Apparently the "office visits" are in Lemont and the "testing equipment" is in Downers Grove. This past week I drove out to Lemont for my annual appointment, that I made 6 months ago, while standing in the Lemont location, complete with a reminder card since they do not perform reminder calls, text or emails. When I arrived the office was dark so I called the main number. The receptionist who answered told me. "Lemont is not open on Mondays. Your appointment is in Downers Grove." Mind you, I live in DG so would have been more than happy to not have driven to Lemont, IF someone would have told me the appointment was for testing not an office visit. Even my appointment card says nothing about "testing in DG". I asked, "So I suppose I need to reschedule?" To ad insult to injury, the receptionist says, "Yes. The soonest I can get you in is the end of April." That is 8 weeks out from the missed appointment, that I do not feel was entirely my fault. My time is valuable, too. I'll be finding a new ophthalmologist.

Before any procedure she goes over the reason for that procedure, what entails in the procedure, and what is expected afterwards, all in a way that is easy to understand. I wish all doctors treated and cared for their patients the way she does. I completely trust her abilities.

I was told by Melissa that an insurance conflict was taken care of but it was not. I didn't cancel…read moremy appointment because I trusted her, big mistake. When I called her about a large bill I received for that appointment, she claims that she would never say what she said, insinuating that I am lying. I was given options to pay a cash rate but every time it came up, the cash rate got more expensive. It started at $300, went up to $350 and now the bill has been sent to collections as $400. I shouldn't have to pay anything as I was told the insurance was straightened out. If it were I would've had a $0 copay. Dr. Phillips, while nice during his appointments, will not get involved in billing issues. Apparently, he would rather just send disputes to collections, wrecking his patients credit. Furthermore, every appointment I have had here, I waited over an hour past the appointment time before I was seen. I highly recommend finding care elsewhere.

He took his time and did a comprehensive exam; unlike what you get at chain locations at the mall. He took the time to explain the exam not only to me, but the children as well. There's a no pressure approach to purchasing glasses, or other services. They have a nice selection of frames to fit every budget. Making the appointment was quick and painless, and we didn't have to wait weeks to get in. This office is about a 25 minute drive for me, and was absolutely worth it. We'll be back for sure.

We went back and they heated and adjusted the arms of the glasses to turn them in/make them tighter, but the glasses were still too loose. They said that they couldn't adjust them any more and that there was nothing else that they could do. The glasses do not fit and are too loose. FYI - they were not cheap. Very unsatisfied. Would not recommend.

I've had the unpleasant pleasure of booking an appointment with Dr. Prentice and being moved to Dr. Wilmoth on several occasions. Dr. Wilmoth lacks compassion and doesn't make you feel comfortable. Thankfully he's not an attending physician because he absolutely lacks bedside manner. During the election he openly spoke about how Trump is going to make America great again. I was very offended. One year I was stuck with my son, husband and myself all needing new glasses at the same time and we worked out an arrangement that didn't kill us. The usual deal is that you pick out your frames, place half down and the rest at delivery of the glasses which is usually about a week. This is a small business, not like Pearl Vision or For eyes--which means that the same people that waited on you last year will be there next year. The prices are a bit more because of this, but so is the quality of customer service.
