He could only handle 3 hours of preschool, but after 7 hours of camp doodles, he doesn't want to come home! Every week is another theme, and every day is a mix of structured play and free choice time. Because they take over the entire Strawberry Point School, they have room to stretch out and have quiet play, art, nature hikes, relay races, hoola hoops (I picked one up and was super excited that I could still do it), and pretty much anything your camper can imagine. By the end of the first week, my son was a master at camp songs and leading the counselors in a round of "Boom Chicka Boom" (he's only 5). What do I think is the best part of Camp Doodles? The staff is nearly 50/50 men and women. Campers benefit from having super cool, big hearted older boys around, as well as the usual lovable girls. I have found the other campers to be a wonderful mix of ethnicities, economic backgrounds, and energy levels yet, they all gel perfectly and create a camp where every kid is a star!

They are kind, always aware of what their students are doing & always use the kindest and most appropriate voices! They get kids! They even deal well with less than appropriately behaving parents!!!! Britteny, the Aquatics Coordinator, is phenomenal and ALWAYS present! She is a calm voice in a sea of rambunctious kiddos & parents! I am sure her professionalism is why all the young coaches are so remarkable! The Lifeguards are all very sweet and helpful too! I always feel safe leaving my young child at pool side! The facilities are great! The pools are always warm (particularly in the winter), the dressing areas always attended to & clean! The pool maintenance guy is always there! The parking is a little rough, but not within anyone's control, just get there early! So very happy with everyone at the pool!

She is creative and cheerful and energetic and warm and welcoming. My children adore her. They also love the other camp counselors ( who apparently have funny names like marshmallow etc). There is swimming and storytelling and hiking and game playing and exercise and arts and crafts etc. My very active (and easily bored) 7 year old comes back from camp each day filled with stories of his day and excited to go back the next day. The kids came home happy, a little tired but not exhausted or crabby and couldn't stop talking about the fun things they did that day. The communication was on point, drop off and pick up was a breeze and they were all really well organized. You can tell that they have a solid game plan for each day/week. I also really enjoyed that my kiddos were able to attend the camp together - a rarity with their 3+ year age gap and that my 4 year old could attend the camp.
