The food menu is somewhat limited, but what we ordered was really good. I started with a non-alcoholic Lagunitas Hazy IPA, which was excellent. It had some refreshing fruity notes and was a great choice. I ordered the orange chicken. It was well done and definitely good, although it didn't quite have that "wow" factor. My buddy ordered the small nachos with added beef, and those were absolutely the way to go! The "small" size was huge, loaded with toppings, and packed with flavor. I sampled a few and would definitely recommend them. There wasn't any live music on Friday night when we visited, but it looks like they have live music fairly often throughout the week, which would be a fun bonus. Service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. If you're in Custer, this is definitely a place worth checking out!

Unfortunately, some of the sours were already sold out, so I didn't get to try the ones I was really hoping for. They did still have a few other sours available, though, and the ones we tried were pretty good. One thing I found a little strange was the beer flight. It was priced similarly to other flights we've had, but instead of the usual four beers, they only serve three. They bring the flight out on a paddle with four slots, but only allow three beers, which seemed a little odd. The food was pretty good. We got the buffalo burger, crab dip, and beer cheese soup, and enjoyed everything. The ambience is definitely one of the highlights the brewery is located inside a repurposed firehouse, which makes it a really cool and unique space. Overall, we had a good experience. I just wish more of the beers had been available and that the flight included four beers like the paddle suggests.

I loved that mine had those delightful dark cocktail cherries. The burger with bacon was excellent, as were the hand-cut fries (although I was disappointed that they didn't do truffle fries, especially since I could smell the truffle oil on the next-table-over's flatbread). I got a side salad with homemade blue cheese dressing that was generous with the cheese. They even provided our son a side of carrots and cucumbers with some ranch dip--he loved it! Good vibes and enjoyed the display of guitars! I did wish that they had had booths available, since our toddler was quite tired and we ideally wanted to hang out for longer while he took a snooze.

I was shook with a party so large how fast they got all of our food. I really appreciate that I can't do dairy so I asked if I could have the cheese for the nachos on the side. They did this but to my disappointment it was basically just chips and meat. Not their fault since I modified it. What I really appreciated though was I asked since there's no cheese could you bring me some salsa for it. They lovingly did this, and a big bowl too!l What excellent customer service. Our taproom, named after Fred Borsch’s famed South Dakota “singing coyote” Tootsie, features quality craft beer ranging from our signature crisp 5280 Pale Ale to our dark and roasty Whistle Blowin’ Stout and more. Tootsie was a regular at Borsch’s Spot Liquor Store. She could be found hanging around the place on any ordinary day and often gave unsuspecting customers quite a startle. Tootsie gained popularity with people all across the state of South Dakota, and as testament to this, Governor George T. Mickelson proclaimed the coyote the state animal in 1949. An attractive and colorful sign, featuring Tootsie, stood as a sentinel on the store’s roof for years. Recently, thanks to Deadwood’s Historic Preservation Office, the iconic sign is back! We invite you in for a cold craft brew inside the oldest wooden structure on Main Street. We’re confident Tootsie’s will become a favorite stop each time you visit our little Wild West town in the beautiful Black Hills.
