They knowingly have put Property Managers in place that are to be nice...innept. There approved Landscaper has STOLEN nearly 10k of our money. They have been paid for services they have not performed. MSI has been useless in getting the work done, or recovering our fee's. Even one of the owners I reached out to, has been USELESS. They have done nothing to take care of our community. We had to form an action group and threaten legal action to get them to set up a board meeting so we could elect community members to the board. When Waste Management couldn't get me a recycle bin even though I explained I am in an HOA, I called my HOA. My HOS manager was out but Zach Bowen grabbed the task and resolved in minutes. Five stars to Zach for sure. People who can get things done are great to know. read more

If you're searching as an HOA for a company to manage, I would reconsider. He considers that this type of misbilling and illegitimately citing homeowners is "just doing what they are supposed to do". I never thought I would like dealing with an HOA (either you feel like they're pestering you, or they're not taking care of problems), but I actually feel lucky to be in the Green Valley Ranch North HOA. My biggest interaction with MSI was with Ben Biesendorfer, when I decided to get my lawn replaced with artificial turf. Initially I thought I was in the other GVR HOA, which is super difficult and was very bitchy on the phone about not allowing artificial turf in the front. Then I realized my house actually falls under GVR North. I got a phone number for Ben, called him, and was amazed to learn that they're in the process of allowing artificial turf, even in front yards. I'm really pleased they're open to new environmentally friendly approaches that will save Denver a lot of waster water. I submitted my application via email and received approval within DAYS. Wow! The other GVR HOA (before I realized I'm in this one) had told me to expect several weeks at a minimum. So if you're looking to buy in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood, aim to buy in the Green Valley Ranch North area. The only other interactions I've had was when I had a dead tree. I suspected it was dead but wanted to wait through more of the season to see if it came back. Eventually I got a letter saying I would get fined if it was not replaced, but that's fair I think. They gave me some needed time to do research, get approval from the city, and put a new tree in. Sure I was annoyed at the cost of the tree, especially since I had just bought the property with it dead apparently (in winter, so I didn't know), but on balance I think between not being oppressively pursuing minor issues, but also making sure the neighborhood looks good and is maintained well. We're doing some landscaping updates this year, submitted a design review request, answered a few questions for clarification which I thought were helpful and once clarified got approved. Any HOA board looking at this company should run. Read the reviews below - especially how they deal with vendors. It seems the vendors understand that there will be no follow up or accountability by MSI, and it really shows in the condition of the property. Being on a board and dealing with these managers is a headache, and you should expect it to be a full time job keeping on top of them. Useless HOA, changed HOA portal so you can no longer do anything you self and you have to contact them to update mailing address or payments. Then when you contact them they do nothing. They want you to contact them for any change to the property but they never get back to you to approve new windows or doors. I replaced my windows and 5 years later they wrote me that they noticed the windows were replaced without their approval. I had Anderson do the windows & they had to jump through hoops to get the HOA to tell them what kind of windows, eventually they just looked up other people they replaced in the complex and did the same style. They are quick to fine though. read more

Where is the money going? I live at Old Farm Townhomes and this year I have received 3 bills that I believe are fraudulent from MSI LLC, I do not owe this money. There is a pattern of billing without a basis, which MSI calls "errors" - one bill was for almost $700 - every time I contact them, they say it is an "error" but I believe they are using our HOA dues in ways they should not and sending out these bills to get extra money. There is no issue date listed on any of the bills and they all read "due upon receipt". I worked for the Govt for 7 years doing condo reviews and have requested a copy of the budget and the most recent 3 months bank statements from MSI so that I can see exactly how my dues are being spent and to also confirm the reserve amount, but MSI LLC has not provided that information. I am a dues paying member so this information should be available to the community but they have not provided it to date. MSI's accounting is off. I keep getting bills for things I do now owe; something is terribly wrong. In 2019 at an HOA meeting the residents were told there was a slip and fall accident, the HOA was being sued for a million dollars and it was going to deplete our reserves, but when you google the Adams County Clerk of Courts there is no record of a lawsuit. I do not know what is going on with the dues I pay - $246 per month, but I do know there is a pattern of what I believe to be fraudulent billing going on. One time might be an "error" but three times is a pattern. I have no idea how my money is being spent and again, the accounting is off! read more

