Such a fun staff!! This place is super popular for the locals and have made us feel like honorary locals having spent the summer in St Clair. Their kareoke nights are great and I adore the girl who runs it, she's totally down for a duet :) My Dad had stayed at their Inn while visiting us and had said he was comfortable and the morning coffee was super. The rooms are also really adorable. read more

This was the cleanest restaurant in the area. The oldest bar in the area has great food, but the only thing wrong with my food was my wings actually had no buffalo sauce. Nonetheless, I love the food here. My party of four had great food for lunch. Would come back to the place, but make the food the way it's supposed to be. read more

Murphy Inn - Wings and fries. - Hotels Near Me - Saint Clair, Michigan

I do not recommend Murphy Inn's pizza, but its Fish & Chips are fantastic! I've ordered this to-go several times during the pandemic, and have not been disappointed! The fish is always cooked perfectly, and the portion is generous. Plus, the staff is awesome. read more

This place is known for their pizza. I've had it before & it's been fantastic! I was here last Saturday, fantastic was WAY too generous to describe our pizza experience. We ordered a specialty pizza, Four Cheese & a large double cheese w/ 5 meats as well as a medium cheesy bread (it's not on the menu but I highly recommend ordering it because it's yummy). It's 8pm, Saturday nite, our pizzas come to our table, I serve the guys each a slice off their 5 meat pizza & my friend gets herself a slice off our four cheese pizza. All the slices were RAW from the middle end part through midway up each slice. Call our server over, tell her the problem, she proceeds to tell us they have a "newbie" making pizzas which explains why they sliced our four cheese pizza like they slice cheese bread, which wasn't a big deal because it still tasted the same. I just had to point this out to emphasize the "newbie" in the kitchen. She took our pizzas back to "re-cook" them. When she brought them back, sure, they were cooked as well as BURNT. Now, the manager comes over, we all tell him & it's not like he couldn't see for himself, they're all burned. He asked if we'd like a new order of pizzas or some money deducted off our bill. Being it was now close to 8:30, waiting another 30 minutes for dinner wasn't acceptable, so we opted for a bill reduction. We get our bill, which was originally $115.....it's still $115 because our server informs us her manager NEVER told her to take money off for the debacle. She recalculated our bill, brings it back & it's now $108. REALLY?? A $7 comp for a $24 burned pizza & a $27 burned pizza? Not even comp a round of our cocktails? My point being, we all thought $7 was basically a middle finger to us, insinuating we're looking for a free meal, which we weren't. At least comp ONE of the pizzas or a round of drinks. I gave this a two star rating because the cheese bread was delish as were our cocktails. A bit of advice, don't put a newbie in your kitchen on one of your busiest nights or if you do, make sure someone's shadowing them to ensure food goes out prepped correctly & fully cooked. Murphy's Inn just lost 4 good customers because of poor management skills. read more

Good food. Good atmosphere. We enjoy eating in or ordering to go pizza. The Murphy's original is pretty good. The wings are ok. More like eating a spoon full of sauce with little chicken. Overall good food with friendly service. An Irish pup feel that makes you feel welcome. Clean too. read more

We've always supported Murphy's, but definitely will after tonight. Saw online that they closed at 9 but knowing a lot of places aren't updated I decided to call anyway. It was 9:24 pm. The man answered the phone and said they closed at 9 but asked what I needed. I told him pizza, he said well the pizza oven is still on I'd be happy to make you pizza . He didn't have to do that, but in times like today I'm glad he did! We will definitely always be supporting their business! Thank you again if you see this! read more

Came back for the first time in 10 years. Tried the all you can eat chicken on a Sunday. The chicken was tasty served with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. They must get dwarf chickens because I have never seen smaller pieces ever! The refills are slow to come then they bring you 1 piece of a dwarf chicken leg. I believe the wait is to teach you a lesson not to reorder. The waitress was very nice and accommodating . The kitchen staff must have instructions to avoid waste and minimize portions. Took us 2 hours to eat with waits of 10-15 minutes for any refills. Will try someplace else next time in town. read more

