The menu consists of the typical breakfast items, sandwiches and burgers, chicken, steak, some seafood choices, and pizza. I would've liked to have seen a few more "pasta" choices on the menu (they do offer a spaghetti dinner, but that was about it for the pasta). The one "chicken" dinner offered (other than the fried chicken) was a "Smothered" chicken... a couple of chicken breasts covered with onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese. Do you really want to call one of your dinner entrees "Smothered"? That just seems like a weird word to use. Kind of sounds like they killed the poor chicken by smothering it with a soft pillow (poor little guy got taken out by a mob hit). Actually, the food was decent (if not particularly special). I'd go back... especially if I had another "Restaurant.Com" certificate. If you're not familiar with Restaurant.Com, you should check it out sometime. When you go to their website, you can search for various participating restaurants by typing in your zipcode (or any area zipcode that you want). Then, when you've found a restaurant that you might like to try, you purchase a certificate (10, 25, 50 or 100 buck certificate), for a discounted price. The "normal" price on the website is a 25 dollar certificate for 10 bucks... BUT, if you sign up to get their e-mails, they'll send you offers for 80% off THAT PRICE, so you can usually get 25 dollar certificates for only TWO BUCKS!! Now, that's worth looking into, isn't it? Just remember to read all the "fine print" before buying... you can only use one certificate at a time, and you also have to spend a certain amount of money (depending on the restaurant) as well. The "Golden Hawk" seemed like a nice-enough place to go. They even had a very nice room upstairs that looked like it was specifically designed for Wedding Receptions. If only this place had a miniature golf course and a game-room... it could be a "family" entertainment center/golf complex all-in-one (I know... I'm just dreaming here). Just a thought...

I have not used these vouchers and we quickly determined that the course redeemed the vouchers for a prior tee time that I properly cancelled in advance of my scheduled tee time due to weather. Everyone is welcome to review the weather forecast for August 24th, 2026 and you see why I cancelled my tee time. Can I prove I properly cancelled my tee time? Nope, it was all done over the phone. The man behind the counter acknowledged the issue and said there was "nothing he could do" and to reach out to the retailer who sold the voucher. I made the point to say they will only call the course and the course will say it was already redeemed. I suggested the course allow me to play for free since o already paid for golf and had a tee time that was going to go unused. This is something they "could do" but it was clear the pro shop attendant was not looking for a resolution. Honestly he was an a**hole and it was probably one of the worst business/customer interactions of my 45 year old life. This interaction will make me think twice when I hear about the closing of another local golf course or business. I don't know what authority this individual had but this was at 11:50 AM on September 18th and he sent a clear message that customer service is the lowest priority for this place of business. I can only hope he was the owner because his demeanor and words assured I will never return to this course, and I have been a customer since it was Four Lakes Golf Course. I honestly hope this course goes out of business because it is what they deserve. I am that frustrated with the way I was treated. This review won't mean much for most of you - Golfers care about course conditions and pace of play, not how rude the pro shop attendant is. However, for those looking to book a wedding or a stay, I would think twice. Customer service is top priority when it comes to those things and I would look elsewhere. I was frauded out of only $35 but I would never give this venue thousands knowing they handle disputes in this manner. You have an issue, be forewarned the response will be "there is nothing we can do" with no associated facial expression.

He also has a form filled with questions so your receiption is on track and smooth. The day of my Wedding it rained and we had to call all the vendors & people to switch everything to the hall we rented for the receitopn. He was so accomdating and pleasant to work with. At the receitpion he was awesome. He was a great announcer when there was a toast, the Bride and Groom dance, the Daddy/Daughter dance. He played all the right songs we requested and my guest danced the night away. At the end of the night the last song he asked the Bride and Groom to come to the dance floor. He then asked all the guest to make a big circle around us. He played the song, "I had the time of my life". He kept having the circle of guest, come toward the middle of the dance floor and give us a group hug. I loved it!!!! We also had a photo booth and props. The guest got a copy and then the second copy was put in a book and given to my husband and I. Nothing but class from this company!!! You had to get there early to get on the top deck but we were grateful to be on the bottom deck. I didn't care because as soon as we could roam around I went out on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful gentle wind and sunshine. The boat doesn't go too fast but it also isn't a slow boat either. The Captain tells you all kinds of interesting facts about Canada and the USA as you cruise 45 minutes south on the St. Clair River, then 45 minutes North where they take you briefly into Lake Port Huron...boy do you know the difference, once you hit that mammoth lake! The ride was smooth and very enjoyable. The seats were comfortable and there is plenty of space to roam around, even in a fully loaded boat such as was our experience. The boat was very clean. I used the restroom and it too was spacious enough and very clean. The crew was pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. I took this cruise several years back and it was called the Huron Lady, it was a different boat and it was docked closer to town. So, if you have taken this cruise before and it has been 6 or so years since you took it be aware that the location has changed.

She was fun and accommodating and was smiling the whole time, even though it was a bit chilly. The first time we saw Dan Dan the Choo-Choo Man was at a friend's birthday party a couple years ago, and they've continued with the great service and experience. Kids and adults can ride in the covered train cars, and even passers-by can't help by smile when they see you go by. I'd highly recommend booking Dan Dan the Choo-Choo Man for your next party or event. I'm not sure exactly how far they go from their offices in Emmett, but we're in Lake Orion and they had no issue coming out and arriving in plenty of time for our fun entertainment.

So it's going to be tough to top it next year and seriously was a great change of pace (and bigger hit) the usual bounce house or costumed character we usually do. Our conductor (Sheryl I believe her name was) was GREAT! Great with kids (even the naughty ones) and fun with adults! You can tell she enjoys her job and has a lot of fun with it. My son is so anti-social about "new people" sometimes and even he thought she was so much fun. She seemed to have made herself familiar with our neighborhood and was able to take our train to a lot of cool places (parks, schools, businesses) which was exciting instead of just around the block 50 times (which the kids probably still would have liked, lol). I HIGHLY recommend something like this for children's birthday parties. I think a lot of people don't realize the price is very reasonable (175 for an hour... and an hour is a nice amount of time). The younger kids LOVE it and the older kids get a kick out of going on "parade". Also, I was told the train can run in light rain so even though we had a sunny day I was glad to know that a little drizzle would not ruin our fun (it initially was going to rain last weekend here). Two things to be aware of: when they dropped off the items they told my mom where they recommended the dance floor and then put it on a steep hill so it was undanceable, my uncle had to come over to put plywood underneath so no one would fall. We called PPR and they were unable to do anything. The second thing is they offer "100 person" packages where ten people are supposed to sit at a tiny table- the chair sides hit each other when they are placed at the table. You have to order extra tables. I sent them an email a week ago thanking them for the excellent customer service and voicing my concerns- no one has responded. Very disappointed. My wedding was still great though- just be careful about these two things