As an HOA President, I've done business with MSI for 7 yrs. Over this time service levels have declined and costs have increased. Turnover amongst staff at MSI is extremely high, placing a burden on my HOA to be continually training new staff on how to do community management. What I see is a company overburdening and burning out staff while striving to maximize profits and pay for top executives. A commitment to service needs to be restored. read more

Thus far I've received 7 emails, all of which I replied asking very detailed questions of which next to zero received a proper reply. Horrible customer service with the residents. no clear detailed communication even when asked very specific questions. I thought the HOA worked for and with the residents since we are the homeowners, so disappointing. Would rather have the original company back. so disappointing. read more

WORST PROPERTY MANAGEMENT company EVER!!! I would give them negative stars if it was possible. They are a nightmare to deal with and no subdivision should consider hiring them. They send citations for anything and everything. It is obvious they only care about fining the homeowners and making money in this fashion. I have read numerous stories of unhappy residents that all sound like mine and MSI gives the same rude and dismissive response to everyone. I will never buy a home that MSI is involved in again, not worth having someone watch your every move. read more

I do not have a lot to say about MSI because my interactions are not with "the company". I have had MANY interactions with one of their exceptional employees, Karol Barton. My rating is based solely on those interactions. Karol is often placed in a position of being the "bad guy" because property owners do not always comply with their communities governing documents. People sometimes feel that they are being treated unfairly but the opposite is often the case. Karol strives to explain and be as compassionate as possible, but owners keep violating the rules that they agreed to when they purchased their properties. These same owners refuse to get involved in their communities by being a part of their HOA Boards. Karol does an amazing job being a liaison between apathetic owners and overworked volunteer board members trying to serve their communities. Thank you for your diligence and hard work Karol. Hopefully others have the same positive experience with employees from MSI. A++ read more

Is it possible to give a negative review? No? Sadly, this has been the only time I've been tempted to write a Yelp review, and much less give a negative one. Our Community Manager is unresponsive, vague in her replies, and inconsistent in how she addresses infractions. When I called about how a neighbor *set fire* to a common fence, she dragged her feet and even admitted that she didn't even know about it a couple of months after it happened. Even though on her voicemail she says Tuesdays are her "visit" days. It took several attempts and a slack message to the HOA President to get her to reply. We pay the highest HOA fees in Erie, so you'd think they'd (1) care how the place looks, and (2) be responsive. We are throwing our HOA fees down the toilet with them. read more

This management company came onto our property simply to check out a dead tree that, mind you, we had not planted. Happy to take the tree down as I respect the HOA's simple endeavor to keep the neighborhood looking nice. But upon asking that they would politely ask before coming onto my property, they denied it completely, stating it must have been someone like our landlord ... who I know personally. To make it a tad more frustrating, the man on our property admitted, verbally to me, that he was from the HOA. Again, it would have been a minuscule annoyance, but the fact that a manager lied via email as if they have all this power made our eyes roll and was completely unprofessional. read more

I don't know how this company stays in business. Our landscaping company (which is charging $15K more than the previous vendor) can't get its act together, and our property manager defends them by touting their "science-based" approach. It's taken nearly a month to get them to pull weeds and on the first try, the workers threw the weeds on the lawn instead of hauling them away. Umm ... won't that grow more weeds? These scientific minds also apparently can't figure out how to get the sprinklers to stop watering sidewalks, which is awesome for water conservation. Two of my neighbors have had broken sprinklers since last summer. Someone came out recently to take a look at one of the sprinklers and he was in more of a hurry to "close out the ticket" than to actually solve the problem. The sprinkler line remains broken and he actually has mushrooms growing on his lawn from the water. Science! read more

