I emailed the…read morefollowing to Binney's Beverage Depot customer support: Dear Tech(s): In the current economic climate (resulting from the COVID inflation), everyone is stressed to their limits and watching their pennies. This being the case, your shopping experience could be much better--and I know that you can do it because the Peapod company was able to do it. First--for all applicable wet and dry products, please add a line of code for "price per ounce"--not quart, package, etc. (for company input and consumer readout). This gives all products a level playing field so that consumers can know "cost per value" as they make their choices. For those on a budget--which is just about everyone these days--they need to make sure that they get the best product that their budget allows. Second, you need to work on your Search coding. Primarily, add a "price per ounce" search option with "low/high" options. Secondarily, you need to tighten up your search fields and expand the choices. I tried a search on "sugar free mixers" and had to scroll through flavored vodkas, regular mixers containing sugar, etc. EXAMPLE: a search option that will only produce "sugar free" results would be awesome for up to 60% if your customers. (Women 50% generally want lower calorie drinks; plus at least 10-15% of the US population is diabetic or pre-diabetic.) Regarding the 10-15% diabetics, they can imbibe CAREFULLY: They need to count the carbohydrates of each food/drink they ingest. "Pure Alcohol" is a "fat" which doesn't negatively impact a diabetic unless overdone. Therefore, it's very important to include any "nutrition information panel" on every product. As a consumer, I want to be able to input what I want, get on-point results, and be able to sort them based on "price per ounce" (just like the tags on the store shelves). Honestly, since the Peapod company was able to do this with their mobile app, I see no reason that you can't implement the same professionalism in your app. I sincerely hope that you can take your app from the dark ages into the 21st century. Ok, so the prices aren't bad... the place is clean... and it's in a "Shopping Center" (some might…read morecall it a strip mall), so if you feel like walking a few feet for something sweet, there's a Dairy Queen just a few feet away. I suppose these could be listed as positive qualities. In general, there's nothing that makes this bar unique and there's a definite generic feel to the beer signs and brewery schwag used to decorate the place. The lighting is too bright for a bar. You want your bar to be a little dark when you're drinking with friends and listening to a band on a Saturday night. Mulligan's lighting was slightly brighter than the dining room of your average Applebee's. All of that could be forgiven if you're able to enjoy doing what you come to a bar to do... drink. I was there Saturday with a group of friends... a group of friends who like to drink. We got there just as the band was about to start playing, went up to the bar to get our first round, and waited... and waited... The band finished their first 3 songs before the bartender finally took our order. The drinks came to about $14. We gave her a $20... she never came back with the change. Assuming that we wanted to give her a 40% tip after having to wait so long was a bit presumptuous. But whatever... we didn't make a big deal about it. Just to clarify - the bar was not that busy and there were 2 bartenders ignoring us. (When another friend paid for a few drinks with a $100 bill, she said, "Do you need change back?" Really?) We went back up for the next round, and again... we waited... and waited... Finally, my friend walked up to a waitress at the wait stand and asked her if she could get us 3 beers. She was super sweet - got our beers - and she got a nice tip. Back a the bar again later, we waited and waited again... finally, when my friend actually waved his arms to get the bartender's attention... she acted startled to see us there. It was as if we had materialized out of thin air and she couldn't believe her eyes! Seriously? As I said before, the overall mediocrity of the bar could totally be overlooked if they compensated with a great staff. The single cocktail waitress and the bar-back were the most attentive members of the staff - they were actually pretty great. But I was there with a group of people who LIKE TO DRINK... yet we all walked out at the end of the night completely sober simply because it took so frustratingly long to order each round. On the plus side, we walked out with a lot more cash in our pockets since we weren't able to spend it at the bar.

When I moved to Huntley, I was sorely disappointed to say goodbye to my old liquor store. I had a…read moregood relationship with the owner and it killed me to leave that behind. What I didn't know was I would find another store that would be equally great. The guys are always friendly and helpful. If they're able, they'll even order per your request. Yeah, they're a little on the high side of price, but I'll pay a little more for good, friendly service. The craft and micro brew selection at this store is better than most. At my old store, it was always a rare treat to find some new interesting beer. At this store, the treats are never ending. Even if the beer I've been waiting for hasn't yet arrived, there's a ton of other amazing beers to give a try while waiting for the one I want to get there.

They clearly have a lot to offer other than beer. They have a great selection of Pipeworks, which usually sells out in a day at Binny's, so I can always find something that has been just released. Today I drove down to Antioch for the first time. I've known about this store for several years but…read morethought it was closer to Chicagoland versus just across the WI/IL border. I can only speak for the whiskey. The selection is huge with plenty of barrel picks from which to choose. I found the prices to be very fair, and there's no "secondary market" pricing that has been cropping up in retail locations in the last few years. Today there was a spirits event at their bar in the middle of the store. About a dozen vendors were pouring various spirits, mostly whiskey, and it was very professional with knowledgeable brand representatives/ambassadors. Also, if you're a whiskey geek like me, there's a sealed cabinet with all sorts of full old and pre-Prohibition bottles of whiskey to admire. If you're in the Antioch area, you'll definitely want to stop here and take a peek. Cheers!
