For great products that are unique and actually liked by pets, I give it 5 stars For customer service I give it 3 stars I went in because all of their locations carry unique cat toys that are both commercial as well as seemingly homemade although those probably are commercial too There's a large selection of both and the thing that I love is that they are actual toys that are effective, meaning they work well and they don't break easily and our high-quality. And our cats that are super picky about toys, pretty much love anything I get there because they carry toys that pretty much any cat would love. I don't know how to explain that exactly but it's very different than going to a PetSmart or a Petco in terms of their products I feel like their prices are super reasonable as well so I don't even try to price check it against anything online. One reason is because I appreciate them actually taking the time to find these great products and I like supporting their business The second I walked in, someone asked if they could help me but I declined because I could see the section I was looking for. But after I started shopping, I did need help and no one ever checked on me again... And the woman working was on the entire other side of this Store which is fairly large. And due to an injury, it was just too hard for me to walk over to get help. And she would never look in my direction for me to waive her over. So that was kind of a bummer The same woman, checked me out and get the checkmark for doing the job she was paid to do. She was not friendly but she was not unfriendly, but something about her was a little unapproachable. She didn't know the answers to my two questions and because of the unapproachable factor, I didn't feel like pushing her to find out. I just decided to make the decision based on my own knowledge I would definitely revisit this location based on their products and the 1st employee's happiness to help. read more

Treated my doggo wonderfully and couldn't have asked for better service. They had everything he needed and were well aware of which products had chicken/birds in it so we could avoid allergy flare ups. Definitely recommend if you need a fantastic pet store in Issaquah. read more

I've been coming to Mud Bay forever. One of my favorite things- other than the very friendly people who work there- are the little sample treats I could take home to my cats to see which ones they loved. Today I was told that they no longer give out little sample treats. It is very disappointing. So very bummed. Why take away such a wonderful customer benefit? read more

Not sure if this is a local company or just a company that doesn't seem as corporate since it's smaller, but it's great if your pet has specific diet requirements, allergies, or want more natural options. Even if they don't, I think everybody that owns pets should provide them with the best food possible out there because it will cost you less in the long run if your companion stays healthy & well-taken care of. I didn't even know about this place until my client got me a gift card for my dog's birthday. The staff here are super knowledgeable with any questions you might have. It is a smaller neighborhood store than your generic Petco or PetSmart, they don't carry much of a selection for clothes or toys, but quality food is a major reason why you should come here. Posting this cos I coulda sworn I left this but I'm happy to do it again. Absolutely outstanding service, and I do not mean those words lightly. My wife and I came here the first time a year ago and were BLOWN AWAY at how kind and intelligent the costumer service representative's were from start to finish. None of that pushy "I really need to keep my numbers up because this job said so please let me sell you something" energy that I know haunts so many poor souls currently working in retail. (Stay strong brothers and sisters) They not only showed us what we were looking for but even helped us make informed decisions about things we needed down the line. And they didn't pitch or upsell the most expensive thing, they would straight up tell me "this is nice, but you can get exactly what you're looking for right here for a bargain". I love me some honest and truly costumer minded sales people. They didn't convince me that I needed these things, they gave me information that helped me make an informed decision. It kinda reminded me why mortar and pedestal shops still have that charm. This wasn't a one time thing, or a one time person. I started to come here regularly because they have elite stock of all toys, snacks, devices and stuff you may need and soon discovered that that's the MudBay way: outstandingly intelligent, friendly and honest service by people who seem to love what they are doing. I swear down I will go to WAR against anyone that dares to Karen out on my MudBuddies. You keep that nonsense away from these good people, Karen. I like to bring my two Cowboy corgis in to make everyone smile and have a good day, and my dogs treat going to MudBay like kids used to treat going to Toys R Us. High end pet supplies. Excellent customer service. Friendly welcoming staff. Excellent products. Can be pricey but every thing is good quality that I have purchased. I really like that I can go into the store tell them what my needs are snd they help me figure out what I need. My 12 yo chihuahua is missing teeth and extremely picky with food. They sent me with full size cans of several foods for my bubba to try for free. Also smaller sized samples of dry food. Highly recommend this place! read more