I tried explaining to our community manager Kelli Chavez for the last two weeks that I had a fine erroneously added to my account and explained several times that it was there and how it got there. I asked several times to get it removed so I could pay my HOA dues and not accrue a late fee, but she must not have the comprehension skills to figure out what I meant. I also had to email her three days in a row before she even responded to me. A community manager that is not for the community and needs to get fired. read more

I do not recommend this company to run any community. They do absolutely nothing to uphold or enforce any covenants in my community. Do not expect a response if you email them or if you leave a voicemail message. I have multiple emails I have sent to Sara Peck, the community manager, as well as her boss, Ray Ramelow. This is not secondhand knowledge, this is first hand. I have personally reached out to them via phone calls and emails and still the situation persists. All they ever do is send a letter or two to the people who are violating covenant rules but it doesn't go beyond that. MSI used to have a great reputation. I don't know what has happened. The standard excuse they give is that "violators" always complain, but I haven't had any violations. MSI ignores the fact that many of us in compliance are not happy with their service. When I contact them with a question, the responses are usually snarky and inaccurate. Our website is a mess. I know a new site was launched in March, but that is no excuse for having outdated incorrect information posted. Many tabs are still incomplete 3 months after the launch. I emailed my issues to a supervisor, and received a hasty rude response that had not been researched. This has been my typical experience with MSI. She sent me several quick apology emails only after a board member had pointed out her errors. MSI makes it very difficult to contact the board, to hide their incompetence. It appears that they have been sending out massive violation letters to make it appear that they are busy. In reality, we have covenants that have not been enforced in years and now they are unenforceable for many homes. I complained that we had community beds full of weeds next to beautifully landscaped homes and this was the response, " If all owners were conscientious about their home/lawn, it would make the volunteer Board job an easier one." Honestly, the Board job would be easier if MSI were more conscientious about doing their job in a polite, professional, competent manner. From my point of view, the only thing they are good at, is creating drama in our neighborhood. The only thing I hate more than rude incompetence, is having to pay a lot of money for it. read more

This HOA company is one of the worst I have ever had an experience with. Their is constant legal fights between board members, they suddenly required parking passes and then did nothing to actually enforce them so parking is an absolute nightmare, and then they suddenly wanted personal information about my pet. I would understand breed and/or weight since that is a common practice for condos and apartments, but they wanted name, color, a photo, and actual DNA; for what possible reason? Meanwhile the parking is still a mess, the board members fight so much they have to involve legal council, and they can't get a handle on the townhomes dumping trash in the condos designated dumpsters. The condos themselves are very nice and the area is beautiful, but the HOA is a mess. read more

This is the worst management group and unfortunately we are stuck with them through our HOA. Kelli Chavez is hardly ever in the office, and always has an excuse as to why she didn't answer. I have emailed her several times and gotten snarky replies telling me if I want to know what's going on I should come to an HOA meeting... well these meeting hardly ever run on time, not to mention I have 2 babies with a bedtime and a full time job so I can't really ever make these meetings. Anyone they hire for work does a half ass job or doesn't ever complete it. The community is always a mess even though we pay hundreds for it to be kept up. There is flooding in front of buildings causing structural damage and when it snows and these areas accumulate snow/water and it turns into an ice skating rink. I have contacted Kelli multiple times to see when this would be fixed and what the timeline would be and she never has any answers. I actually got to speak with her on the phone for the first time instead of being sent to voicemail, being told she isn't in or that I need to email... when I spoke with her she was rude and talked over me multiple times hardly letting me get a sentence in. I will suggest this company to no one as they can't seem to hire someone who cares about our community. read more

Beau Smith is fairly new to our community, (so are we!), but he jumped right in and is great at what he does. I know he's busy, but any time I have sent him an email, he actually responds promptly and takes care of the matter. He's really good about keeping us in the loop. Overall I'd recommend Beau. Seems to know and care about what he's doing. read more
