoma and also said he had skin and ear allergies. He sent us home and told us to just keep an eye on it and administer benedryl for the allergy and ear drops. A year later today, the lump got a bit bigger and there's a 2nd smaller lump. Had an appointment to get the lumps checked. Got a quote on the phone of $58 for exam and between $30-$40 for fine needle aspirate of the lump. I was initially fine with that I guess. So went in and told the tech about the lumps and that he still have allergy. They took him to the back and did their thing. Once that was done the Vet came in to give the outcome of the aspiration (just lipoma like before) and also same crap with the skin and ears. Except this time the bills was whopping $200+++??? So they ended up charging $40+ for the skin and $42+ for ear checkup as well (same results as last year but bigger bills to pay). Wish they would be more upfront and transparent about what they are going to charge you for. My advise to everyone "Don't be embarrassed to ask about their charges before they start the checkup". read more

We've been taking our Bernadoodle here for over a year now and so far, I'd highly recommend this place to anyone. The staff has always been very friendly and the veterinarians have been attentive and extremely knowledgeable when working with us. The fact that they are also partnered with the Sachse Veterinary Clinic has come in helpful on several occasions in getting a quicker appointment. I am so relieved that I've found a very courteous and professional Veterinary clinic for my dogs because this place is not it. Your office had already been fired, by the way. The veterinarians aren't very friendly with my dogs. Don't cuddle or speak with them. They act stuck up and staff don't present themselves appropriately either. I have shared my entire life, all 75 years of it, with animals but I have never encountered a vet that thought more of making money than caring for the animals in their charge. We have had to wait days and sometimes weeks to get an appointment only to be grossly over charged for minimum care. I am done! Any vet would be more responsive and have more concern, when a dog is in pain and suffering, than these people. I think it is just sad that they just don't care. read more

Called this morning and got an appointment for my dwarf pit, since her leg was bothering her. The staff was welcoming, attentive, funny, thorough and understanding when my Bella pooped on the floor. Lol. She has high anxiety but felt comfortable very quickly. Coming back in two weeks for a follow up and to bring my other dog. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a vet they can trust. read more

Great staff ! Excellent care !! I have a rescued Pit bull and he came to be abandoned and abused. The doctors and staff here took phenomenal care nursing him back to health. Cowboy had a very extensive leg surgery and was possibly never going to walk again. 4 weeks after his procedure he was slowly but surely starting to walk again. A year later he is running and jumping around like nothing was every wrong. They really took there time and were very compassionate. This clinic really puts there heart and soul into all the work that they do. read more

I took my puppy here for her shots a few months ago and spent 150$ for shots and fecal check. They also cut her nails for 10$. Now the place is remodeled from the 70's to the 21st century. Today for nail clipping it was now 12$ (which was 2$ more than a few months ago and more than Petco) but I went with it, got the proof of her rabies vaccine and they took her. About 3 min later a man came and asked for the receptionist to go back there. Amanda (receptionist) says well Bella doesn't like getting her nails trimmed and is nipping at them and peed so it will be 22$. I was furious!! I said does any dog like oit?? I said to her that's price gauging I didn't agree to that so you should of told me it starts at 12$ and can go up to $$$ (whatever they feel like). I told Amanda I won't be coming back for grooming or check ups This is the 5th dog I've raised and this has never happened before. Do not recommend!! read more

As I sat in the Starbucks line this morning at approximately 0837. I watched as a vet tech drug a small white yorkie (maybe 8-12lbs) out of the back of the building by a leash. She only stopped after about 10ft and the decided to pick her up when she noticed others watching. I proceeded to call the vet this afternoon and they couldn't care less and even tried to justify this behavior. I would be highly upset if this dog were mine and the place I took them for medical needs treated my pet in this manner. read more

I have taken my pit bull to Murphy Road at least twice & feel I was overcharged each time!! In January 2016 I took her to get her rabies booster & ended up paying $350 total. They called 4 days later to say my dog had heart worms. We requested an estimate. The estimate was approx. $1,135 for the heart worm treatment. They also decided to throw in an estimate for over $1,300 for teeth extractions -- Nearly every tooth in her mouth, incisions, molars...etc. We took our dog to her regular vet & they performed two (2) blood tests more advanced than Murphy Road did (my vet had Murphy Road send over the records for our dog). Our vet found NO HEART WORMS after performing two tests for heart worms. Murphy Road never told us anything about teeth extractions when she came in for shots. More than two years ago, my dog was misdiagnosed and this veterinarian didn't explain the reason why my dog was sick. However, in actuality, my dog had a stroke. He couldn't even explain this to me and prescribed my dog over $60 worth of medication. Medications he didn't even need. Within 9 hours of prescribing the medication, he had a stroke that caused him to breathe slowly and heavily until he passed away. That poor dog suffered so much; he gave me false hope in saving this dog at that time. I had informed them that he passed away when they called in to check up on him. Last week, I received a postcard to get this same dog vaccinated with Rabies shot because it was close to the expiration date. Maybe a disgruntled employee decided to play a prank, but it was not funny! That person even misspelled or changed my name to "Loin." Very unprofessional. That Veterinarian should have his license revoked. Obviously, he didn't know what he was doing. As you can see, I'm quite bittered about the situation. Yet, the fact and truth remain. read more

Things may have changed, but about 4 years ago my German Shepard was under going treatment for a sore that would not heal. He was prescribed steroids. A couple of days into the treatment my dog began to act very strange and would not come inside. I tried to make an appointment but was told they couldn't see me. They told me over the phone that the issues my dog was having were caused by the steroids he was taking and assured me that everything was normal. 36 hours later, when my inside dog would not come in from the snow and had been this way for almost two days we took him to the emergency clinic. He had bloat and his stomach had flipped. They could not operate to try and fix the problem as blood flow had been compromised to major organs for far to long. Long story short, my healthy dog had to be put down because the staff were too busy to see my dog when he had an issue and they further complicated matters by trying to diagnose him over the phone. I would never take another animal to this "hospital" and would certainly not recommend them to anyone. read more
