My beloved Mother passed away on March 19, 2019 and when I called this business the following day, I was unsure I would be able to book quickly a Memorial Luncheon for family and friends after my Mother's church funeral. In the many years past, my parents were always pleased and happy with this hall for their church club functions at St. Angela Catholic Church. My Mother's sister Dorothy had a wonderful surprise 90th birthday party here a few years ago too and we all enjoyed ourselves for a Sunday dinner, therefore I did make the right choice. When I called on the morning of Wednesday, March 20th I was very happy and fortunate to talk personally with Benny to book a 11:30 a.m buffet luncheon for 75 guests in the "Lentine Room" also where my Aunt had her previous party 3 years ago. Later in the afternoon him and I along with my sister, sat down to decide on the menu choices. Benny was kind, sympathetic and very understanding of my loss. He was helpful too since I was already stressed out with other funeral details. The Buffet Style Luncheon Menu has many entree choices to select and was overwhelming to me. Benny had suggested the Chicken Marsala with salad bar, whipped red garlic potatoes, green beans and a meat and pasta selection. The two of us agreed and knew our choice was going to be delicious the way my Mom would of loved. Since our immediate family plus my Mother's side of her family is 100% Polish, he was kind enough to include the Polish Smoked Sausage and Sauerkraut for the meal. The luncheon meal also included tossed salad, rolls & butter, Vanilla Ice Cream Sundae as dessert with coffee, tea, milk, pop. The hall room set-ups were welcoming with white linen tablecloths, napkins and silverware. The Luncheon Buffet was set up in the center of the room which made it accommodating when serving the guest tables of 10. Our hall servers were Dee and Anthony who were pleasant and efficient at all tables throughout our 3 hour dining time. When I asked for a microphone for a guest to say a Blessing Prayer before eating, Anthony was quick to bring it to me. They both did a great job and also checked with me a few times about the food and beverages before I paid the final bill. The four of us children were given the leftover food already packaged up individually and labeled which I thought was great organization and worthwhile since I ordered an extra 10 plates @ $14.95 per person. (Yes, I tipped them both on the side as my Mom did in 2015 when we were here for my Dad's funeral luncheon.) The restrooms were clean and available in the lobby in between the two halls. Also handicap accessible. The hall temperature inside being the month of March was warm and comfortable for all my family and friends who attended the luncheon. I would highly recommend this Catering & Banquet Hall which is located on Gratiot Avenue and is 3 blocks south of 10 Mile Road in Eastpointe. The womens is accessible in the front foyer, like all places, but the mens restroom door is right next to the bar. Egh, that took a star off for me. And the poor servers, to access the bar, they have to shimmy under the bar at an access point, no direct door to the bar, so people kept having to move out of the way when someone at the bar needed something from the kitchen. We had a meeting and he stated a contract was signed basically after midnight.! Also did not offer any other dates after giving away both dates we originally talked about.! It was stated the hall rented out their own hall for both dates after stating the hall was open and available.