Today was me and my pups first time in Mud Bay. We have been eyeing it from afar but nervous we would find ourselves facing reality surrounded by cool dog stuff but on on a tight budget. However, we were super happy to be greeted by the nicest staff who gave us a run down of what we could find in the store. The prices were great! A helpful associate named Kay showed us some fun dog treats with ideas on how to add sweet potato or broth and freeze to have fun snacks for my dog and right when I thought they couldn't be any friendlier staff my horse of a dog took a giant poo on the floor to my horror. However, Kay was super nice and helped me clean it up without a fuss at all. Kay went above and beyond. Kay helped me sign up to be a member and I am excited to return to this store in the future. Came in here today for the first time. Renton doesn't have any Mudbay or places similar to it so I came all the way over to issaquah. I've been interested in freeze dried and raw food for my cats for a while and Anthony was very knowledgeable and informative. Definitely a greater variety of products here and lots of options for raw and freeze dried food! Cat toys seem to be all handmade with catnip which is really cute. Anthony gave me a couple samples to tried out along with a nice handwritten letter with a coupon since it was my first time here. Super friendly and nice service! I love this location. I really like Mud Bay in general but not all Mud Bays have the same staff. This crew loves animals and you can tell. I never feel any pressure to buy higher priced items and there are often times when one of the cashiers will offer lower priced items at the same quality level. Plus.. I love Mud Bay! I come here every time I'm in Seattle to stock up on their bulk biscuits and look at other things. Nice natural products for my dog, and not too expensive. The biscuits are chock-full of natural goodness and competitive pricing with lower quality things that you see in the supermarket. Staff is so friendly and helpful! I have a dog with a deformity and even though they didn't stock something that could help, the sales clerk offered to do some research and find a product that would help him. This is My favorite Mud Bay store by far! Not only are the employees extremely knowledgeable, but they are very friendly and strive to make customers for life. I have been shopping at Mud Bay, primarily this location, for just over a year now (as my pup is almost a year and a half), and every time we come in they great my very large pup (100+ lbs) by name and with a smile. My pup has had a delicate digestive system since I got her and they have worked with me every step of the way, finding a food that she both enjoyed and could process, and taking back many bags of food in the process of ones that didn't workout. She always gets a lot of love from them, which she enjoys, and I get help finding whatever food, treats or toys I need; it's a win, win. We recently moved further south and while the employees at the Mud Bay now closest to us have been nice, they aren't as welcoming, so we will be driving up to Issaquah when we need more treats and toys! read more

At this Issaquah location, as soon as you walk in, you are instantly greeted by someone, willing to help you find specific items or answer questions about products sold. WOW! I just got back from there and I think they have a customer for life. I typically shop at the grange because they have a special food that my super fussy cat likes, well they have been out of it for a while so I decided to go to mud bay and the customer service there was phenomenal. They genuinely wanted to help me which was a relief because there are so SO so many overwhelming options and I have already been down this road with what is a healthy option and what she will actually eat. I do not know the name for the associate who helped me today, but she was great. I brought in a young puppy who always gets too excited/rambunctious in pet stores. He pulls, sometimes yelps and with yummy smells throughout, he changes directions unexpectedly and quite often, just as one of my hands is full with potential purchase. We came in for a fitting of a no-pull harness and the special leash. The lady was very knowledgeable, not pushy at all (thank God, I really do not like pushy sales) allowed me to test the new setup before buying by assembling it all on my pup and letting me walk him back and forth around the store before agreeing this is the best solution for us. I am happy, my dog is happy . The only question I had- quite a few uncovered dog treats were in the barrels and I was semi terrified that my pup would eat straight from one of them since it was way too conveniently located for him. This location welcomes animals but I was worried that my kiddo would decide to help himself. Luckily he didn't but I am wondering if the management realizes that.... read more

I came to this store about one week after it opened with a specific need. Our chihuahua dachshund mix was eating carpet and fluff from chew toys and getting sick, and also barking in his crate when I left. The staff recommended two different Kong toys that have no stuffing; one for playing and chewing (a rope attached to a rubber bone) and the other a small red tube like thing that can hold a treat (our dog loves trying to get the treat out). He has stopped eating the carpet and is no longer swallowing toy fluff so he doesn't get sick anymore and also when I leave I put a treat inside the treat toy in his crate and that occupies him when I leave so he doesn't bark. They know their products and what works. I have also gotten things that didn't work and they took it back for a refund or exchange, no questions asked and I felt comfortable doing that. I pretty much get everything I need for the dog at this store now and highly recommend it for anyone who needs advice to solve pet problems and wants to have a healthy, happy, active pet! read more

We stopped by on a weeknight to pick up a new collar for my dog. The store is brand new, bright, and staffed with helpful workers. While they may not have many sales like other pet stores, the prices seem fair. We left with a collar, a coupon for the next trip, and a hand-written note to thank us for shopping at their new store. The doggo loves coming in here! Treats! Toys! Friends! They give out free bday ice cream (for woofers, not humans). And they clean up messes when someone (ahem, the pupper) gets a little too excited about treats, toys, and friends. The staff have helped us with questions about everything from what shampoo is best for a puppy's sensitive skin, to recommending pumpkin for an upset tummy (it worked!). Love this store for several reasons. Their staff can tell you everything about their foods and what it does to your pet. Learned the Lamb is hot food causing the dog to itch after eating it. They don't push anything on you, are very friendly, unlike the big chains in the area. They also have their pets there sometimes, which is nice. They offer the higher end quality gourmet product. If you care about what your animal eats, this is where you find the food. Seriously, read whats in pet food, who owns the company, where they source their food.
