Let me start by saying I was very hesitant to stay here given the property's current rating. Our…read morestay was totally outstanding. First, St. Clair Inn joined Marriott as part of their Tribute Portfolio brand approximately a year ago. I was greeted and recognized as a Titanium guest. My room request was honored (river/balcony king) and although my room wasn't ready as we arrived pretty early, they promised to call the minute it was. We got that all about an hour later well in advance of their posted 4:00pm check in time. Our room was in the new wing and was very nicely appointed. Bed was super comfortable and housekeeping did a great job as our room and bathroom was squeaky clean. The real attraction for me was the balcony facing the St. Clair river. We spent a fair amount of time relaxing on the balcony when we weren't with our friends. Hotel was very full but we never experiences any noise. Front desk was accommodating and helpful. Hotel has a restaurant (Dive) but since our friends chose great restaurants in the area, we did not eat at the hotel. There is a bar in Dive as well as a "speakeasy" called Prohibition. We checked out Prohibition in the morning and would have loved to drink there but a busy schedule and a huge dinner made this bar best tried the next time we come here - and we definitely will. A local historic hotel combined with Marriott management is a winning combination in my opinion.

A total disaster for us !!! Never again! 1) Slow check in…read moretime. Check in took 40 minutes with two people in line. 2) Terrible room design choices. Two queen beds with only two flat sheets. The temperature in our room was 62 degrees - no way to adjust - caused me to shiver all night getting no sleep. Despite my husband next to me. The blind has these clips that kept detaching. We worked on these blinds six or seven times. If they are not clipped properly light comes into the room and you can't sleep and change your clothes . At one point we had them all clipped and then like dominoes the entire draped dropped to the ground. The kids had to step on it to get inti their beds. Of course we tried to clip it again but also decided to leave the premises early. We were that upset. As we began to clip my husband had a hard time figure out the clips so we heard a cleaning crew who sent a man to help us. He had most of it clipped then again it all fell down. We ate at The Dive. Took an hour for a small steak to come. They served my husband fish first. The appetizer came after his food. They kept bringing more food that wasn't ours. We were celebrating my birthday and they made me an ice cream coffee sunday brought it to our table before appetizer !!! Then I had to think what to do with it. Four people that came after us ate and left and we still didn't get served. My husband ate his dinner at sat waiting for our meal ( two kids and me). The food tasted terrible and I regret the high tip and even paying $200! for this meal. However i didn't want to ruin our stay and it was so long of a wait we wanted to go to our room and sleep. We asked for a blanket/ comforter it never came. It was 3 pm the blind system was coming down , adding light and you can't sleep with light in your room. We all made the decision to get the heck out of that crappy cold room and go home. Best decision even. I would rate a zero star.

She was able to support me emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually as I went through my birthing journey. After hours of laboring med free I was able to walk around, do squats and enjoy the assistance of my doula's knowledge and support. My birth was very peaceful, empowering and so beautiful. My daughter made her arrival right into Charlene's arms after standing up to go with gravity spontaneously. The medical staff rushed in quickly after and the rest was history. She then assisted dad with skin to skin and read her book Affirmations for the Pretty Princess Within to my beautiful Princess as I slept peacefully. She captured so many irreplaceable moments on video that I am so grateful for especially since our last birth was virtual due to the pandemic. I recommend her doula services to every pregnant woman I come into contact with because she is the real deal. I can't wait to have my son with her assistance again this spring. If you're looking for a great doula book a consultation she is so patient and thorough with great packages and products.

The people in the office are very nice and helpful through the process of choosing your professionals for your wedding day, making payments, pre-wedding planning, post-wedding music selections... they were great on everything! We hired 2 wedding photgraphers and a videographer. They arrived at the location for pre-wedding pictures on time (actually they were early). They gave us very good direction during the photo/video session. In the house we were getting ready they even moved stuff around to make sure we would have great pictures. On the phone conversation with Ilze, our main photographer, I explained to her the big problem I have about having my eyes closed in most pictures. She listened and made sure to check that she had good shots with my eyes open. She was also very efficient through formal family and romantic pictures to make sure we could have the pictures done within our short time frame ( a bit over 1 hour). She was very friendly and the pictures turned out amazing!! Tracy, our second photographer, also did an amazing job! She took great shots of the guys before the cerimony. I also loved how well she captured the details of the decoration in the reception venue.. the centerpieces, the guest book, the cake, the gift table... all the details we spend so much time planning but we barely get to enjoy during the wedding and now we can remember them forever through her pictures. Patruck was our videographer, he was also very nice, from the phone conversation till the end of the wedding. We still didn't receive our wedding video, but i am 100% sure it will be amazing just like everything that Mike Staff have done.
