Finally got to try the much-lauded muchachos tonight for their amazing taco Tuesday deal! Seriously, $1 for these is such a bargain, there's a good portion of beautifully smoked meat on these so you can be full on five bucks. Also they had a dedicated little waiting area for to-go orders that was away from the seated tables of people eating in, so we didn't have to worry about the particles they were breathing. The good: taco value, meat portion, meat flavor, safety measures, decor Not everything measured up to that standard, though- I was particularly disappointed by the hatch slaw. It's $2/portion, and the portions are pretty dang small, I think they're twice the size of a little 1 oz sauce container. Also, to make it as flavorful as it is, it's a gritty, sandy, grainy mouthful of ground cumin and chili powder. Also, the chili verde was barely passing average, but since the meat was so flavorful, we didn't find ourselves really needing it. read more

It was the 9th day of the 6th month in the year 2021. Two soon to be newly weds were on their way to get their marriage license. But before paperwork, coffee and breakfast were a must. The bride to be insisted we go to Muchacho 's. Being the ignorant small town Michigander, I blindly followed, unaware of my morning fate. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and no mediocre coffee or breakfast should ever enter my bowels. In short, bad breakfast = a bad day. As we walked up to the restaurant at 7:25, we realized in horror that it was not open yet. Between the stress of wedding planning and just life, this horrible news broke us to our core. The bride to be threw her arms in the air with an exasperating wail of defeat. As we walked away, the owner opened the door with a heartwarming smile and said, "Coffee?" We didn't know at the time but the owners were sitting there watching the the whole thing unfold. Out of the purest empathy, they let us in. If the kindness of their hearts was the appetizer, their hospitality was the soul's main course. They shared their story, a cinematic roller coaster filled with love, sorrow, epic victories, defeats, and overcoming adversity. They certainly used adversity as a stone to sharpen their sword as they fought their way to the promise land! Once our souls were filled with love and laughter, our stomachs growl echoed throughout its empty chambers. The coffee was delectable. The first sip seemed to melt away my drowsiness and like a sunrise, life was reborn in me once again. As I sat there with my fiancé, full of adoration and thankfulness, I thought to myself, this morning cannot possibly get any better. Suddenly! I realized that I hadn't even touched my breakfast tacos! As I opened the pure and spotless container, a vessel poised to harbor such elegance, my eyes widened and my mouth salivated at the sight of these two, elegant, gleaming, made to perfection chicken breakfast tacos. As I took my first bite, fireworks erupted, and I could hear the faint sound of a mariachi band playing inside my mouth as my tastebuds partied to all the wonderful flavors. I was lost in a trance, and I was only hurled back into reality when I looked up and realized that I had eaten my two tacos before my date could even take a bite. I would have apologized but food this good does not deserve an apology, it was borderline offensive to even think of such a thing! In summary, this future household of ours will mark June 9th as "Muchachos Day." A day that symbolizes love, laughter, overcoming adversity, and a reminder that blood is thicker than water and empathy is like that perfect cup of joe. read more

Food is good but prepare to spend a lot of $. Owner is condescending when questioned over his deceptive marketing programs. He then posted my bill on Twitter after giving a refund that was not asked for and attempted to embarrass me over not leaving a tip on a takeout order In which I had to wait to be served when i was the only person in the place ordering food. I had been wanting to try this place for a while. First off the restaurant was clean and attractive. It's not the biggest place and there was a line out the door when I arrived, but I was accommodated pretty quickly. I had a Mac Burrito, it wasn't a world beater, but was pretty good and a good value for the money as well. I'll probably come back later and leave a better review, but all in all it was a good first experience and I was happy to support this locally owned business. read more

When a restaurant touts that everything they do, they "do with passion" it's tough to know how true that is. With Muchachos it's easy to know. Just ask Nick when he takes a break from making whatever wonderful creation is on the menu that day. My first visit I opted for the tacos, two for $7. Both the pork & the chicken were incredibly flavorful and prepared to perfection. I went with the red salsa on one and green hatch chili salsa on the other. Both were fantastic and honestly if I had the time I'd head back for seconds. So if you want to understand Nick, and his passion, just look for that brightly colored truck. read more

I've been on a long road trip throughout the country and recently wound up in Lincoln NE where I found Muchachos food truck. This is easily the best food truck I've ever been to. We got a couple tacos and tried both chicken and pork. We also got the Nachos which were amazing! Very generous servings and great food. Wow!! So delicious! I was on a road trip and made a stop in Lincoln to try this food truck. We got two kinds of tacos and nachos for dinner, then we went to the farmer's market to try the breakfast tacos! Seriously the BEST tacos I have tasted!! The meat was so tender and flavorful and the sauce was really good too! My mouth is watering just thinking about it; I wish this food truck was in my hometown! I have been there several times and it's always amazing. Great place to get coffee when my kids are at practice and definitely great food any time. Love the pulled pork breakfast tacos. I was so stoked when Muchachos the food truck added Muchachos the super hip and cool restaurant & bar to their family. The moment you walk into their space you are greeted by warm and welcoming humans that are committed to making sure you have the best experience possible. Even as a vegetarian dining in a restaurant known for their smoked pork, I always leave with a full belly and happy soul. Their nachos with queso, avocado crema, slaw and salsas are my favorite and you always get more than enough to eat. Their portions are VERY generous! The owner Nick, and all of his staff, are such a gift to the Lincoln community and the amount of love they have infused into their space and their food is apparent. People are gonna tell you about the amazing brisket. I'm not going to do that. I've never had it. Because the first time I went, I got the pork, and now I can't bring myself to get anything else. So sure, you can get the brisket. I'm sure it's incredible. More pork for me. read more
