Loved the crafts, games, skits and the counselors. Everyone was so nice, very helpful at check in and the daily lunch option was a nice bonus. From the moment we stepped on campus I could tell it was going to be a great summer. I wanted to stay and go to camp. My kids had a ball. Everyday was an adventure and they loved the photo slide show at the end of each day. I loved it too as I got to see what they did throughout the day. The best part about Camp Doodles is the Camp Counselors. They are all amazing and seem to truly enjoy the kids and the work they do. My kids were sad when the summer came to an end with it camp. We couldn't wait a whole year to go back and so were thrilled to see they offered Winter Camp Doodles over the school break. My kids slipped right back into the camp routine without skipping a beat. They are signed up again for this summer and keep asking how long until camp starts. As a working mom, it makes me feel good to know my kids are excited about where they will spend their day and I can't wait to hear all the stories each afternoon. I also think it is worth mentioning that Doodles is especially good for the younger campers. I was not worried about my kids getting lost in a crowd of older kids. The campers are put in age appropriate groups and with plenty of activities to choose from within in their age group. Water play day and bicycling days were especially popular with my kids. The Reggio Emilia approach to childhood education allowed our son to blossom into himself rather than be molded into someone he is not. The teachers know each student intimately. The director has always been wonderfully responsive and communicative. I really feel that their innovation strategy hits the mark (gotta let the kids fail for a second so they learn how to perfect their creations). In any case, the drop off/pick up process has been seamless (of course, in non-covid years), and Kentfield for us has been super convenient - so we're lucky the middle school allowed Camp Galileo to host camp. Nadia takes special care in where she places children around the room: friends next to each other, kids playing similar games next to each other, coding kids next to each other, etc.. Both of my children started summer camps there at age 7, and they always request to go back! My kids love the mix of gaming time with outdoor team activities- egg drop, capture the flag, etc... My younger son loves the coding program and is learning so much and he's very proud of what he can create with JavaScript. My older son is neurodivergent and feels totally supported, even when he changes his mind or needs different levels of involvement- the entire Esporterz team is Neuro-affirming and does a great job listening to each of their camper's needs. I always appreciate Nadia's clear communication and quick response time, she's very involved in all the best ways! We are extremely appreciative of the skills they are teaching our kids: it's not just sitting on a gaming screen all day, it's interacting with peers and gaining new skills. There is swimming and storytelling and hiking and game playing and exercise and arts and crafts etc. My very active (and easily bored) 7 year old comes back from camp each day filled with stories of his day and excited to go back the next day. Miss Audrey is a gifted caregiver and educator; she has a beautiful understanding of toddlers, and how best to support them as their personalities and preferences start to emerge. She really celebrates and understands all children. We love that her program has different units of focus (sea life was a favorite!) and incorporates Montessori philosophies and "works" into its daily rhythm. It's a wonderful introduction to Montessori principles in practice. We are so grateful to Miss Audrey and she's unique in that she's able to balance effective communication with parents/caregivers while also providing exemplary care. We are so thankful that we found her!
