Gina is great but Randy is a terrible instructor. He is barely teaching and he's just there to throw his own pieces for fun. Don't take Thursday night classes with him. I've never not learned anything in my life time of paid class time. read more

The owner, Gina, is great and friendly. Pottery can be fun but it's for sure not easy. One of the instructors, Heather, is classically trained in ceramics and almost over-qualified to teach, so anyone who takes her class is very lucky. She explains everything very well. You have plenty of opportunity to make lots of pieces if you move quickly and use your time wisely. I encourage anyone to try it if they're looking for a new hobby. read more

I'm going to regret writing this b/c y'all are going to take up all the spots at the studio, but I love Gina (the owner), Muddy's Studio, all the instructors and the students. Everyone is so kind, patient and friendly! Gina is extremely responsive, flexible and wonderful. She has a heart of gold. It also looks like she helps a ton of people get into ceramics at various colleges, art schools, scholarships, etc. I'm glad I got a space for two months. Amazing studio! I have been taking classes on Friday nights with Lupe and she is amazing! The studio is a well equipped space to explore the hobby of ceramics. Lupe is knowledgeable, patient, and empowering in her approach which is more than I could hope for as a beginner. The community is also exceptional and collaborative which is so refreshing.. Really was looking forward to starting back up an old pastime with my boyfriend in the new year but Gina has made it impossible for us sadly... I was in contact with Gina back in December and requested to reserve our spots for March. It's now February and I have yet to receive any sort of communication or response back confirming whether or not our spots have been reserved- not even a quick status update to help manage our expectations. Basically, we've been put on hold for two months with no consideration of our time and plans. A disappointing case of poor communication and customer service. Bummer because I took a 4-week session a few years back and had a nice experience, so much so that I insisted my boyfriend and I sign up for another session here and only here. It's really a shame we now have to find another studio after all this time waiting. read more

I drove a ways for a private class on the wheel with my granddaughter($180). We were told they could glaze it for us after it was fired. We only wanted basic black or white pots. Well, they were sloppily done and it ruined some of the pots. See the pictures. No excused for that. I'd suggest anyone who takes the lesson, return on another day and glaze it yourself. read more

Outstanding! Gina teaches throwing pottery on the wheel by demonstrating easy to follow steps- which are a illustrated on the whiteboard - then she helps each student individually. I started taking classes here once a week with Gina. She is amazing and our class (wed am) was so much fun. Mark would be there sometimes and I always found it fun to ask his opinion and for help in some cases. and even though he wasn't my instructor, he would and was always super sweet about it. I told Gina that I was getting addicted and wanted to start taking more than one class a week and she referred me to OCC to take classes with her husband, Kevin. WOW. I took a private pottery class with Gina back in October and it was awesome. Pottery is something I've always wanted to try and just haven't really had the time or money. During my lesson I made several cool pieces and left them with Gina to glaze and I was to pick them up at a later date. Due to my hectic work schedule and the fact that I'm unable to drive I was unable to pick up the pieces I made. I honestly just expected them to get tossed out. Yesterday I received a call from Gina that she happened to be in the area and had dropped off the pottery in front of my house. It was totally unexpected and awesome. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to give pottery a try or any one who is a seasoned potter. read more
