But unfortunately I do have a lot of cons so bear with me. When we arrived the bed looked as though it had been slept in. There were stains on the carpet, hand smudges on the glass , stains on the sofa, mold in the shower, cracks in the ceiling, and warped wallpaper in multiple spaces. I say this as someone who can often over look things however, when I pulled out the sofa bed to sleep there was just a mattress protector and a large yellow stain. I check the closet to find one pillow with no cover on it. We went down stairs and the manager was shocked. She provided us with ample supplies like linens, and a blanket. I have to say for the price payed the condition we're pretty bad. I'm assuming you may for the location as it's 6 minutes from down town but this rooms need a upgrade. And a deep carpet and upholstery cleaning.

One bad apple can ruin things just like that. Hit down to breakfast at 930 and 2 out of 4 hot items were empty. I asked the young lady if she was making more. No, not really was her response. I politely said it's 9:30 and you are open to 10. If " I really need to I will". I responded I guess my husband and I don't need to eat. As she huffed. So I grabbed small portion of eggs and cooked a bagel as my husband had nothing. Apparently she decided to cook more, but not until we were getting up! Shame, Shame!!

Their pizza is yummy, and the vineyard vibe is charming. There are animals to pet, wide open views, and it's right on their property but designed in a way that still feels like a public space. I wanted to keep loving this place. I really did. But the energy has completely shifted. I've been here multiple times now, and every single experience with the owners has left me feeling tense and unwelcome. The final straw came after a couple of situations that made it clear this place is no longer what it used to be. One time, my son climbed onto a tractor that was left completely open. No signs. No fencing. And the keys were literally in the ignition. I was already walking over to get him down when the owner came out and screamed at me. No grace, no calm explanation, just full-volume yelling in front of everyone. I was mortified. It shook me up for the rest of the day. Another time, we were just a few minutes early and waiting by the entrance, not bothering anyone, just sitting in the car. Again, she came out yelling, like we had broken some rule by showing up early. And then, the husband. I watched him get belligerent with another guest. He was mocking him loudly and making a scene in front of other people. It was really uncomfortable to witness. No matter what the situation was, that is not how you treat paying customers. I don't know what happened here. Maybe as the place got more popular, the stress got to them. But somewhere along the way, they seem to have lost the heart for hospitality. I never write reviews like this, but I'm sharing it because this place has so much potential. It used to feel like a happy little secret. Now it just feels heavy. To the owners, I truly hope you hear this for what it is. You've built something beautiful. People want to come here and enjoy what you've created. But you cannot treat guests like this and expect them to keep coming back. I hope one day the warmth returns. I really do. But until that happens, I won't be back.

I get it, same longitude and wines should grow similar and all that jazz, but Michigan wines outside of the sweeter styles really never taste right to me. Well whatever they are doing here is nothing short of scientifically brilliant. Probably some of the best MItten Vino I have ever had and that assessement is from traveling all around the state and trying different areas. The Frontenac, Petite Pearl, Marquette were my favorites by far. But my five stars isn't for the wine, it's for the sheer joy this place brings me. Absolutely beautiful campus with sheep and goats and a big white furball of a dog who looks so adorable but is trained to kill any possible threat to his wards. The large barn event space and indoor seating is nothing short of gorgeous and of course sitting outside is just pure joy. I will add more pics as I come across them.

There is a restaurant downstairs that does a dinner service and another area for VIP's. We decided to do a few tastings. Bill took great care of us, providing us with the history and other fun facts about Canadian wine and Dark Horse Estate. You could pick and choose what you wanted to add to your tasting. They were out of the sparkling wine, which I was really excited to try, so I ended up sampling a few roses and chose a glass of that instead. They have a nice outdoor patio with a huge fireplace and brick oven for pizzas! We didn't stay to try the food, but I would definitely come back for that. We bought a few bottles and enjoyed them over the weekend. A good experience, I recommend checking this place out if you have time.

Tried the sparkling, the unoaked Chardonnay, the rose and the driest red. All were very drinkable but the sparkling was the most delicious. Highly recommend!!
