Even though this is one of the smaller stores ... the selection is solid at this Binnys store. I got to give a shout out to Brian who out of his way to help me with a tasting I need a bunch of Teelings for. He's a fantastic guy and love the extra effort to set up for an excellent customer experience. Holly was also super helpful and Brian was fantastic! Didn't realize that the store may seem smaller but they have a huge warehouse under the store... Two thumbs up at the McHenry Binnys! Highly recommended. My "go to" liquor store and cigar shop in McHenry. Very good selection of beers in the cooler and an eclectic mix in the shelves. There's always something new to try. Wine selection is ample and priced primarily for the low and mid-tier oenophile. There's some deals to be had at times so definitely a place to keep your eye on for wine deals. Liquor selection is solid and they carry all the staples and a few oddities as well. Lucky for you, they always have Malort in stock. :). Humidor is pretty small and the stock is limited. If you're looking for variety, try the Crystal Lake store. Wonderful staff that is always willing to help you find what you are looking for or to offer suggestions. It's a smaller store but they're a good source for your booze and smokes. read more

I don't know what to say about Binny's. This place is awesome! No matter what your drink of choice is, Binny's has it. No matter what location you stop at, they have it. I stopped at the store in McHenry just to grab a six pack of my go to Leinenkugel's and I ended up spending over an hour there just looking in amazement at the massive selection of all the different beers they have on hand. After looking at the beer I walked the isles looking at the wines, and then the hard liquors. The prices are very competitive with everybody else. They are always running specials and the staff is always very nice and I talked to an employee about some of the craft beers and he was very knowledgeable and answered everything I asked. I recommend stopping in at Binny's. It's a cool place to visit. read more

This location rude. Well at least the short haired older woman. Super rude on the phone wouldnt answer our questions if they had a whiskey in stock. We had to drive an hour to get there but she wouldnt tell us if they had more than 1 so it was a risky drive. I walked in asked if they had it and of course i knew i was speaking to this lady... She goes YES im like okay where is it? She goes BEHIND THE COUNTER (giving me attitude...) Im like okay... can i have a bottle? She goes GET IN LINE Just like that. Short answered and rude as hell. The 2nd star is only there because they were the only place to have proper 12 within a 2 hour distance. But yah wicked rude ass lady here. read more

While I understand that sales restrictions during SARS-CoV-2, (the coronavirus associated with COVID-19), will be difficult, I must note that red flags for me went up on my last visit to this location. A female employee (with an attitude I will add) wearing a useless "faceshield" of 4" square rigid fabric dangling by two cords in front of her mouth, was cause of much consternation on my part. As I passed by on my way out, I heard her conversing with a customer and state she objected to masks, because according to a "study", "increased" mask CO2 breathing caused mental impairment. Tell that, should you ever need surgery to the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and support staff that masks are not required, as you wouldn't want them mentally compromised. They wear masks for extended hours during surgical procedures, w/o impairment, in accordance with their first order Hippocratic oaths. WAKE UP PEOPLE! While we're all pretty sick of all of these pandemic restrictions, we will not get ahead of this monster virus until we realize the actual seriousness, and take appropriate precautions despite the distastefullness. Needless to say I'll be getting my wine, beer, and spirits elsewhere, until they get this Binny's act together. read more

My dad went to the Binnys in Mchenry today and was screamed at by the manager as he was checking out (mind you he had been in the store for about 20 minutes at this point) about his face shield because the manager felt it doesn't count as a face covering. This face shield is from the hospital due to my dad having asthma they gave him this to wear. If your store is going to pick and choose what masks they will and will not allow, which the hospital given mask is one that apparently isn't allowed.., I would at least change your signs on your front door. And work on your customer service especially during a time like this. We will gladly take our business elsewhere from now on. read more

I really like my local Binny's Beverage Depot. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help answer questions and make suggestions. They are well stocked with many different types of wines, beers and alcohol. I'm there for the selection of wines. read more

Go to Binny's, get a couple bottles of red wine, open em up and let me breath for a minute, drink em and Yelp away yo! The staff at Binny's are very knowledgable and I like that when I'm trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about. They have a nice collection of booze but in the grand tradition of huge Binny's ... This one is the smallest I have been to. But!! Thet have always had what I have been looking for, but the building is older, and they don't have the selection that other Binnys do. I suppose my wallet appreciates that. read more

Great selection of local wines. Everyone was helpful and nice. I love that it's close and I don't have to deal with the grocery store. My husband is quite particular about his beer and Binny's has a large variety of unique beer. Thrilled we came upon this place when we moved here. read more

While not as big as other Binny's locations, this particular one still has a fantastic selection. The employees are helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. I normally spend a minimum of an hour there, perusing the craft beer section. I love it. read more