Food ain't bad. Overall quality has improved since Murphy's changed ownership last year. Good selection of bottled beer, including some imports you don't always see in a small town bar. Early evenings are mostly diners in the bar side and the small dining room, while later on the party usually gets going around 9:00 most evenings. Karaoke on Wednesdays and Saturdays, live music on most Fridays. Service is very good here, especially considering the waitstaff does their own bartending. Even on crowded nights, there's seldom a wait for a refill. The Murphy Inn is a historic roadhouse-style building in downtown St. Clair. They also have rooms available in you're visiting town, nice place to stay when the offshore races or other events are in town. Family-friendly until about 9:00 p.m., then parents should take care when the bar side gets busy. Not dangerous by any stretch of the imagination, just adults getting a little loud and sometimes rowdy. read more

Restaurant only review. The place was friendly, and nice atmosphere, but the food was nothing special. Chips & salsa could have come out of a bag, perch was overcooked with more breaking than fish. Chicken noodle soup seemed like it came from a can. As far as being a pub to hang out, have a couple beers, seems fine. As a dinner spot, not so much. Other reviewers seem to really like it though, so maybe this was just an off night. read more

I think the food gets better n better each time I go.,Great service ,always freindly .Love the lower lighting atmosphere and they're chocolate martini! Also live entertainment was really good, casual ,not to loud.We had a great time! read more

The owners are one of a kind, amazing family. The food is sometimes not consistent but it's always really good. Pizza Mondays are always a hit and so worth it. Wings on tuesday are very cheap. Plus they have a GREAT sushi menu on Wednesdays. They have specials everyday and thats always great. Love the staff. read more

Warning....this establishment doesnt have staff whatsoever after midnight to 7am n which there is no help, security or emergency numbers to call someone in case of one. Case in point.....my wife n i stayed there July 24th for our Anniversary wknd n 2am had a toilet plug up....no plunger....no contact for help....nobody on premises n placed locked up with only patrons in the rooms venerable to possible pipe breakage ..fire or break in........that leaves patrons to fend for themselves. Finally fixed the problem myself after almost leaving or calling authorities to contact a Mgr or Owners.......didnt really gt bk to sleep n upon leaving earlier then check out...then two kitchen staff were only people there n blamed us for the problem...said we had an attitude...no kiddn..we were upset n the said perhaps u should stay at a Holiday Inn instead....or call 911 last night....what a thing t say to patrons......needless to say we will never go there again n let people know how they operate. Mgr later did apologize n comp half the stay....but still not accept able business practice..... read more

Our favorite go to place in Saint Clair. Staff is always kind and friendly. Menu is extensive but not overwhelming. Daily Specials amazing. Keep up the great job. I always treat our company to a visit to Murphy's. read more

I've wondered in here on several occasions for drinks only. It's average patron age is close to 36. I've never waited very long for drinks and have been here for those busy karaoke nights. My friend lives in Casco Township. and this is on our regular bar crawl, in my opinion you should make it part of yours too. This place is fun given your options in the area. I would think that an ideal night would be to sit at the bar or a high top, grab a bite to eat, and stay for some karaoke. I personally do not sing, but I people watch like the best of them. read more

We were told we had to try the pizza. Now my hubby loves it and calls ahead to order a carry out pizza if we are passing through the area. The quality is delicious and the size is generous. Friendly staff, great flavor. read more

We stopped here for lunch and got the pizza and a patty melt. It was pretty good. I asked a friend who lives in the area and she said people go here for the pizza. All the food was tasty. Its your standard sports bar but the history behind it is pretty cool. The booth we were sitting at had really old pictures on the wall of the building in its original state - a farm house. Pretty neat. I'm not in that area but once a year so not sure how soon I'll go back but at least I know where to go now!! read more

Oh my, so tasty! I had a personal pizza with black olives/mushrooms and saved my last slice for lunch the next day. Delicious! A few others of my party seem to be picky eaters, and I heard ZERO complaints. St. Clair is a pretty cool town and I'd definitely make another stop here if I was in the area! P.S. Apparently it's a hotel, too? read more

HOLY NACHOS BATMAN ...Murphy's inn's beef/chicken nachos are sooo BIG that I had to get a carry out container to take the rest home and that was the appetizer size. They were tasty, though! The build your own opinion is awesome because I like specific things on my nachos, and they accommodated me. My husband got the turkey club that came with slow roasted turkey. He said it was very good, and filling. The only complaint that I have is that they couldn't get the Tigers play-off game on because of their cable provider read more

