Both sandwiches had amazing bread, and the fries were delicious. The price was a little steep at almost $50 for two sandwiches, one bag of chips, one soda, and an order of fries. But for me, the quality was worth the price for a once in a while treat. Our only complaint was the ketchup came in packets, and they either were old or not under proper temp control. We arrived at around noon ahead of our friends so we took a table and ordered a drink and asked for menus. We were handed the menu and told that the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes because the cook had to go home for some issue with his/her house (on the lines of an issue with plumbing, furnace, the like). We were quite shocked that a restaurant would not call someone else in if the person who was scheduled to work that day couldn't make it. Looked at the menu and it was NOTHING like the menu posted on line. When I asked about this, i was told they didn't have the password to change their website..... Needless to say we called our friends and met elsewhere for lunch. Second visit...Friday before St. Patrick's Day. We thought to give this place another try. Hubby and I stopped in for dinner around 6:30. We were told the kitchen was closed (again!!??) because the cooks had been preparing for tomorrow's St. Patty's day and they were tired and going home. Two strikes - There are plenty of other restaurants in McHenry that actually serve food.
