*spoiler alert* If you want to be surprised by the chef, don't read below. We ordered both the yuzu sparkling and the ume (Japanese plum) sparkling drinks. Both are lightly sweet drinks that pair well with the fish. We started with a handroll. It was fragrant, good amount of wasabi to enhance flavors with a shiso leaf to enhance the umami. I found it to be a good mix of textures (pickled radish, soft rice, roasted nori). The appetizer was lean tuna, topped with Japanese onions. The fish was soft and fresh and nicely axcompanied with mild Japanese onions. Shima aji (striped jack)- was tender, brushed with soy sauce and a drop of lime to brighten the flavors. Buri belly (wild yellow tail)- rich and fatty without being too heavy. Reminiscent of toro but not as fatty. Hotate (Scallop)- sweet and tender. Soooo yum. Madai (seabream)- torched with chili radish on top, adds a nice char without cooking the fish. Zuke salon (Marinated salmon)- soft, delicious, classic Chawanmushi- Japanese steamed egg with dungeness crab mix with rice, yuzu and wasabi. This is so lovely and comforting. Akami- Lean blue fin tuna with yuzu Toro (bluefin tuna belly)- torched lightly, brushed with some soy sauce, perfect Anago (Sea eel)- wasabi yuzu, lime- salty, sweet, glitter citrus-y (not just served with eel sauce), which I enjoyed. Dashimaki with daikon oroshi- japanese egg omelette made with fish broth (this was so yum that we forgot to take photos) Finally we added an uni sushi from hokkaido. This has got to be my favourite. Overall a great omakase experience for the price. Everyone is really lovely and nice and very willing to answer all your questions. Definitely will be back!

Came here yesterday to celebrate our anniversary and we loved it! It was our first time trying omakase and we were truly mesmerized by everything. Our chef was very kind and explained everything, he was a bit shy but we thought he did a great job handling everything. The waiters was always on top of everything, cleared our dishes quickly and constantly filled our water. We loved the whole menu and ending up ordered an 2 extra orders of Bonoto sushi. They also have a seasonal menu that you can try after the set menu they serve you. It is $100 per person as a base for the set menu. Then you can add on whatever you like at the end. Would definitely come again! You can request a chef as well when you book online. It's very cool as well because you sit in front of the chef while he makes and explains to you each piece you are getting. There aren't that many seats so I definitely recommend booking.

The nigiri was decent on both deliveries with the rolls being a tad above average. I was tempted to order a bowl but wanted a more filling option. With my go to spot for sushi delivery not showing any signs of revival. This might fill the void for now. 3.5 stars

Located a few doors down to the right of the W hotel. The fish is exceptionally fresh and of premium quality, with every bite melting in your mouth. The chefs clearly prioritize quality and authenticity, and each dish is beautifully presented. The menu includes delicate cuts of fatty tuna (otoro and chutoro), buttery Hokkaido uni, and beautifully marbled salmon that practically melts in your mouth. They also serve rarer options like golden eye snapper (kinmedai) and amberjack, Otoro, chutoro, unagi, amago, and more; each prepared to highlight its unique flavors and textures. The chefs at Yuzuki use traditional methods like aging and lightly searing certain cuts, enhancing the natural flavors of the fish without overwhelming it. Every bite showcases freshness and expertise, making it a must-visit for sushi enthusiasts. Yuzuki in Toronto is a gem for sushi lovers. From the moment you enter, the elegant ambiance and servers in traditional kimonos set a refined tone. The service is impeccable--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. You can really tell there's a lot of care behind every course. What stood out to me most was how calm and focused the whole experience felt--it made it easy to slow down and actually enjoy each bite. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I want something a little more special.

It's been a while since I've had omakase. There were three add-ons (toro with caviar $25, uni with caviar $35, and caviar sushi). I opted in for the toro and uni add-ons. It was strange they give you the add-ons before any other nigiri. Everything was very good and fresh. Standouts for me was the appetizer, all three cuts of bluefin tuna, the lobster (by far my favorite), and the hotaru ika. I would've appreciated knowing that the omakase included or not included toro and uni before I decided on the add-ons but I don't regret it. It was a splurge night after all. Service was very attentive. Note that the dining space is very small. 12 seats around the counter and two tables. There was a very loud gentleman two seats from me who never learned to use his inside voice and totally ruined vibe. But that's not on the staff. Another note is that gratuity is automatic on the bill.

The space itself leans more modern and clean rather than the typical dark, cozy izakaya vibe, which I actually didn't mind. It felt comfortable, not too loud, and easy to settle into for a slow dinner. We ordered a mix of small plates to share, and everything came out looking nicely put together. The aburi-style salmon sushi was one of the highlights for me.. lightly seared, with a soft texture and just enough flavor on top without being overwhelming. The tuna tataki was also fresh and clean, simple but well done. Some of the fried dishes leaned a bit richer with the creamy sauces, but they were still enjoyable, especially if you're in the mood for something a little more indulgent. The beef fried rice was straightforward but satisfying, one of those dishes that's easy to keep going back to between everything else. Drinks were a nice touch too.. refreshing, nicely presented, and added to the overall experience. Overall, this feels like a solid spot for a casual night out with friends. It's not overly traditional, but it's easygoing, shareable, and comfortable.. the kind of place you'd come back to when you just want good food and a relaxed atmosphere.