It wasn't busy on a Saturday afternoon and we had a friendly server, Logan. My mom and I had the Saturday Special of Shrimp and potatoes (no butter, just a light sprinkling of parm) with a side of coleslaw. It was good. Mom wanted butter and Logan had no problem getting that for her, and gave me some also, even though I didn't ask. Nice gesture. My husband had the Turkey burger. He thought that the onions on the burger would be caramelized IN the balsamic reduction but he said that it looked like they caramelized the onions, place them on the burger and then added a balsamic reduction. It may sound picky. I guess we are. He loved the homemade chips, I found them to be a bit greasy but he said," That's how you know they are HOME MADE!" Over all the meal was good. My mom loves this place so we take her there often when we visit. Maybe next time we'll try the pizza everyone is talking about. read more

Awesome food and service. Absolutely one of our favorite places to go close to home. Good people good environment

Well, I 9rdered a Manhattan against my good judgment (as the band was singing "oh Danny Boy" maybe an Irish Coffee was a better choice) but it's pretty darn delicious so KEEP EM COMING! read more

First time visitor to Murphy Inn restaurant. Waitress was very attentive and anticipated needs. We didn't have to ask for anything -- drink refills, napkins, etc. Food was very good, lots of choices. Ribs were very tender with lots of meat on the bone. Burgers were big and juicy with a variety of different toppings. Dining room was very clean and tables were far enough apart that we weren't stumbling on other diners. The bar is in a separate room so we could carry on a conversation without hearing bar chatter and noise. We will definitely go there again. read more

Went here when son was in silver sticks tourney...way hung over...so my opinion prabaly doesn't count for much....

The pizza was very good but the food service was very slow. Im not sure what took the kitchen so long to get our group of four orders out to us, whatever it was it took way to long. Outside of that everything was fine. Good food at a good price. read more

Excellent antipasto salad. Excellent MI salad. Great service. Yummy homemade hot chips.

Went here over the summer as well as their sister company Dorsey house always a pleasant experience never had a complaint good people

The pizza is delicious and big. Monday is half off large pizzas! And happy hour specials from 2 -6, 25 cent wings, and 99 cent nachos and slisers. read more

Absolutely the worst service I've ever had. Grabbed our own menus and waited 35 minutes just to have our order taken. If this place has 5 stars, you must have the patience of a saint. Food hasn't arrived yet, so I can't speak on that, but in case someone was looking to come here in the next hour, do yourself a favor and maybe go to Burger King instead. read more

They used to have a devine seafood gumbo but since new owners have changed the recipe I will never order it again. Still a nice place for a burger and beer. read more

Awesome Pizza!! Everything here tastes on point especially the ribs................ Staff is always on the ball and prices are reasonable

First time ever buying pizza from this place and it will be my last. Spent good money on a pie and got home and it's not even cooked! Tastes like dough and was very mushy! Peeled back the cheese and uncooked dough underneath every slice. Our Dinner was ruined will not be coming back here again unless the management makes it right and offers us a refund or gift card. read more

I paid $5 for soup that was 5 bites-the package of crackers was larger than the soup. I would post a picture but this isn't giving me an option. I work close to there and most of the people I work with were appalled. They are off our list for future ordering! read more

First time here. Great food. Good drinks. Good service. No complaints. Tigers won. Wings are up right now. I'm looking this place

Came here on pizza night a few weeks ago... Dad lives right down the road and him and my step mom frequent, but it was my first time here! Loved it. We had the antipasto salad to start, which had just the right amount of toppings and the dressing was tasty. We also got some grilled wings which had some sort of yummy seasoning on them that I didn't recognize, and I really enjoyed those too. Which is saying something- because I'm not really a wings person. We all shared a pizza, which was HUGE- but so, so good. The crust was great, I really loved it. I'd love to see what else this place has to offer read more

I've been here a few times before. I went for dinner with a friend on a friday night. The sandwiches and pizza are delicious but our waitress was terrible-she has zero for pep and attitude and gave us the impression that she didn't want to be there. i've worked in the restaurant industry as wait staff and you NEVER WANT TO GIVE SUBPAR SERVICE. Murphys needs to rethink this service disaster if they want me to come back. Good news-the band, the Revivors, that played that night was engaging and amazing. read more
